Dennis came and gave us the estimate. After we agreed to his estimate, he scheduled a start date. He was delayed a couple of times due to rain and truck problems, but the fence was completed in a timely manner. The fence, itself, is beautiful, and we are very pleased with it. However, the workers were sloppy with the concrete when setting the posts. There was dried concrete and rocks well outside the area of the posts. They were careless with our flagstone hardscape, broke several pieces and left dirt and rocks on top of some of it. Some pieces were dug up, and they did not reset those. They made some effort to clean up, but it was not satisfactory. We called for them to return to do more cleanup, which they did. There was some improvement, but we would like for it to have been better. At that point, we gave up and decided to do it ourselves. Overall, we are very pleased with the fence but felt we had to mark Dominion down a bit because of the nonsatisfactory clean-up and the damage to our flagstone.

I called Mr. Rampersaud in March and got a reasonable telephone estimate to do some work in Castroville. Two weeks ago I called and scheduled the work for Monday, 29 April. On Friday, 26 April I called Mr. Rampersaud to confirm Monday's work. He asked if I could do it on Tuesday. I could not. I'd already taken the day off, and had a Dr. appointment on 30 April. He said he'd be by after lunch. It's 3:05pm and no one has showed up or called. I'm tempted to send Mr. Rampersaud a bill for $357 for the nine hours of vacation time I wasted today. The fact that he never even called to tell me that 4/29 would be an issue makes me wonder if he ever had any intent of showing up today. Fine way to run a business.

He went above and beyond original job so it was done right!

Found Dominion here and called in the morning and talked with owner, Dennis. Had section of fence and gate that was blown down in recent storm. He came out same day, met me at the appointed time and gave me an estimate for either repair or replace. I decided to move forward and he and his team replaced the entire section of the fence and even did a little work for my neighbor. They did a great job, very solid work, cleaned up everything...couldn't be happier.

I'm terribly disappointed in the lack of professionalism he has shown in not completing the job. Since I had posted such a positive review about our initial experience, I thought it only fair to post a follow up so Angie's List members would get the full picture.

Dennis at Dominion fence was very good. The same day I called ,Dennis came to my house and gave me an estimate. The work was done ahead of schedule and the work was quality. I would recommend.

The recent wind storms had knocked down some fence segments and sheared off some posts. Turns out the builder, Wall Homes, used landscape timbers instead of 4x4 treated posts to build the fence. Dennis brought his crew in and replaced 25 posts and even rebuilt my gate (surprised me!). He promised to finish in one day, and he did. The only negative was that there was a bit of a problem with scheduling the work, communication up front could be improved. I would abslutely use Dominion again.

Dennis took an exceptionally long time to complete the first phase of the project (a wooden fence around the backyard). They were several delays and many phone calls to coordinate him completing the project. Once completed he required a down payment ( Approx $1200) for the materials for an iron gate, the second part of the project. He told us he would drop off the materials the next day or two. We never saw him again. We called him several times to either return our money, deliver the material or complete the job as promised. We never received an adequate response. In the end he took our money. We then filed suit and took him to small claims court. Judgement was in our favor and Dennis was ordered to return our down payment. We have never heard from him or have received payment, to this day, for the judgement owed to us.

I called Dennis on a Saturday morning to set up an estimate. He came out on Monday and quoted a price of $1360 ($16/ft). I agreed, and work began the following Saturday. The job went smoothly, and the fence looks fantastic. I'm particularly impressed by the triple horizontal runner--I've never seen that before, and it should help prevent warping. I opted for the added expense of a sealant, which really makes the fence "pop." Several neighbors have asked me who did the work. This was definitely a situation where being an Angie's List member paid off. Demolition of the old fence and the new gate were free with the Angie's List coupon!

Dennis did a super job. He was on time, knew his business, provided a complete estimate and made great suggestions as we talked. The work was completed in the timeframe originally projected, for the price quoted. The workers were very qualified and cleaned as they went. Upon completion, Dennis and I inspected the work and he made sure I was satisfied. An excellent experience. Highly recommend Dominion Fences and Decks.

On three separate occasions we would set up an appointment and they would never show up.

. The quality of workmanship was excellent. The fence looks great and my parent's are beyond pleased with the result as am I.

Dennis the owner, is very professional. He only has three employees which I liked, and they are his only employees. The price Dennis came and quoted me was the price I paid. His crew also stained and sealed my fence BEAUTIFULLY! I have a pretty big backyard and his quote for the fence and stain was less than the other two quotes I got from other companies and after seening photos of his work, I was sold. Less than a week after getting the quote, they started on my fence and just five days later they were finished crafting my new fence... plus one extra day for the stain- the same ammount of days he originally told me it would take. Dennis also came back a few days after when there had been a crazy wind storm and extra secured my double gate- free of charge which I really appreciated. He also came back weeks later and picked up more of the concrete that was left where my old fence once was. He & his crew have done a very good job at crafting my fence and I am grateful every day when I walk into my backyard.

We were impressed by Dominion Decks and Fencing from the very start of our project. They took our call the first day that we called and we out within 24 hours to look at the fence and provide estimates. While their estimate came within a few dollars of the competition, we originally decided to go with a different company because they were a little cheaper and would be providing an extra baseboard. Much to our surprise, Dennis was the ONLY contractor to make a follow-up call to see if we had made a decision. I was honest with him and let him know that another company would likely get our job because with their discount, they were less money and were providing the base board on the high side of ouy yard. Dennis said he really wanted our business and his guys needed work and promised to beat the other company's price and add the baseboard. He also promised us other extras. We had no idea what that meant until the work began. His guys got to work within the week and tore out half of the existing fence and began setting posts - nice and deep with plenty of concrete despite the hard rocky ground we have here. Within the next week, he and his guys installed the most beautiful cedar fence you can imagine. They did not charge us for the gates in front and when Dennis saw that we have a young toddler, he asked if he could install a gate in the back of the fence where our property butts up against a playground for the neighborhood. We agreed and he said he would do it for free so our daughter could go play any time she wants. The gates were lovely and have three hinges and lock from the inside. He also decided to protect our fence and provided a base board around the entire yard at no additional cost and when he had to order taller boards for the gates, he did not charge us for those either. We were not going to seal the fence due to the added cost but the quality of work, the beauty of the fence and the fact that Dennis decided to let us pay for the stain over the course of a few months after the project was completed led to us staining and sealing the fence too. We are so pleased with the work he and Dominion did that we would highly recommend them to anyone. UPDATE: I am having some regret about initially posting such a positive rating about Dennis after he completed our fence project. He finished very quickly however, after completion, we noticed that one of the posts near a gate was not set properly and that the particular section of fence attached to it was very loose. We called Dennis and he did send someone out to fix it but instead of properly setting the post, he attempted to nail it to the artificial siding on our house which didn't work or hold. The fence is still wobbling and very flimsy. We have called Dennis and texted him no less than about 15 times since Feb. Each time, he has told us that he would be out the next day or within the week and he has not come. The fence is not fixed and it is May. His receipt says that his work is guaranteed but unfortunately, as we have found, he is not guaranteed to show. I wanted to post this review so that other Angie's List members know about his lack of professionalism and unreliability.

The product was very good but I felt I was ripped off. The quote was never adjusted when he only had to build the fence on one side instead of both sides. I felt he should have caught this change. They also did not clean up after themselves. There were nails left in the yard and there were holes left in the yard. I would not use him in the future.

I am very happy with the quality of my new fence. When I showed Dennis that I needed to address a drainage issue (the property is on a slight slope), he provided the recommendation on how I should address it. His crew built an 18" retaining wall using treated 2X12's, then built the fence on top of that. He used Schedule 40 galvanized metals poles (at my request) and buried them and extra 1 foot (again, at my request) to provide additional stability. Dennis was very accommodating to my request and built exactly what I wanted. Again, I am very happy with the quality of the new fence.

It was very pleasant to work with them. Connie, the dispatcher, contacted Chris, the plumber, and he arrived in a timely manner. He was very professional in his approach, had the needed part, and resolved the problem efficiently. I was especially grateful that he did not try to sell me any more work. This is the biggest problem that we have faced with plumbers. I strongly recommend this company. They are small and fairly new, and are eager to establish a base in this market. You will get good care from them.

Work was efficient and appropriate based on best construction standards . . . best materials, all new posts (set deeply with concrete) at shorter intervals to guarantee strength and durability . . . this included three horizontal support boards and base or foot boards when best to fit land contour . . . I can 't say enough about the quality of the work . . .

Dennis came out the day that I called and fixed the fence the very next day. He was in the middle of a big job but took time away from that job to fix my fence because of a dangerous situation involving aggressive dogs on the other side of the fence who were breaking the boards trying to get through. I have a 5 year old, an 8 year old and a 10 pound dog. I was very concerned about the situation and was not letting my children or dog in the backyard because I was genuinely afraid the 80-90 pound dogs would break through the fence at any moment. I feel 100% safer now that he has taken care of the situation. I cannot say enough good things about him and his company. Many, many thanks!

I called Dominion Fence and got an estimate from them and after negotiation, we agreed on a price. The fence was going around our entire yard to replace an old fence and to safeguard an inn-ground pool we were having installed. I was satisfied with the job they did on the fence but before the project started the owner, Dennis, recommended a guy he knows to do the concrete around my pool, Jay (Jorge) Garcia. This guy was the absolute worst contractor I have ever encountered!! He came and gave me an estimate on the concrete to go around the pool and installing the coping tiles around the pools and said he had done this work before and agreed to everything I asked. I decided to go with him since he was recommended by someone with such a good rating on Angies List. My mistake was not getting everything in writing. Huge mistake, if you ever hear this guy's name, don't walk, RUN!!!. After I gave him $2000 deposit to start the job he comes back and says the bid did not include installing the coping around the pool and added $1600 to the bid, not counting me paying for the tiles. The guy he had install those tiles was a 69 year old guy who had never done it before, was dropping mortar in our new pool and would take breaks in the middle of our pool drinking a beer!! Needless to say the coping job around the pool was terrible. When it came time to the pour for the patio I was told 3 different times the pour would be the next day and took days of work to be there but then Jay would not show up!! At the end of the job the guy refused to take the pile of trash we agreed at the beginning and I continually asked about during the job that he had agreed to and when I told him I was not going to make the final payment until he did so, he threatened to start breaking the patio apart. He scared my wife so we paid him in full just to get him away from us!!! And Dennis then said that, "Well, it was our decision to go with him." Dennis had agreed to take the trash Jay left to smoth things over but ended up leaving half of it on the other side of his fence where I could not see it but I found a few days later. Doesn't anybody do what they say they are going to do anymore!!!!???? I am satisfied with the fence but it was not a good overall experience. I have updated this review to a B after a very uncomfortable phone call from the contractor where he insisted he was not responsible for the work provided by another contractor he recommended. I suppose that is true. Just beware, do not use J. Garcia if this contractor tries to recommend him for work on your project.

Dennis was very prompt. He came to give an estimate on the day I called and his team performed the work the very next day. They even did extra work (repaired a gate latch) that wasn't asked of them. They were very prompt, courteous and cleaned up after themselves. I would most definitely highly recommend this company.

There was some miscommunication, but that was largely due to me starting the discussion with them, and my husband finishing up. Sometimes I wondered if they were actually going to show up on a given day, but they always did, eventually.

I noticed the issue on Sunday 8/19/12. Called Chris at 7:10am on 8/20/12. He picked up and was at my house by 8am. I think he was en route elsewhere and changed his plans to come help me. He provided a temporary fix to the line and ran a camera down to check where the blockage was originating. When he further diagnosed the issue, he suggested running a jetter through the line to really clear out the root growth. He didn't have the jetter equipment with him but came to my house later on the same day to perform the service. He gave me a discount on the jetter service and didn't even change me for the initial work he did in the morning to clear the line. His wife Connie who does the bookkeeping is very friendly and they make a great team.

I received outstanding service from this contractor. The owner (Dennis Rampersaud) personally came to my house to provide an estimate for some wooden fence repairs in my backyard. We agreed on a price and he completed the work the very next day. Mr. Rampersaud personally supervised the job to ensure that everything was done right. It’s a pleasure to deal with such an honest and professional contractor with highly skilled employees. Very highly recommended!!

We found Dennis and Dominion Fences on Angies list. Dennis answered immediately came the same day to give us an estimate. Several other contractors we called either never called us back or said they were not accepting new clients. Dennis gave us the same pricing as another person who had done work for us previously but the quality of the materials was far superior. The first bid was for treated wood basket weave fence, Dennis did a 6 f tx 8inch wide red cedar privacy fence for the same price. We have two very large dogs and a difficult neighbor on one side and Dennis and his team tore down our old fence installed the pickets and replaced the new fence within 2 days! It rained no more than 30 minutes after they finished and Dennis had to wait to the fence dried to stain. As soon as a few days had passed he called to schedule and specially mixed the color to meet my taste. The fence is beautifully done, with a gate on either side of the house. The quality is exceptional! It was so good that while Dennis was here we started talking about adding a deck onto our above ground pool. Dennis suggested we should turn the back yard into our own private retreat. We sat down and designed a deck and pergola with a flag stone patio. Our daughters graduation was approaching quickly and Dennis worked a miracle and got our deck completed and ready to go for her big pool party. He did it all within 4 days! He was so wonderful they even stained our cedar deck box to match the rest of our wood. I am sitting here now under my new pergola looking out over the deck and pool and cannot tell you how this company transformed our back yard and enriched our quality of life this summer. So far i have one friend who has used Dennis to replace her fence with great results and 3 others are looking at having Pergola's installed. WARNING: quality work this nice makes people gravitate to your back yard be ready to be the house that hosts all of the functions this summer!
