Cloud Roofing

The company was courteous and prompt when they evaluated a leak as being between my composition shingle roof and the gravel roof right next to our chimney. They said I needed an new gravel roof, though it had just been re-topped before we bought the house, and after the new roof was done I was skeptical but hopeful the leak was stopped. The next rain the leak returned no better than before. I called them back and they checked the transition between the roofs and could not find anything. After a while poking around they gave up, but didn't offer any rebate or apology. I hated the idea I'd paid for a new roof I didn't need. I called another roofer (I think it was A-1) and he couldn't find the leak, but was sure I needed a new chimney cricket (metal form that channels rain away from the chimney) and all the roofing around it. The cricket did not look leaky or rusted or anything, and I was afraid of paying again without results, so I did not have that work done. Finally, this year (2011), when I was on the roof I noticed that the top of the chimney was broken and missing mortar, obviously no longer waterproof. I called an Angie's List mason and paid $350 to have the mortar cap replaced. Presto! The leak that had been driving us crazy since we bought the house in 2000 was gone (Thank you, too, mister home inspector). I would not recommend Cloud Roofing to anyone unless they obviously need of a new roof. It seemed incredible to me that 2 "professionals" could have missed the broken chimney cap. Sigh...

We received a prompt quote and salesman called a couple of times to see if we had made a decision yet but when we called him back to give the go-ahead, he said the girls in the office would call to schedule. A week later, we called to check on service date and they did not have the information. Once they had the information, they were here in 2 days. The only complaint was the guys were sawing the plywood over the hole the skylight was in causing sawdust to come raining into the house. They immediately stopped when they heard me gasp!

My roof shingles were heavily damaged during a storm and my insurance company recommended full replacement. My neighbors, who have a similar house, had recently replaced theirs and indicated they were satisfied with the roofer they used (Cloud Roofing). I couldn't find any negative info on this particular company and their proposal for the work was appropriate and cost was within my insurance company's (USAA) estimate. The job didn't start out so great because their subcontractor busted my large skylight while stacking shingles on the roof the day before the work started. Why they chose to stack all the shingles directly around my only skylight I don't know. Cloud stated that they would repair it and bill the subcontractor, which they did. A large crew started very early in the morning and they finished the entire roofing job in about 10 hours. The crew was friendly and professional enough, and they kept my walkway relatively clear of debris and did a good job of cleaning up afterward. They replaced a couple of OSB roofing panels due to their bad condition, which cost extra, but at a reasonable price. USAA periodically checks on their subcontractors who perform the estimates to see if their estimates were appropriate, and they happened to pick my home. This was a benefit because while they were on the roof they also checked on the quality of the work performed by Cloud a few days earlier. USAA stated the roofing replacement was done well and could not find any problems other than a single shingle with a small tear. Cloud later replaced this shingle when they replaced my skylight a few days later. I would have given the company an A except for the skylight damage and because of a small water leak coming from around the skylight since it was replaced that I still need to address.

We will use this service when the time comes...there are a couple of other home improvement issues to address first, then the roof!

The roof had some wind damage during the summer. We had to take off some of the shingles right in front of the house. We knew that the shingles were older when we bought the house. Cloud Roofing was the most economical of the ones that we had called. They were very responsive too. They gave me all the information that I wanted, and we were able to replace all the shingles. It wasn't a cheap job by any means. The crew told us that they would show up on Friday morning, but did not show up till afternoon, the reason being that they hadn?t finished their previous day?s job. The crew was very hard-working and did not waste any time. It was essentially a three-day job. They scraped off some of the old shingles and it dropped to the ground. They got it done very smartly. They were pretty good with the cleanup as well. I am happy with them. I would certainly recommend them.

They were very nice and got the work done quickly. They cleaned everything up after themselves. They did a great job and my friend also used them.

Ken called and told me he would be over today and showed up as promised. He walked the roof and repaired some shingles that had come loose. In addition, he repaired the shingle that had come off. He did not charge me anything for this service. I will definately use this company for all my roofing needs as I believe they are honest and trustworthy.

This company was very easy to work with and they came when they were supposed to and did a very nice job. We appreciate how they worked with us on a date. They cleaned up the yard and were very careful to not damage the shrubs. They also provided a carpenter to repair some rotted face boards. We were pleased with the repairs.

Work performed in timely fashion, cleanup was good. Noticed some sloppiness where roofing nails broke through on underside of eaves. Competitive bid (vs Yuras bros, and Lone Star)

I didn't use their services to get the work done. They were very prompt when I called them. I got quotes for metal roof, but we decided to go with the composition. The estimate that they gave was twice as much as the composition. It was the product that was pricey and not the company and it was much more labor intensive.

I chose them because they have been doing roofing in the San Antonio area since the mid 1970s. I thought the man who did the estimate of what was needed was thorough. I had 9 companies come in, and I thought I only liked 3 of them. I have a flat roof and most of them wanted to put a shingle on my roof, but one does not put a shingle on a relatively flat roof. Cloud Roofing got it right the first time. They were a little more thorough with the assessment. Their team of 8-10 people finished the work on my roof in 3-4 days. It seemed to go well. They knew that I needed the modified bitumen product because I have a slightly inclined flat roof. They came in at the highest price, and I wound up taking them. They gave me a 10-year warranty on the roof and a 20-year warranty on the materials. When they were finished, they left a sign saying about the job done by them. I felt uncomfortable about that, and that was the only part that left a bad taste in my mouth.

A friend of mine had hired them to do the roofing for her house. They did not do anything with the sub roofing, as it was good. I had seen them advertising and someone came to give me an estimate, which was good. Moreover, it was covered by the insurance company. I was very impressed, as they informed me that I didn?t had to be at home when they did the job. When I woke up one morning, they were already there with a dumpster. They took all the shingles off, of the roof and put it in the dumpster. It probably took them about half a day or less to clear it off. Later on, they also cleaned up the place. I never knew they were up there until I saw them. They were really fast, as they had people up there to get the work done. I didn?t hear them when they were up there while fixing the roof. They were very efficient. They had the roof done in one day and I didn?t know how they could do that, but they had enough people working. They came on the date they said they were going to be there. They didn?t waste much time and completed the job. They also cleaned up and got the roof on. I haven?t had any problems with the roof that they had fixed. It was good and they were very punctual. I couldn?t talk to them, as they did the job and didn?t socialize at all. I will definitely hire them back and I would recommend them to others too.

I didn't go well and serious faults were found later.

My roof is three years old but the original roofers were fly-by-night and could not be found. Other roofing companies either do not do repair work or are so busy that an inspector would not be available for at least three months. Cloud Roofing sent a representative to inspect and offer a proposal within a week of my phone call. I was very pleased with Cloud s representative, Joseph. He was thorough in his inspection, actually taking time to go on the roof and to crawl in the attic for evidence of location of the leak. He was able to convince me that a more simple repair approach would work and that replacement of the flashing was not necessary. I was pleased with the knowledge demonstrated by Joseph and take him as representative of the caliber of person hired by Cloud Roofing. I will absolutely call Cloud Roofing for any other roof work I need done.

They worked well with our insurance agency. They helped find some subcontractors to do some material repair. They are very responsive and aim to make their customer's happy. They did what they said they would do, their owner is available to help and they follow up on their work.

Very professional, personable and courteous. They did good work. Exactly what they said they would do at the estimated price.

Due to extensive hail damage in area, it took awhile for work to begin after initial contract was signed.

Work completed in one day. The crew cleaned up the area thoroghly. No problems whatsoever.

Received estimate and contracted to have work done the following week while the house was vacant. Company did not go to the house to do the work for 3 weeks and there was a tenant in the house that sent them away because I had not told him about the work. I called the next day and canceled the work request. They went back the next day and did the work without any notification. The company never called me to say the work would be delayed. Did not contact me when the tenant sent them away. Even though I talked with 2 people at the company when I called to cancel the work, the President said that no one acknowledged that I had called. Not a professional, customer oriented company.

The work crew appeared one day eating lunch on our front lawn without advising us of the day on which we were scheduled. Soon after the roof and ridge vent were in place, it rained. The roof leaked into a smoke alarm and set it off at 5 a.m. A repair was quickly made. However, the ridge vent was inserted so poorly that the roof line was no longer straight but undulating. After our repeated complaints, Mr. Cloud appeared one day, surveyed the roof and stated that the problem was the construction of our house. It took 9 months before the problem was corrected. We found the business card of a roof repairman at our front door one day and called him. He used the proper length nails on the ridge vent and made a few minor repairs. The reason that we finally succeeded in having the work done properly is because we didn't pay for the job until it was finally completed and we communicated with the company through The Better Business Bureau. Don't believe his many public signs.

Head of crew was easy to work with and large crew working 3 days. Cleaned up area. Appraiser was excellent and always answered my questions, as did the Company owner.

The company is very reputable. They are courteous, prompt, and professional. Very nice and they did a wonderful job.

Cloud Roofing was great. Our new roof works just fine for us and we are completely satisfied. They used a high grade of shingle and we figure we won't have to re-roof our home for a very long time. The crew was polite and answered all of our questions. They did a fast, efficient job. The debris was removed and cleaned up very nicely, too.

Cloud Roofing did a perfect job repairing damage to our roof done by hail and wind damage. They had the work done fast and cleaned up with a magnet on a broomstick to ensure all the nails were gone. They also had all the right tools to finish the job quickly.
