Dominion Fences & Decks

The tree in our back yard was hit by lightning. The tree exploded and damaged the house and our fence. The insurance company was not going to cover the full cost for replacing the damaged portion of the fence. Because they considered the fence depreciable property. I read reviews on Angie's list about Dominion Fencing. I contacted Dennis and he provided us a quote. His pricing was so good our neighbor also had their fenced replaced. We were able to replace our entire fence plus a new gate for a few hundred dollars more than the price the insurance company's contractor was going to charge us to replace just a portion of the fence. Dennis' price included the disposal of the old fence, which can cost up to $500 or more based on estimates I received from other vendors. The quality of the fence Dennis and his team did was excellent. The wood used was beautiful. Both us and our neighbors were truly pleased.

We recently built a new house on a 0.5 acre lot and needed a new fence. Dominion Fences & Decks gave a very reasonable bid for the type of fence and amount of work. I gave the owner Dennis the green light on construction on a Monday. The very next day, a crew was out at my house jackhammering post holes (our land is very rocky) and setting fence posts. Construction continued uninterrupted for the remainder of the week and by Saturday, our new fence was fully constructed and stained with top quality materials and workmanship! It was absolutely amazing to come home at the end of the day and see the progress that these guys had made and I could not be happier with the product and experience. I HIGHLY recommend their services to anyone looking for a similar project. My next door neighbor has already hired them based on the work that they did for me.

Wonderfully! The work was done in a single day, and they came back and hauled the remainder of the old fencing the next morning. The gates (which they threw in for free) are better than the ones that came with the house. I would definitely recommend these guys to anyone who asked me. Also, out of three estimates (all of which had "A" ratings on Angie's List), they were $500 lower than the other 2 (which were about the same). All in all, I'm a very happy camper.

They started a day late and were late upon arrival everyday after that. They also painted the fence with dirt on it so now the dirt is permanent.

On a good note, my first call to Dominion for an estimate was answered by the owner who met with me that day. He listened to my concerns about my two dogs and being on a corner lot. I was concerned that the gaps created once the fence pickets dried and shrunk might entice someone to try petting the animals. Dennis, suggested an overlapping fence with a cap and trim in those areas which bordered on streets, Between neighbors I would go with a regular picket fence. Three new gates would be installed where the present ones were. I agreed to the plan and in a few days work began. Quality treated wood was used to construct the new fence with posts solidly sunk in concrete. The gates were not pre-fab but built on site to fit the available opening. The hardware used will last a long time, not a flimsy product. To protect the fence I decided on a stain. As with all projects there will be glitches. I had some. But all it took was a phone call to the top notch owners/contractors of Dominion Fences and Decks to have the glitch corrected. All workmanship on the fence carries a warranty.

I am late making this review because of the turmoil of getting this house on the market to sell, but I've never forgotten my need to do so. Mr Rampersaud is a old-style professional--punctual; actually cares about his clients and provides a high-quality product at a fair price, and most important--he is true to his word! I would readily recommend his company to others, and I have already done so.

Dennis and his team completed the fence repairs to the satisfactory of myself and my neighbor, I appreciated his professionalism.

Removed and replaced aprox 174' of wood fence and 2 new gates. Put in new posts aprox every 8'. Put a treated 2 x 6 on the ground so cedar slats will last longer and weed eater won't eat the cedar up. That put the fence at 6' 6" high. Cleaned up and hauled off old fence. Looks great. Frendly, prompt and professional people. Dennis was great. Would recommend. He also answers his phone.

AMAZING! Mr. Dennis is a true professional. I originally called him to redo my deck and fencing in the back yard. He completed that job for less than the big box stores AND with integrity and common sense going above and beyond. I After a few good conversations with Dennis, I found out he is a jack of all trades! He has expertise in many things such as miscellaneous carpentry, electrical, basic roofing and even plumbing! I realized I needed help flushing my water heater. I called on Dennis and he said no problem! He fit me in his schedule same day and took care of my water heater. To confess, i had actually called root rooter out to fix a running toilet earlier, and while they were there I asked if they could flush my water heater. The root-tech seemed reluctant to address the water heater and charged over $200 to replace the "Thingy" inside the toilet. Boo. I didn't feel like the Roto guy did the job right so, remembering Dennis, I called to see if he could give me a second opinion. He came right out, brought a guy with specific plumbing expertise and took the time to explain everything and took care of the situation. they even fixed an outside leaky faucet that had been troubling me for years at no extra charge. I feel very comfortable with the advice Dennis gives. I highly recommend him for the big jobs as well as the small!

They were superb, and did very good work. They used quality material which included cedar and metal posts. They also took the time to stain the fence. I would highly recommend.

Dennis went above and beyond to take care of all of our needs. The quality of the fence he put up is second to none. I would not hesitate to use his service again.

perfect service , Mr Dennis came to the house on time and gave an estimate for the broken fence and schedule the service for the next day , the guyz came in the next on time and did an excellent job . I would recommend Mr.Dennis to anyone because he's really professional .

Our fence was beginning to fall apart and we used Angie's list to gather several quotes on replacing about 70 feet of fence and two gates. Dennis came and quoted the work. His was the most competitive and he was ready to work. He did not pressure us for the sale. When we accepted his bid, he started the next day, had all the fence down and hauled away and set the new posts. The following day his crew came and finished putting up the new fence. Great workmanship, great communications. I am very pleased with his work and would use him again.

The job went very well. They arrived as agreed, took out the old fencing. As agreed, installed metal posts and put up the new fencing, and stained it. This included two gates in the front. We are very satisfied with the job done.

All encompassing. Dennis took care of everything! From estimate to haul away to finished product and happy customer! Dennis was prompt in returning my initial phone call. he answered all my questions and addressed all my concerns. He came out for a free estimate. The property is a rental and I have been out of state. Dennis was able to describe what needed to be done and actually kept me informed on the situation by msging me pictures via cell phone. I was so happy that i was able to do business even though I was not able to physically be there. I have to tell you that to hire someone for a job for thousands of dollars without being able to be there takes a lot of trust! Dennis, certainly earned and kept that trust and I will absolutely hire him in the future for many of the jobs that need to be done around my property. I found out he does all kinds of woodwork and a few handy man services as well! My fence and a deck were rotted and had to be replaced. He demolished, hauled, constructed, painted and sealed them for me. It was so easy. I asked him to take a look at what was there and replace it- and he did! he thought of all the details I didn't think of, and his price was incredibly fair! When I comparison shopped at the big box store, it would have been almost double the price! Plus he takes special care of his Angie's List customers! He also has common sense. He alerted me to a few other things I wasn't aware of. Apparently a critter had chewed a hole in the wood siding of my house! YIKES! Dennis let me know about it, showed me pictures and he was able to fix the problem. Most people just do the minumum. Dennis did the job right, and for a fair price.

I spoke with him on the phone about the problems I have, and then made an appt for him to come out and take a look and give me an estimate. He rescheduled twice (the day of) and then the next appt he just never showed up. I got an apologetic voice mail the next day, which was nice (therefore a B in professionalism) but not redeeming.

Denis answered the phone immediately and came to see the fence at the time he agreed. It was a week where many fences has fallen so he had plenty of jobs. Other people had offered to come but never showed up. The very few times he got delayed he always answered the phone and made me feel confident that the job would be done.... And it definitely was! He offered a better option to what we had and built a sturdy fence. Him and his people were always respectful and hard working. As for the deck it looks so much better now! Our furniture was also washed and painted and it looks amazing! I would definitely use Dominion Decks again!

The fencing took longer to put up than expected, the main reason being the rainy weather. Dennis was very friendly; it is easy to feel comfortable with him and his business. His goal is to make customers happy.

Dennis responded quickly to the call for an estimate. He provided a competitive estimate and was the only one that offered a low price on cedar. He also washed my deck, which had never been stained or cleaned from its installation over 10 years ago. I thought the deck was irreparable and was told by others that it would be better to remove it. Dennis was able to restore the original wood color. He did the job in one morning.

I had replaced 125' of wooden basket weave fence and a gate at my residence. Denis and his two man crew arrived on time and worked diligently and professionally. They tore down the old fence and posts the first day and replaced all the 15 posts. The second day they eradicated the new fence which they made approximately 6-8" higher for more privacy without changing the price. They widened the gate entrance making it more accessible . I was very impressed by the quality of wood (all teated) and workmanship this team performed. Don't get fooled by their name,"Dominion". They do quality work for average costs......call them and you will see for yourself! I already called him back and will have them stain the fence so I can preserve this beautiful fence!!!

We interviewed three Angie's List fence companies, all with good ratings. Prices were the same. Picked Dennis because he seemed like a nice guy. It's hard to put into words how bad our experience was. He and a crew came out fast. Blasted through the job. Finished at sundown on the second day. Next morning we could see why they were able to finish so fast. Half the fence boards were crooked, split, etc. Four months and dozens of calls later we are still trying to get him to finish the re-work. Strongly recommend using someone else.

The price is reasonable. They were prompt, took my questions seriously, answered them and made suggestions. The owner was very cordial. I would recommend them to others.

We received quotes from a few contractors but were really impressed with Dominion from the beginning. While Dominion's quote was competitive, we were impressed with the professionalism and "personalism" of Dennis. In addition, he approached the opportunity as though it was his own home. The only reason I gave a B for punctuality was because we ran into some issues with the weather / Fiesta that required us to proactively reach out to Dominion to get status. Let's talk about quality. We recently moved here from Ohio. Growing up, I worked for a few years as an Amish construction crew driver / tender - some of the best wood craftsmen in the United States. While I had high expectations for Dominion on the quality of the fence, they were completely exceeded. The selection of cedar and the method of the fence construction was top-notch - they know how to build a good fence. I will be calling Dominion in the future when we replace the rest of our fence. In addition, since the fence has been constructed, we have had at least two neighbors comment on the quality and ask if we will share who did the fence - which we will!

He provided an explicit cost estimate which provided the best value of all the bids which were acquired. - The project was forecasted to go over a three day period and that was done exactly as promised. - Dennis provided outstanding oversight on every phase of the project, ensuring it was done as promised with outstanding quality and timeliness. - All of his employees were extremely courteous and skilled at their task. - The neighbors on the adjoining lots were equally impressed with how well the job was done, both in terms of cost and performance. One commented he had recently done part of his own fencing at a cost per foot greater than what Dominion had done it for. Plus he had the added bonus of "no shoulder pains"!!

The fence turned out beautiful. There were a few small hiccups throughout the project but they followed through on all requests. He was very open to my concerns. The end product turned out great. We have received several compliments on the fence.
