We have used them for over a year. Their work is thorough and the pool always looks great. We switched to them when our previous pool service closed.

We had a billing issue and he wouldn't bill me, and then he brought me this huge bill. I think some of the things that he did, damaged my pool and he also had a bad temper.
Description of Work: I used Crystal Clear Pools. They came every month to to service the pool.

Description of Work: Douglas McDougle does not know his business. When I first hired McDougle he provided me a business card that indicated he cleaned pools and also did landscaping. He was never consistent in coming to clean my pool. More importantly, when I hired him he indicated he could along with cleaning could do basic pool equipment maintenance. He was to bill me monthly. He started out billing monthly. He was to clean my pool every Friday. I am disabled and he dealt primarily with my full-time home care person. He was unreliable as to when he came to clean my pool. He also became inconsistent in his billing. Sometimes he billed me by mail and many times he would show up at my door and want payment without submitting a bill or statement. We could never tell when he came to clean the pool. Sometimes he would not submit a bill at all. He would go six months or more without billing or even stating when he came to clean the pool. He would them come to my door and request payment for three months or more. We told him we needed a bill which requested payment indicating when he had come to clean. He never complied with our requests. We had not seen him for more than a month. He said he had come and knocked on the door and no one responded. We again told him we needed that he submit a written bill by mail. I told him we paid a lawn maintenance service, a pest control company and maid service in this manner. Again, he agreed to comply but never did. After not seeing Mr. Mcdougle for a protracted period he came to clean the pool and demanded payment. I said I required a written bill. About a half hour later he came to my door and handed me a note size bill. I examined the bill and he indicated I owned him $4,000 dollars! I was stunned. He could not verify the times he came. When I questioned the bill he became very angry and began yelling and using profanity. When I began to ask him about his statement he interrupted me yelling profanities and then said he would accept $3,000. I indicated we would have to finish our discussion. Again he yelled and interrupted me went to the door toward the backyard. He yelled some more profanities opened the door and slammed it almost breaking it off the frame as he left. My home care person followed him out the door. Ten minutes later my home care returned. He told me that Mr. McDougle continued his tirade indicating he was not cleaning the pool. He then proceeded over to the pool equipment and removed something and then left cursing. I had to hire another company and has gone well. One thing I discovered was because of McDougle's negligence I was required to spend thousands of dollars. One example: I have a negative edge pool. On one occasion McDougle left the pump for the negative edge pump running. Three days later we noticed the negative edge running. I called McDougle to ask him why he had left the pump on without warning me. He said it was good to let the pump run. We turned the pump off. As it turned out, the pump had burned out. It cost me $1,500 to replace and have the new pump installed.

He didn't know how to do his job. He didn't know anything about pool maintenance or pools or the equipment. He destroyed some of my equipment because he didn't know how to use it. I had to get a new filter and get new pumps. He didn't keep any records, he wouldn't bill me for years.
Description of Work: He did pool maintenance for me.
