Description of Work: I had been doing business with these guys for almost 10 years. This last year has been the worst. They stopped delivery of bottled water due to a so called non payment issue when I have been paying the driver cash since the beginning. No warning. They put me on auto pay 4 times without my permission. When they came to get the empty bottles the guy wanted to argue with me that they needed my water cooler because it was rented. I bought my cooler from Costco yet he still did not believe me and continued to argue. Don't go with these guys if you value consistent customer service. They just do not perform.

Description of Work: I used Culligan Water Conditioning Co. about two and a half years ago to get our old water softener replaced. We are renting the new water softener from them and the rent we pay is $40 a month. They also come out every month with the salt to check the system.

Description of Work: I have had a Culligan on demand water softener since April, 2005 and have had virtually no problems. I use less than 1/2 the salt than the old other brand that I replaced. Typically use 1 to 1-1/2 bags of 40lb salt a month. The unit developed a slow trickle into the drain line (no visible leak, no damage). The service writer on the phone understood the problem, quickly located the records of installation, advised me my five year warranty had expired 6 months ago (I knew that) and scheduled a service tech for the next day. Tony arrived next day on time and handled the problem and fully checked out the operation of the softener in 1/2 hour. He cleaned up after himself and was professional and polite. I was very pleased. Since my old reverse osmosis unit was having problems I called Culligan to have a sales person come by and show me options to replace my off brand r. o. with a Culligan. I liked the details of their rental program and had that installed the next day. The installers, Jacob and Ashley were on time, very professional and very tidy. The removal of the old unit went well and the installation of the new Culligan reverse osmosis unit was neatly done and placed in a manner that took up as little space as possible under the kitchen sink. They placed a large pan in the cabinet to catch leaks and included a water leak detector as well. One very nice touch was they brought an r. o. tank that was prefilled with treated water. so I did not have to wait a few hours to begin using it. Also, Ashley was a service technician riding along. Culligan wanted them to go on calls together for cross training and that this was the first day for them. They shared best practices with each other about installations. An example was Ashley explained some of the issues he faces when servicing a unit and best tubing lengths for an installation that allow a service tech to quickly change filters or service the unit. I feel confidant that if I have a tech out to work on the r. o. that it will be a quick visit. I feel good about my choice of Culligan for the softener in 2005 and the reverse osmosis drinking water unit this week. They may cost a little more up front but I'm convinced I will save money in the long run with fewer repair issues.

Description of Work: We called for an estimate for a water softner for the home we had just purchased. The home was about 12 years old and had never had a water softener. Our first experience was with the salesperson they sent over. He was very friendy, like all salespeople, and he ended up selling us the most expensive system that they had. After the sales part, the service people came to install the system. They were not very professional. They did a very bad job of installing the system and had horrible attitudes. After they installed the system, the 2 outdoor faucets started leaking underground. We called many times, but they kept telling us that they hadn't caused the problem. After several phone calls, they grudgingly sent a service person out to look at it. The guy knocked on my door, and when I answered, he let out a big sigh and said, "So what am I here for?" like I was some crazy person making stuff up. He supposedly fixed it, but the ground under the faucets remained soggy. We called back several times again, and they sent out another guy, and he said that there was nothing wrong. We ended up having to call out some plumbers and have it fixed at our own expense. Overall, I am very unhappy with the experience. The sales guy was all about "customer service" but you never see him again after the sale. The service people were unprofessional at customer service and don't care enough to do a good job.
