I paid for a variable speed split system. They installed a single speed system. My energy bill was still sky high with the new system. I had to spend an how researching they installed system to find out they cheated me. Also when the installed the previous system the didn't not put in a UV light that I paid for. Do not trust them, spend the extra money and go somewhere

Called Cowboys Air, and they sent a Tech that hooked his AC charging device. He noticed the AC unit had NO Freon. He then started pumping freon worth $1,050,without even checking for LEAKS ,the freon lasted 1 week. I called another company and they found the Evaporator Coil had a BIG LEAK.I called Cowboys to Refund my money and they REFUSED. This Company is scamming Seniors .

On Nov 17, 2022 I had Cowboys Air Conditioning & Heating scheduled to come out and do regular maintenance of my mother’s HVAC which is less than 5 years old. Adrian the technician was sent out and he did his maintenance. He then recommended my mom spend another $3k on insulation and such. I politely declined. Then one week later the system stopped cooling. So we called them back out and Cowboys sent the same tech Adrian out on Nov 29th. This time Adrian said that he was almost shocked when the system blew both inside and outside. He then proceeded to tell me that the HVAC blew its motherboard, a capacitor and the thermostat. He then tried to sell my mom a new system for $12K. He said it was better to just buy a new system. I informed him that the HVAC is only 5 years old and how could everything just blow up? Plus wouldn’t it all be under warranty? He then stated because of COVID that it would possibly take 11 months to get warrantied parts in for it because of the backlog in the HVAC industry and it would just be faster to buy my mother a new system. Obviously he NEVER shut the power off to begin with. And now my mother couldn’t even use her stove because the power to the HVAC was also connected to the stove. Once we took his input we decided to hire another HVAC technician to get a second opinion. He came out on Dec 5th, 2022. After running a completed diagnostic check he immediately called me to tell me it looks like whoever touched this unit sabotaged it. He ran me through the capacitor which worked fine, he showed me the thermostat, it worked fine and then showed me the motherboard which worked just fine. All off these things Cowboys tech said were blown. He then proceeded to show me an intentionally cut wire for the cooling fan and a removed prong that went to the cool unit. He stated this was not broken by mistake; this was “intentionally” cut. I took pictures and his report and scheduled an appointment to meet with a Cowboys representative on Dec 7, 2022. Upon arrival I was greeted by Ariel Martienz. I came to him to explain what had transpired and showed him picture evidence that their technician had intentionally sabotaged my mothers HVAC. Mr Martinez thanked me for bringing this to his attention and he stated he would make this right. He also stated that if this employee had done this to my mother he probably had done it to others. He assured me this employee would be fired. Because of all the picture evidence that we had which showed what my mothers mother board looked like when Cowboys started the maintenance and the post picture which showed it with cooling lines cut, it was pretty evident that Cowboys Tech had sabotaged my mother’s unit. Mr Martinez apologies and on the same day refunded my mother the service fee of $39.95. He also stated to me that they would do all needed to make sure my mom's unit got fixed. I explained to him that I had already hired someone else to fix it, He stated that was fine and to just send him the bill for the repairs. Once the new technician fixed everything the bill was for $850. And now as of today January 12, 2023 Cowboys Heating and Air Conditioning is refusing to pay my mother a dime. They also have never sent any of the pictures that I request that their technician took of my mothers unit but they did have it because Mr Martienez showed them to me and we compared them to the pictures I provide to him, basically the before and after and you can clear see the intentional cut of the line.

Do Not do business with this company. No matter what your problem is they want to sell you a new air and heat unit. The service manager came in the evening when I wanted to wait until the next day. The part was broken and would cost about 1,200. He kept telling me my heater could go out and would need a replacement and the prices were going up 20 % next year. He would not give up. He kept giving different prices for a new heat unit. The last price was about 4500 and that was the price I would pay. He was offering 0% financing. Then he told me there would be over 200 tax. He said he would take that off if I did the deal. Against my better (?) judgement I said ok. After they installed it the next day I saw that they had not connected the condescension pump to my air unit. I called and he came out that night and said the air and new heat unit were not compatible. I have Reem (air)and they put in Rudd heat. I had asked him the night before if that was going to work and he yes. So, he said I would need a new air unit and started quoting prices. I was so mad I told him to leave and I wanted nothing more to do with his company. I was exhausted by the time he left. I think his name is Miguel or Manuel. He never gave me a business card. I have seen so many other complaints about him I just wanted to warn others. I am sorry I didn't read them before I called.

Dishonest company. Do not hire or even call lest you want to be repeatedly spammed by them. They came out to perform an “inspection” of my AC/Furnace system and surreptitiously disconnected components so that I would think they were broken and needed replacement. They then quoted me over $13k for a new system. I had a friend of a friend who is a retired commercial AC technician come out and reconnect the disabled components and assure me everything else looked fine. That was three years ago. And the same system Cowboys AC insisted needed “dire repairs” continues to operate just fine today. But that hasn’t stopped those crooks at Cowboys AC from spamming my phone with solicitation call after solicitation call. Even after I have asked them repeatedly to stop.

In January 2019, I hired Cowboy Heating and Air to install a new furnace and repair a water heater vent that was detached from the roof outlet. I confirmed by text message with Miguel, the estimator, that the vent was included in the quote. Nonetheless, the vent was not repaired, and Ariel, the owner, has refused to acknowledge the vent repair was included in the price because according to him it was not written in the quote. The text messages from Miguel means nothing, and it is apparent it was used simply a ploy to get my business. On top of everything, Ariel is arrogant and rude. His temperament creates a hostile environment, and he instills fear. Avoid dealing with Cowboy Heating and Air.

Miguel of Cowboys A/C and Heating came and inspected my heater and told me there was a gas leak and he was informed by his management to turn off my unit as it was dangerous. He said it was leaking water and that the unit needed to be replaced. I told him I had American Home Shield warranty service and I would have to call them. This was yesterday at approximately 5:00 pm and I was on hold with American Home Shield for a very long time so I took the time to read my contract and told him that American Home Shield would have to check and see if they were on the vendor list for AHS. I finally got through to AHS and they told me that since he was not a vendor, I could not allow them to do the work. He had already given me a price for a new unit and said they could do last night. I told him I could not afford to pay myself and he said they would finance. I told him I had to do what AHS told me to do. He gave me his cell number and told me if I changed my mind to call him and he would come back last night and install a new unit. He left me scared to death as I am 76 years old and I would not have heat last night with 38 degree temperature. I made it through the night with blankets galore and AUS Heating and A/C came this morning on an emergency (AHS vendor). They told me there was not a leak of gas and no water leaking. The unit was in good working condition, even though it is old. Also, that Cowboys A/C and heating did not service the unit. They should have! He believed that they were only try to sell me a new unit for a small service fee of $29.95. I am so angry that I suffered through the night and also had to pay AHS $75.00 for a service call. I will never use Cowboys again for any kind of work on my unit! I also feel they should reimburse me for the $29.95 i paid them and for the $75.00 I had to pay American Home Shield for AUS Heating and A/C for a second opinion.

They convinced me to purchase an AC system. It has been a lemon, nothing but problems dating back years. It breaks routinely and they never answer why it always fails. Their service is horrible. I cant count the number of times they didn't show up to a scheduled appointment with no calls. Always an excuse after we have to call them. I would certainly go elsewhere or you will regret it.

The time they initially did the inspection sometime ago they were the ones we called and they replaced the whole inside air handler and outside heat pump and it has been good. It seems to me that they wanted the sale they sent a salesman instead of sending a technician. I told the guy who came last time who happened to be the one I said you guys never offered me to repair the fan just told me I needed a whole new heat pump replaced and that was not right and all that so we are probably not gonna do business with them anymore.

Basically evaluated my A/C Furnace found trouble with capacitor replaced yet left wiring in disarray loose wires etc. Also entire conversation was pushing a sale of a new furnace and would not let it go did not want to create a solution for existing unit. Charged me $150 for a $30 part pretty much expressed that upon knocking on my door I was going to pay $59 . I was completely upset by service or lack there of called the main office Melissa was nice yet any attempt resolve or at least give some of my money back for a bad service by the manager or owner was never attempted or made in fact Melissa was to inform owner manager to call me back yet they never did. Do not ever call upon these guys all they want is to sell you products imagine elderly running into these guys the advantage they will take they are a sad and predator company of an already suspect industry. Had the owner manager at least attempted to contact me tried to make good even by an apology I would not have posted this my concern would be if they do it to me who else would they take advantage of!

The gents from Cowboys AC did a wonderful job replacing my whole AC system following a compressor failure. Their techs were very professional and worked diligently to both install the new compressor and it's furnace. The furnace install itself is a work of art. The interior spaces were vacuumed and a new platform was built to seat the new furnace. Martin put in a lot of work making sure all the components fit perfectly and neatly. Noel was great explaining all the features of the new unit and did an awesome job installing the new compressor. I also appreciated their efforts at keeping the mess to a minimum and taking all bits and junk with them. Noel even took the time to pick up bits of debris from the outdoor walkway they used. He even swept the walkway! Those two went well out of their way in establishing my confidence in Cowboys AC

I am seeking reimbursement from Al Martinez, owner, and COWBOYS A/C and HEATING, for damages done to my house because of damaged A/C system. On Dec. 19, 2014, we discovered water running down walls, soaking carpet, loosening wallpaper, and soaking furniture legs. I immediately called my contractor that does work for me, Radiance Homes, to get help on what to do. She called her A/C sub-contractor, Climate Magic, who immediately came out and assessed and repaired the problem. His description of the problem is as follows: ?Checked upstairs right side system for water dripping from secondary pan out-of- level due to 2X4 which supported kendorf with all thread had split and allowed unit to drop several inches. This in-turn did not allow coil to drain out primary and lead to existing problem. Supported rack for furnace coil with plumbers strap.? Model: FS4BE-036K / Serial: FSD100702416 CLIMATE MAGIC immediately fixed and re-leveled unit system. Much damage was done, as the units are located in my 3rd story attic with the water penetrating down through second story to the first level kitchen. Most of the damage was done in my second story living area. Damages required services of CLEANING AND RESTORATION SPECIALISTS, who removed damaged carpet and pad, disposal of same, moved furniture, used dehumidifiers and drying equipment for a couple of weeks, removed sheetrock and insulation and treated for mold, and then replaced carpet and furniture. BURGESSES PAINTING, INC.?s services included new wall and ceiling insulation, drywall, damaged door frame and baseboards, wallpaper removal, walls textured and primed and painted, and kitchen ceiling?s stains treated and painted. CHARLEY HUNDLEY (maintance sub) replaced the wet and damaged ceiling insulation in attic. I was on a maintance program with this company, COWBOYS AIR CONDITIONING AND HEATING, and this problem should have been discovered had they properly maintained the equipment. Had they blown out the drains, they would have seen the un-level system and secondary pan. It was very noticeable. I believe the supports were broken when they installed a new A/C unit. Since we do not use the unit constantly, I believe the damage of overflow was done when we turned the unit on for the warm season. I am seeking total damages and repairs of $ 11,945.17 from Al Martinez and COWBOYS A/C AND HEATING of San Antonio, Texas. Mr. Al Martinez responded to my initial complaint and came to my home. He assured me he would take care of the matter. However, he declined to view the damages and said he would consult his insurance agent and get back to me. After approx. two weeks, I had not heard from Mr. Martinez so I called. He responded that he had not heard back from the insurance agent and that he would call him and get back to me in 30 minutes. I never heard from him. I continued to make calls and leave messages for Mr. Martinez, but he never returned my calls.

We wanted a unit that would last a long time and be efficient, they installed it for about $13000.00. Another company inspected our systems and stated they would charge between $7000 and $8000 for the unit to be installed. I feel I was ripped off. They also recently told me I needed to have my ducts repaired for $4200 but I declined this work and decided to use the other company for future services. They also offered a maintenance contract that would be for 5 years and cost $1800.00.

Good morning [member name removed] my name is Ariel Martinez with Cowboys air-conditioning and heating and I am very sorry to hear that you you are dissatisfied with the service that we provided for you however we install this unit back in 12/08/11 and from that point till now all we have ever done is service your unit there is no record of us having any issues with your unit The last time we were out was for 5/15/14 and all we did was service your unit and you purchase a one year service agreement . If there's any problem with your machine it does have a warrantee and I will be more than happy to take care of that at no charge if you feel that there is a problem with your unit thank you

Rep that came to the house to do the unit cleaning was very nice, answered all questions. He showed me an itemized work order, and explained another guy would follow to install the light, clean & sterilize the blower interior, and install the return air cover. A guy showed up awhile later, performed work, had me sign and left. I realized I never saw the guy go outside to the compressor unit at all - that's where the high voltage controller was. I called in and spoke to the receptionist and asked for a copy of the itemized bill. She said she would get it on the following Monday and let me know. Never got the call. I called back about the bill and told her I wanted the HVC taken off my bill - it was a little expensive and with the whole thing running so much, I said I didnt want that right now. The first tech had mentioned it was still working - he just recommended replacing. The girl said she would have the initial guy call me. He did - I explained about the HVC and said to takeit off the bill and I wanted a copy of the itemized statement. He said he would send it. Never got it. So now its several weeks later and I am going to change the filter. The vent cover - which should have little clips that allow opening it up to replace the filter - had screws - no clips. I got a screw driver and removed the screws. When the vent cover came off, I realized it was the original vent cover - just a plain cover, not one with a door that opens so you can replace the filter. I opened the blower unit door to take the filter out of the unit - it slides in with great difficulty at the base of the blower housing - thats why I wanted a new vent cover - anyway I opened the filter slot and - no filter. Not only had the seconf guy NOT replaced the vent cover, he didnt even put the filter back and left my house with the unit running and no filter. I called again - this is getting a little rediculous. She said they would take care of it today - would be at the house between 12 and 2pm. I said I also wanted them to check the blower unit as it probably needs cleaning after running for a month with NO FILTER. She said absolutely - they would take care of it. Waited 12-2pm - waited til 215 pm - called the office - guys are no show, take the vent cover off my bill - Im going to home depot to get one. She said wait - let me find out whats going on. Guy comes back on the phone says "the guys are just finishing up another job and will be on their way". I said you havent told me when they will be here - they were supposed to be here between 12 and 2 - I have things to do - take the vent cover off my bill and Ill take care of it. Guys tells me "We can't take it off your bill. I said you can - you charged me for something I didnt get, now I want a refund. I am being told you are giving me credit for the HVC, so just add this to the refund. I am not waiting another minute on you guys to show up when you feel like it to repair work that wasnt done correctly the first time. He said very well and hung up. So bottom line - these guys do not pay attention to detail, nobody follows up on whether the work was completed, they dont return phone calls, and for what they charge, kt just is not worth it.
Description of Work: Came out on a special unit checkup - found issues, recommended replacement of High Voltage Control unit, installing a special biologic-killing lamp inside the blower, plus I wanted a return air vent cover as unit did not have one. Total price 3400 approx.
