Dan The Computer Man

Besides moving my extensive business files - quickly and efficiently -he helped set up the classic shell program so that I could easily use my computer like Windows 7 if I chose to do so. He gave other helpful tips along the way and was willing to answer all my questions. He has also helped me at some of my other businesses and I would never call anyone else for computer issues. I am extremely happy with his work.

Dan tuned up my computer, made it faster, removed advertising software, fixed broken links and set up an automatic backup. I am so pleased with how the computer works now and the time Dan spent talking to me about why it wasn't working. This was time and money well spent! Thank you Dan!

Dan cleaned out my computer and my husbands computer. Dan is a very patient man and an excellent teacher. It's quite evident that he enjoys his craft. This was the first time Dan worked on my husband's computer --- and he was especially pleased with Dan's mild demeanor and teaching. Ten 0' Clock last night found my husband still at his computer. One day my computer started sparking inside and sounding like the 4th of July; I knew this couldn't be good. Sure enough it died after 5 plus years of faithful service. So I quickly jumped on Angie's list and looked up a top rated computer repairman near my house. Dan was highly rated and with a name like Dan the Computer Man, I figured I've got to give him a call. I described my problem over the phone and scheduled an appointment. Dan arrived on time and had the hardware necessary to either fix my problem or rescue the data from my hard drive. He was very methodical in his approach to troubleshooting my system and explained what he was doing as he progressed. He hooked up a new power supply without fully installing to test if that was the fault, and it was (yea!). He then installed the power supply, tested the system and it worked (much to my relief). I had not been very good about backing up my hard drive so my biggest fear was that I had lost all my data, some of which was irreplaceable (pictures). So Dan offered to set up an automatic hard drive backup to my external drive. He then cleaned up my system by reducing the number of programs that run in the background, thus slowing down it's performance. I was impressed so I had him do the same for my wife's laptop. Now we now longer have to turn on the laptop and do something else while waiting for it to boot up. Bottom line: I was very satisfied with service provided and would definitely recommend Dan to friends, family and fellow Angie's Listers. Dan is the Computer Man!

Dan diagnosed and corrected a frustrating problem we had with our wireless network. Now all of our devices, including the DVD, connect to the internet dependably. Dan showed up on time, was very professional, and answered all of my questions in terms that I could understand. Update Jan. 24, 2014; everything is still connecting automatically. Haven't had to reboot the router or the modem even once.

Dan arrived on time and immediately set about powering up the new computed and transferring all the info from the old computer. He explained each and every step before he performed it. He asked questions to determine exactly how we wanted the new computer set up. He did not speak geek and made everything understandable to the average lay person. Professional, courteous, very knowledgeable all describe him. I would not hesitate to recommend him and I will definitely use his services in the future.

He's the best guy I've had. I thought that everything about him was very satisfactory. he showed up when he said he would and he seemed to know what he was doing. He's my computer guy.

/Dan arrived with a greeting and a smile - asking what problems we're having with the computer. I explained my frustration as best I could. Dan addressed each concern on our list, explaining each solution to every problem before and during each correction. Dan is mild mannered. He has never been in a hurry when servicing our computer. Dan was even able to print out important , professional forms that had to be turned in by today (11/07/2014). The secretary was so very impressed with the forms when I turned them in on yesterday (11/06/2014). She said she was going to show them to the other secretary. Dan was even able to save us some money - advising that our present anti-virus protection still has about one - third protection left on it at this time. As usual Dan left our computer in tip top shape. Only Dan has serviced our computer for the past several years - It goes without saying "Dan is very mild mannered,. dependable, and extremely knowledgeable regarding computers and peripherals.' We always enjoy Dan's visits. He is the Consumate Teacher.

Dan was prompt in responding to my request for service on Angie's List and solved issues I was having with my email server. He cleaned up the computer deleting programs no longer needed, etc. This resulted in a noticeable mprovement in its performance. He was professional, knowledgeable and helpful in educating me on how to avoid basic computer problems.

Outstanding visit. I recommend Dan Vogler for in-home computer repairs/setups. He arrived on time, fully explained all corrective actions, and answered all my questions. Don't be concerned about his $90 per hour rate because Dan is very efficient and accomplished a considerable amount of work in the 2.5 hours that he worked on my five year old computer. I had spent about $2000.00 on my relatively high-end laptop and Mr. Vogler's repairs saved me the purchase of a new computer. I have been using the computer for five days since his repairs and it works like new. He even installed software on my PC so that the Windows 8 start page now has the Windows 7 drop down appearance. This is a nice convenience for someone who is yet to appreciate Windows 8. Another subtle benefit of doing business with Dan the Computer Man is that when I first called him he spent a good amount of time on the phone discussing whether or not I should hire him or just purchase a new computer. It was not a hard sell or snow job. He clearly and logically explained my alternatives. The repair decision was mine and it was the right one.

Dan made a list of my wife's concerns and went over them to determine exactly what she wanted done. She sat at his side as he went over each issue, explaining what he was doing and asking her how she wanted to arrange files and programs. This was a great help for my wife as she was able to follow along and be familiar where everything was. He got her e-mail working correctly, also her 1500 member Family Tree Maker to find all it's files and got the I Tunes back!!!!! He was a hero! His professional demeanor made my wife very comfortable and she was able to follow him through the process with confidence. This was the best money we have ever spent on computer assistance. Dan will be the only call that we make in the future for any computer question. A solid 10!!!

Dan solved several problems with my laptop without putting it back to factory settings. He knew where to go to solve my browser issues, my Yahoo! mail issues, and several other issues. He was patient and easy to understand. He recommended freeware to use to help with some of my photo-editing issues, etc. Dan was on time, professional and was worth his fee. I tried to keep a list of things in the days leading up to his appointment and had most of my questions written down. I recommend him highly and will use him again.

All three computers were completely out of whack. Besides were drowning with malwared ads. He worked for 2 1/2 hours and make them all like new. He installed antiviral progrfams on all three.

Dan arrived on time with his smile, and went right to work installing Norton antivirus along with cleaning out our computer. As Mr. Vogler assessed each part of our computer he explained what he was doing and why. Dan answered all our questions in relaxed laymen's terms. I had a list of computer concerns that Dan has now resolved. Our computer runs like it is brand new. Dan has been taking care of our computers for about three years now. It went great. He explained everything he was doing.He was direct and to the point. He was very professional, informative, and friendly. His efficiency with and knowledge of computers is amazing. I would highly recommend him.

Dan was here for one hour and he found that somewhere in the system, things had gotten crossed and it was trying to feed one thing while it was feeding something else and consequently, most of the time, I could not get online with it. Whatever he did straightened all that out internally. I do not know how he did it but anyway, he resolved it and then my computer got back like it was when it was almost new. He did a pretty good job. He is very through at what he does and at how he goes about it. He explains step by step what he is going to do before he does it to make sure that you are okay with it because he could do things. He was very good. If my computer decides to act crazy again, I would consider calling him out. In fact, I have his card on the top of my stack.

It was a good experience. The only thing was that Dan was like an hour late, but other than that, the service was good and everything was fixed up. He charged me probably between $200 and $300. I would probably not use his services again in the future.

He is very busy so it is best if you can call in advance for an appointment. If you are having an emergency he will do his best to get you an appointment immediately. He is supberb at what he does. His prices are reasonable.
