D2 Door Refinishing

Dave's tech Ky did an outstanding job refinishing our EXTREMELY weathered front door. We honestly had concerns going in as to how well the door would come out. However, Ky meticulously removed the existing finish, sanded the surface, and applied stain and three coats of satin finish clear coat. We couldn't be more pleased with how it came out.

I received an email with a quote and detailed information regarding the door refinishing process the same day that I reached out for a quote, a technician came out the next day. The technician was on time, he gave us a detailed explanation of what he was going to do. He removed the door, covered the opening and refinished the door. The finished door looks like new! The technician did a great job!. Dave called us after the job was finished to make sure we were satisfied with the results. A pleasant experience from start to finish. Highly recommended.

Did a great job! Were diligent and careful with their work. Protected the opening to the home while working. Stripped and sanded the double doors and refinished. Very pleased!

Dave and his daughter were very punctual and professional. They took down the front door and put up a temporary barrier for the duration of their work. The door was stripped, sanded by hand and refinished. Their work was superb!

The job was well done and the doors look great. My only regret is not shopping around for a lower price.

I had a door replaced under warranty, and wanted a reliable company to stain and seal it. I wasn't disappointed! Dave and his son-in-law Jerry are top notch. They come on time, do a great job and charge a fair price. Highly recommend D2 refinishing, and will use them again.

Dave, the owner, spent time on the phone with me explaining the process and the results I would get. We schedule a date and his worker showed up on time and managed to complete the door in a timely manner even with roofers delivering shingles for a new roof. The new door finish matches the inside exactly and looks great. Before he left he told me how to take care of the door to maximize its durability. I would highly recommend this company and will use them again if needed in the future.

Most of the job was well done. They came in work designed t-shirts which was in sharp conrast to another company. The door was completely stripped and refinished. I had hoped for a lighter color, however I'm mot sure that's possible without a white wash. They did a good job but my door needs a white wash. When I contracted I knew they did not do white wash but thought the natural oak would be fine. Their work was well done but if I refinish again I will get a company that does white wash.

I spoke to Dave the owner and he thoroughly explained the whole process from beginning to end. I scheduled an appointment immediately and he was able to fit me in quite quickly. His team turned up on time and managed to complete the door even with a downpour that wasn't supposed to happen until much later in the day. They left the area clean and the new door finish matches the inside exactly and looks fantastic. Before they left we were told how to take care of the door. I would highly recommend this company.

Excellent -- crew showed up exactly at time stated; work done was professional and quality job. Took extra care in removing and replacing doors and advised me on care and maintaining the look. Very courteous and professional team (2 members) who took no breaks and worked straight through. Would recommend them to anyone. Unaware of cost as insurance company taking care of the repair.

Everything was great. All of the work was done in a few hours, and we couldn't be happier with the results. The price was reasonable.

I originally contacted Dave 7 months ago and told him I had water seeping through the wood doors, not from the weather stripping areas. He came out and told me I had delamination issues and should contact the manufacturer for replacement. I asked him if they were repairable; yes they are, but I should pursue warranty because that was the real issue. Well after many months back and forth with the builder and manufacturer of the doors, bottom line they weren't going to replacement them. Contacted Dave again, since we have been hit hard with rain storms in Texas, to see if the damage was still repairable. Dave came out again and inspected them again; yes they are still salvageable. His team came out two weeks later and within one day, stripped, stained (Darker at my request at no extra cost), sealed all the seams of possible water entry, and then applied the UV Coating to both doors. Doors look amazing, can't stop looking at them every time I pull into the driveway. Dave gives a 1 year full labor and material warranty. His team even said they will follow-up after the next big rain storm to see if all the leakage stopped and they would reseal if needed at no cost to me.

Dave of D2 Doors came the same day I called to look at our badly faded, cracked front door. He explained the process and products they would use. He offered an Angies List member discount as well. The team showed up on time on the scheduled day, with the requested stain. They removed the door and covered the gap with a fastened tarp to keep my cats inside. Over the next few hours, they sanded, glued, and stained the knotty alder door. They applied several coats of satin finish, sanding between each one. They rehung the door and re-installed the hardware. It looks great. Dave also fixed a few doors that were not closing properly. Each one needed something different and he showed me the techniques used for them. At no extra charge! D2 Doors staff are competent, efficient and personable. I will use them again and recommend them to my neighbors.

I had seen a positive posting by a neighbor on Next Door and decided to call David Bailey the owner of D2. He came right over and gave me a very reasonable estimate and scheduled my service. He was very prompt and did an amazing job repairing and refinishing my front door. David is very polite and you can tell he takes pride in his work to deliver superior customer service. I would highly recommend him to anyone.

Workers called to let me know they would be late, but still finished the entire job in one day. They did an excellent job and were very helpful in deciding on the exact stain for my solid mahogany doors.

When I called for an estimate I got an excellent explanation of how the job would be done in just what it would cost very pleasant no problem. Made an appointment, they came right on time and explained what they were doing. There are wrought iron grates over the glass on the doors which were difficult to remove but the gentleman did a great job getting them off, I know it wasn't easy. They got right to work and got it all done . My only issue is that I would have liked the stain to have been darker, but they would have had to do a second coat, and they didn't have time for that. The doors look beautiful.

Great job! Highly recommend D2 Door Refinishing. Easy scheduling, arrived on time, got the job done and cleaned up in around 5 hours. They use materials that the average homeowner would not be able to get (the spray on coating). Careful masking, sanding and restaining. Very pleased with their work highly recommend them.

Excellent experience with D2 Door Refinishing! Mr. Dave Bailey (owner) was quick to reply to my initial query, provided a detailed estimate, and stayed in touch until a date could be scheduled. Bryan and Meredith (husband and wife team) arrived promptly, described their process, and got to work quickly. They did a great job keeping dust out of the house while they were working, and ensured a thorough cleanup when they were done. I had been concerned about the job finishing on time due to an evening engagement, but in fact they were able to finish early as compared to the initial time estimate. Before departing, Bryan provided recommendations for maintaining the beautiful new finish. Mr. Bailey himself followed up a few days later to ensure everything was completed satisfactorily. I am very happy with everything about working with this company; definitely recommend to others.

I needed to redo our exterior doors due to sun and weather exposure. Checked with AL and found a local guy with good reviews. I had previously tried to work on them myself, but terrible result. I talked to Dave on the phone Friday and he explained what needed to be done and an estimate and we made an appointment for Monday 8AM. He arrived with his crew promptly and on time Monday and went to work. I am a day sleeper and Dave was very considerate to not disturb me even though there was a great amount of work to be done removing all the doors, sanding, preparing, staining, finishing re-hanging etc. I woke up about 2:30 PM and I expected to see a crew still at it and to my surprise no one was here and the doors were not only dried and finished, they were already re-hung! Beautiful hardwood doors again like when we first built the home only much higher quality finish.

The owners came out and provided advice on how to restore our sun damaged entrance door. They offered a flexible appointment schedule that accommodated our work schedule. They performed the work on a Sunday! The door looks better than brand new!

Bryan did a job which was beyond superb, almost a full days job, the door was completed stripped down to the bare wood and refinished. No reservations' what the work was good!

I had done some research on Angie's List for door refinishing. I found D2Door and looked at the reviews. Called and spoke with David, the owner, and he came out the same day to look at my front door.He fully explained the process and warranty. David also was available for any phone calls when I had questions. Since I had to buy new front door hardware due to it being well used, I waited a week before we had them come out. The young man that came out was prompt and polite. The first thing he does is remove the door to strip it and sand it down. This can be done outside if it is a good day or inside your garage as he did our door due to the weather. He then checks with you to make sure this is the color stain you want on your door. This whole process takes about 4 to 5 hours depending. They next use a coating to protect the stain and wood. This is done several times. When the door has dried he will hang the door back up and put the hardware back on the door. The finished product was very nice. It was worth the investment to protect the door from the weather and made the front entrance look a lot better. Some other company's will charge more for this type of service. You have to ask questions. This is a small family owned company which works all over San Antonio. I would definitely use them again.

I am so happy with our beautiful door. They completely stripped it and the new stain matches the inside of the door. The final finish to protect the door is wonderful.. The door had very picky areas to strip. They also did some extra work to close the gap between the bottom of the door and sill. They went above and beyond what I was expecting! The door hardware was old and tricky to take off and reinstall. Dave made sure it worked perfectly before they left. We couldn't be happier!

Results were outstanding. The crew was on-site at the appointed time. They finished the job in about 4 hours or so and it looks great. Would use them again in a heartbeat.
