If you are in search for the builder of your dream home, look past McGuyer Homebuilders, Inc. (MHI) – Coventry Homes, Plantation Homes and Wilshire Homes. If working with a company that will go out of their way to do the right thing is important to you, MHI is not your builder. If they don’t have to do it, MHI won’t. Faced with doing what’s right or closely scrutinizing what and where you initialed in a contract, MHI has demonstrated an unwillingness to bend, care, nor go out of their way to preserve customer satisfaction. Your initials by a paragraph in a contract will supersede any verbal agreement made by MHI sales staff. For one year, I been worked with a sales representative to get screen doors for an 8x12’ sliding glass door in my new home. This was an item noted on the inspection report and promised would be addressed. A year later, the sales representative was no longer employed by MHI and corporate denies all knowledge of the arrangement, suggesting the MHI employee wasn’t representing MHI at the time he agreed to provide screens. So, a year later I was left with a bill for a $980 screen install I had to arrange on a nearly $400,000 home. In a time when beautiful customer experiences, brand reputation, doing the right thing and going above and beyond to understand what customers want, need and care about, MHI is more focused on what they’re obligated to do. Customer loyalty and satisfaction after the sale are best left to homebuilders who care about someone greater than themselves and who firmly believe the customer is always right.

MHI Partnership, Ltd d/b/a Coventry Homes DAM225 – Coventry Homes were contracted to build a home on 1/15/2019, They advised house was ready on 11/29/2019 at Thanksgiving Holidays when no Title Company was open to close, we showed up for closing but they could not accommodate our correct names on the contract and did not show up for closing; They stole our $18,290.00 Earnest money. They failed to close purchase of the property as required by Contract Original Contract). This was our FINAL HOME what turned out be sheer **** to deal with them , they hide behind low paid and overworked Sales Person so that they can steal your hard earned money as they do not know how to build home after they claim they have built 55,000.00 homes. This is the only way they can make money by stealing and ripping p n They are liars and thieves to rip people off. One would thinks they can read blue print. Our FINAL HOME has so many flows. I would not trust Mr. Pospisil, Mr. Chas Geise, Ms. Freddi Lovin/ emotional person, cried at a drop of hat and runs to superior, who now works selling insurance. They could not even follow a simple Construction Design Diagram which they charged us for, they did not build house as per diagram yet wanted full money. They changed and added verbiage to Para 30 page 8 which would take away Buyers Rights without Buyers knowledge, it is Concealment of information which can destroy buyers enforceability of specific condition and apply “AS IS” Clause. We were forced to sign the Contract #22 misrepresenting facts. Construction Diagram dated 1/15/2019 by Joe Pritchard was sent to Architect on same date but was not incorporated nor was the house built in accordance. Mr. Rudy Pospisil is not a trustworthy man nor does he keep his word and he hides behind low paid staff to protect himself. This Company is unscrupulous, do not do business with them or build with them even if they are the last company on earth. It is a sheer nightmare to deal with them

MHI (aka Coventry Homes, Wilshire Homes, and Plantation Homes) is the worst when it comes to keeping promises. In July, I signed a contract with Wilshire Homes with Steve Ryherd, who said that in case my lender would not approve the loan, the EMD would be refunded under any circumstances. Then Mr. Ryherd unfortunately got sick and my case was transferred to Steve Coppage, who was pretty indifferent, unresponsive, and uncooperative during the house purchase process. In September, my loan application didn't go through. I signed the release paper. Mr. Coppage said my EMD would be under review and I should get it a week later. A week passed by. I called Mr. Coppage, who told me my EMD would not be returned because the contract says my loan application has exceeded 30 days since the effective date. When I double check the contract, there was clearly NO SUCH TERMS DISCUSSING WHAT HAPPENS IN CASE THE APPLICATION TAKES MORE THAN 30 DAYS. This does against what Mr. Ryherd promised me earlier. (I still have his text message). What kind of builder is this company who would go to any lengths to keep hold of customers' EMD? I wonder.

Description of Work: Builders for our home. We have a beautiful home in spite of errors that extended the length of time to build I.e., installed wrong water faucets, set up walkway in the wrong direction so it had to be redone. Some items were changed on the plan without telling us. We found out when the house was framed. The salesman and superintendent were responsive when pushed, but in my opinion, one superintendent had too many projects at once and had to travel between San Antonio and New Braunfels. I did get a call from their home office in response to my concerns, but didn't get the imoression he was really concerned, just going through the motions.
