E&G Remodeling

This is a recently purchased home. i have not moved in yet. They began with a reasonable estimate for the job and appeared to know what they were doing. Josh did most of the talking and talked a good game. After removing the carpet they identified an area on the second floor that the subfloor needed to be repaired. I agreed and we added that amount to the original estimate. I bought all the required materials they requested and paid a deposit up front for labor. After a week and a half they requested a draw for the labor. I was some what satisfied to that point so i gave them a nice draw. They basically stopped working at that point. I don't think they started their day before 10:00 am on any day they worked. i travel allot and wasn't there to check daily work completed. After 3 weeks in to the job, which i expected to be completed by now, they stated that all the subfloor on the second floor needed to be replaced. This is after they had installed all of the underlayment and allot of the floor. This would have added very large increase in labor and they inflated the amount for materials. I questioned what they stated needed to be done and asked for a materials list. I did some research and also had another contractor inspect the house. He stated that the floor did not need to be replaced. Other alternatives were provided for the issues Josh and his partner identified. The contractor I asked to review the project stated he wouldn't touch the job if I needed another contractor. After telling Josh that what they wanted to do was not correct and that I wanted it to be completed in a different manner and also letting them know that their time table for completing this project was way over and unacceptable they went to the house and took all their equipment and left the keys on the front porch. They left my house filthy, they broke a mirror, and trash everywhere. It is apparent to me that they attempted to take me for a ride. I would not recommend this company to anyone. UPDATE: Worst experience of my life. It has cost me allot more to finish this work thanks to the to incompetent E&G owners.
