Phenomenally well. The initial consultation was thorough with the addition of several features we had not thought of. We were given a no hassle quote and not pressured in the least. The agreement was pay upon completion, no arguments. Once we gave the go ahead the lumbar was delivered in a week (Friday) work started on Monday. The only slight delay was when he decided the posts that were delivered where not up to his standards so he loaded them up and returned the next day with perfect posts.

Could not have been a better experience! From comments by my HOA on how detailed the plan was to post construction clean-up, I could not be more pleased! Charlie and his crew not only started work on time, they were usually camping out early waiting to get started. Deck turned out better than I expected: Good quality materials with top notch fit and finish (all edges routed, long straight board runs with no joints). Very rare these days but, this crew does exactly what they promise with no excuses. If you need a deck and Charlie is busy at that time, wait for him and don't risk getting less than you should.

I was referred to Charles from a neighbor and contacted him on a Friday afternoon. Saturday morning he was at the house to provide recommendations and a quote. His expertise and experience led us to selecting the perfect deck for our family. Charles was on site that Wednesday and by Friday afternoon we were lounging by the pool on our brand new deck. His design and craftsmanship far exceeded what we thought a pool deck could be. Our deck is now the main focal point in our backyard and we couldn't be happier! Thanks Charles!!!

Charlie built 2 decks for me in 2016. Charlie did exactly what he said he would do, started work on the agreed upon day and the work was completed on time with no interruption.I would hire Deck the House again for future projects.

Charles was on time for our initial meeting and very helpful with planning the details of the deck. He got the bid to us quickly. He and his crew started the job on time and finished on time. There were a couple of follow-up issues that arose after we had paid Charles for the job, and he came out and resolved them promptly. We had been very satisfied with the whole process, and the deck is great!

I had several contractors come and look at my deck and give quotes. Charlie at Deck the House seemed to have the best grasp on what needed to be done along with the best price. Charlie was responsive, fair, and thoughtful throughout the entire month long process. Since this is a second home, Charlie sent us pictures at the end of each day to keep me informed of the process. I felt like Charlie treated my property like it was his own. I would highly recommend Charlie and am extremely pleased with the final product. I will definitely use him again in the future!

I called on Tuesday to ask about problems with our porch roof and the gentleman who answered the phone was very nice and very friendly. An appointment was set up for Saturday at 9am, but unfortunately he did not show up, and no phone call was received to inform me that he was unable to make it or reschedule.

I took 4 other bids and definitely made the correct choice. The proposal was simple and straight forward with no hidden costs. Making minor changes was easy and without extra cost in most cases. Charles did an excellent job for us. The design and quality of his work exceeded my expectations. He had to work around some weather issues with rain and was in constant communication with me regarding a timeline for starting and completing the work. Charlie knows his business and it was obvious to me that he had significant experience. He was punctual and started every day at 7:30 am and left by around 5 pm each day. I had received several other bids and it was quickly transparent to me that I wanted to have Charles do our project. This was based on his professionalism, his fair price for the work, and I knew within 5 minutes of initially meeting him that I was dealing with an honest person that knew what he was doing. I would definitely use him again and would recommend him to a friend or family member. I appreciate everyone previous to me for their reviews of Charles on Angie's List as I selected him to provide a bid based on that information. He was on the job for the entire project with the exception of the electrical work for the ceiling fan that he subcontracted to one of his business associates who also did an excellent job.

I have nothing but good things to say about my experience with Deck the House. Charles Wells came out to give me an estimate along with a detailed draft of his proposed work. Once we settled on a start date, Charles was always on time and completed the work well within the timeframe of his estimate. The finished product is excellent. Charles built a 15x15 deck with railings and steps on two separate sides of the deck. My previous deck did not have hand railings and I was originally thinking to leave them off of the new deck, but Charles's commented that it might look more like a platform, rather than an actual deck. I'm glad I went with his suggestion and included the handrails as they define the space very nicely. Charles delivered detailed workmanship, attention to detail and on-time performance. I have no hesitation in recommending Deck the House as my experience was excellent.

Charles and his worker did all the work in one week. Back deck took 5 full days. Excellent service. Front deck ended in middle of window so Charles lengthened to keep my wife happy. Very professional.

Charles and his crew were truly amazing. When other companies said the kind of deck I wanted couldn't be built, he found no problem. He and his crew were able to quickly build a deck around a hot tub and a bridge to the area. The quality of the work was great. Site maintenance after the build was also top notch. Charles is absolutely incredible! My husband is very anal retentive and never seems completely satisfied with any project we have done. Not only was he pleased, he was blown away. He immediately starting thinking of other projects to have done because the quality of Charles work is outstanding. The detailing that he did was so thoughtful and the price simply cannot be beat.

I would not hesitate calling Charles for any outdoor decking work. He built a large deck at my last residence and added decking around a pool that i had installed at a later time. The addition he built for us this time matched the existing design perfectly. As always, Charles listened to what we wanted and designed the perfect deck. He was prompt and cleared the work site upon completion. You'll not find better pricing.

Charles and his crew of 2 were great to work with. We had decided that our old deck was not worth even trying to salvage and to just have it torn out and a new deck built instead. Charles came out and gave us a very reasonable quote for tearing out the old monster of a deck and building a new one. Once we decided to go forward, we contacted him and he gave us a timetable for when the wood would be delivered and how long it would take to tear out the old and build the new. We made a couple of changes before work even started and he was completely unruffled when I made a last-minute change to how we wanted the ramp built after work had started, even though it meant an extra trip to the lumber yard for him. He also wasn't bothered by my constant picture-taking. They were always on-time, did great work and cleaned everything up when they were done, even putting the things we wanted, like our table and chairs, on the new deck for us when the work was done. From the first phone call to the last nail, Charlie was friendly, courteous, and professional. In 3 days and not the best conditions (rain, mud, hills and rocks) Charlie and his crew of 1 with an extra helper one day, built a beautiful elevated wrap around deck! Our house offered some challenges being an elevated pier and beam home. Charlie took the time to plan and adjust the build in order to avoid later issues. The finished product is beautiful and will provide us many years of enjoyment ! I highly recommend Deck the House and would not hesitate to use Charlie again!

Charles showed up on time for the quote. He provided an estimate the same day. Once we decided to go forward with the project, Charles had the wood delivery scheduled within a day or two and told us the delivery date. The wood was delivered the afternoon the day before the job was scheduled to start. Charles showed on the day scheduled and completed the project that day. He left the the work area clean and neat. The finished job looks great. My wife was very, very pleased. She said, ?Make sure you give Charles a great review.? Charles a retired veteran. The entire experience with Charlie Wells was excellent from the moment of initial contact to completion of the project. I decided to first contact him after doing my research on Angie's List. I went to his Website one evening and contacted him via email and included my phone number expecting a call the next day or so. Within the hour I received a call and we set up a visit for him to do an estimate for us. On the morning that he came for the estimate, he was on time (even a bit early)! He was attentive to what we were looking for with the design, and offered some good suggestions. We took some and rejected others, but he left the decisions up to us without problem. He promised to have the estimate and design emailed to us that evening, and sure enough it arrived as promised. I thought the estimate was very reasonable, and had a couple of additional questions. Charlie was always open and responsive to my questions (I didn't have that many, really). We set up a week for construction to begin. Charlie explained the process to us....the building materials arrive on Monday, and he starts to work first thing on Tuesday morning, which it did. After each evening of work, Charlie cleaned the work area and departed around 4:30. He was always at work early the next morning. By Thursday afternoon, the project was complete! The worksite was cleaned, and the patio was just as we had hoped. Pros: Charlie does the construction, it is not contracted out. He is onsite and responsible. He is prompt.
