A recent prolonged power outage allowed my security system (Honeywell Vista-20/6150) backup battery to discharge. This allowed all of the prior settings to be lost, making the system essentially unusable. I do not have the Installer/Master codes required to reset the system to the prior useful state because I purchased the condo from an prior owner who did not obtain these from the original owner. In my investigation I learned that these codes may be reset by a new owner via the "backdoor" power-on-reset method. This method did not work with my system, which provided a "dl" status code. My further investigation found that some security system installers choose to set up the system in such a way that prevents new owners from being able to use this "backdoor" method. By choosing to set this "lockout code [88]" the system installer effectively insures that any reset to the Installer Code must involve them personally. Not only did Doug choose to set this lockout code, assuring his propriety over my system, he refused to help, instead offering a service visit (i.e., $100 service charge). I don't consider this standing behind your install.

Excellent! I have used Federal Security Systems for system installation, maintenance, and monitoring for over 20 years. Doug provides excellent support and is very responsive to any problems. My existing cellular alarm communicator would no longer communicate with the cell tower and had to be upgraded. Doug came out the same day and installed a replacement.
Description of Work: Replaced cellular alarm communicator

The alarm was installed when we were building our home. It has worked great since day one. We needed a new battery once and Doug replaced it immediately and charged us nothing for it.
Description of Work: This company installed my alarm system in 2003 and we have had no problems with it. Doug always returns any calls immediately and when I asked for a sign for my gate he responded right away.
