Foundation work
Description of Work: Chris came by our home to give us an estimate on foundation work. He was quick, informative, courteous and wore a face mask throughout out entire interaction. What I loved the most about Chris’s work is that well, he actually didn’t do any! Instead of doing unnecessary or potentially harmful work on our home, he let us know that our work was in good enough shape to not need a complete foundation overhaul. He let us know that there were some minor repairs that would eventually be needed, but that wasn’t priority. What he DID tell us, was that we had a water leak under our home that needed more attention as that could be what is causing our minor foundation issues. I am very happy with Christopher Contracting and hope to be able to utilize their services in the future.

I received quotes from 5 different company's (Stable Lift, Baird, Advance Foundation, Centex and last was Christopher Contracting) and Christopher contracting was my choice. This process was very stressful for me but I am 100% completely satisfied and recommend this company to anyone needing foundation repair.
Description of Work: Concrete foundation repair. 25 hydraulically driven steel pilings were installed under the entire perimeter of my home. 25 holes were dug around my home.

Showed up on time, friendly, extremely knowledgeable and thorough. We ended up not needing work because the foundation was not impacted and he remained professional and even seemed happy for us to be off the hook for a potentially costly repair. I can't say enough nice things. I HIGHLY recommend and have been telling family & friends to go to Christopher.

Mr. Walker was very professional and detailed in walking us through all the processes being performed on our property. I was amazed on how fast all the jobs were completed. The roof was completely redone in one day. The privacy fence was completed in one and a half days. And our walkway was completed in under a day (minus the dry time). His workers were here on time or early everyday and very thorough in cleaning after the work was completed. All the work was completed on time as promised. We are very pleased with the look of our new roof. Our new fence and walkway look amazing. Not to mention, everyone was very friendly and professional. Needless to say, I would recommend Christopher Contracting to anyone and everyone.

+ -1 moreChristopher showed up on time. He took measurements throughout the house, then spent half an hour explaining what he found and answering my questions. He was straight forward with his information - didn't try to sell me on anything, but did tell me what was going on with my foundation. There was never any pressure to use his service, and his (free) estimate is good for a year (barring any changes in the cost of materials). I don't know if I'll get foundation work done, but if I do, I'll be using this company.

+ -1 moreEverything went very well. Christopher came out one week, explained what repairs were needed and the process to get the job completed. The job took about one week, no mess was left behind. Although the workers did fill up my one trash can with the trash from the job on the last day. The price was very reasonable. The only thing left undone was the repeat plumbing test. Christopher was going to call me to set up a date but I guess it slipped his mind. Christopher was very polite, professional, and very easy to work with, I would recommend him to anyone needing foundation repair.

Description of Work: Christopher Contracting came in and did a foundation assessment at no cost. It was quite a detailed process which entailed measurement, diagrams, level measurement, and visual inspection of the interior and exterior of the home. Once this process was completed, Chris sat down and explained everything to us, noting there was nothing to be concerned about at this point in time....especially for a home 40+ years old. He didn't attempt to sell us on anything, so... if in the future we do have foundation issues, we'll be sure to contact Christopher Contracting.

Description of Work: The contractor came out and looked at an area I was concerned about, and he assured me that it was good for now, and told me some things to look for that would indicate if the the foundation in that area was going bad. I appreciated his professionalism and helpfulness.

+ -1 moreChris met me promptly for the estimate, explained the scope of the work required and the cost. I was in a hurry to get the job done so he was able to begin 2 days earlier than scheduled and they got right to work. The crew was hard working and trustworthy. I got 3 bids and although this was not the cheapest bid overall it was the least expensive per pier. With the amount of movement in the foundation we did not want to risk skimping on the number of piers. We highly recommend this contractor, they did an excellent job on this house.

+ 1 moreWorkers were professional and courteous. They were prompt and cleaned up after themselves. A couple of sprinkler heads and plumbing were accidently damaged and promptly repaired. Lawn was repaired adjacent to where concrete was poured. Overall, great experience with Christopher Contracting and his staff of pro's.

+ -1 moreChris arrived and first looked under the house to examine the concrete support posts. He said they were in very good shape. He then went into the house itself and, using his instrument for determining the level of the house, said that the house was pretty much on level and that no action was necessary. He knew I was fixing up the house and offered some suggestions. There was no charge for his time. I was really quite impressed: he was professional, punctual, courteous and helpful. He was also very honest. I am sure he could have sold me a job under some pretext, but he didn't. Based on my interaction yesterday I would certainly use his company if I needed their services and would recommend him without reservation. Definitely deserves an AAA rating.

+ 1 moreI recommend Christopher Contracting. Chris Walker comes to the work site each day; most days several times. Chris has great customer service skills. His employees are very polite and clean up at the end of each day.
Description of Work: Clean expansion joint between sidewalk and structure (39 linear ft) Install back-a-rod and fill joint with urethane expansion filler. Excavate 3ft x 4ft x 34ft trench against long wall for steel beam and support posts installation. Install support beams and structural steel posts under rear and side beam sections. Clean and treat exposed beam rebar underneath structure with ospho rust treatment. Apply polymer bonding agent to the exposed concrete beam. Repair beam using 3000psi polymer added concrete. (45 linear ft.) Engineer Inspection Included.

+ 0 moreThe workers came about 8 a.m. and were finished by 5 p.m. They leveled the house and explained fully all that they did. They cleaned up the work area thoroughly. They removed paper tubing from the piers (which were about 10 years old). This action meant that termites could not eat their way through the paper to our wooden floors in future years. We were very pleased with the quality and cost of the work.

+ -1 moreThey were outstanding to work with. They worked very hard to be as non-invasive with us as possible. They also cleaned up after themselves. The workers were incredibly diligent and business like, they worked very hard all day. It was amazing.
Description of Work: They lifted the foundation. It had to be done in two projects because we have a large home (~8,000 square feet, 2 stories on one half and 3 stories on the other half of the house).

Called Chris he is very professional explained to me in detail how they tunnel, pier and jack the front of the house up. He had the best estimate and was also recommended by a friend, who had some foundation repair completed by Chris. Work began in Sept and his crew were very punctual,courteous and very hard workers. Going through this experience as recently divorced I must admit pretty scary! when the house was being moved. Chris reassured me and kept me calm. I would highly recommend his services. Also had new driveway replaced. Thanks Chris for all your work and support.

+ -1 moreMr. Christopher and his workmen came punctually at the appointed time and started the work. Breaking the concrete for the narrow channel, covering it with a grid and installing the pipe through the lawn and curb, took about two days, The work is of high quality and does not mar the driveway. The grid can be removed when needed to clean debris accumulated in the channel. I am very happy with the work and like to thank Mr. Christopher on the professionalism he and his work group displayed. They left the work site spotless.
Description of Work: I had a drainage problem mostly on the right side of my newly repaired driveway. To solve this problem, Christopher Contracting created a drainage channel at the right edge of the driveway, installed a cover and connected it with a pipe at the utility section of the driveway. The pipe is laid at a long angle to the right through the existing lawn to the curb where the water drains into the street.

+ -1 moreI had a very professional and cordial relationship with the contractor during the project and would highly recommend this company to anyone needing a foundation contractor.
Description of Work: The foundation on my house was defective from the beginning but the problem did not become evident until about 3 years after moving in. Because of the soil condition and no soil preparation prior to constructing the foundation, the foundation was moving causing cracks in the sheetrock and under the slab plumbing breaks. I contacted a professional engineer and had a foundation survey done and a repair plan prepared. The engineer worked independently and was not affiliated with any foundation repair company. Because this engineer had been in the foundation engineering business for years, I asked him to provide me with the names of 3 foundation companies that he would hire to do foundation on his house if needed. I contacted all 3 companies and got estimates from all. Christopher Contracting was the highest bid initially. Prior to selecting a contractor, Christopher Contracting prepared a revised estimate that was more in line with the others but still not the lowest. After carefully reviewing the contracts from each company, I liked C.C.'s contract the best. I specified that all piers to support the foundation would be installed by tunneling under the slab and that no cuts would be made through the slab. This required 150 feet of tunnels to be dug under the foundation. A total 51 segmented steel piers were placed under the foundation in accordance with the engineer's repair plan. The piers were driven in to the ground to bedrock. The depth that the piers went was from 20 to 40 feet. There was over 1,300 linear feet of segmented steel pipe used. Due to some parts of the foundation being raised 5" several plumbing breaks occurred which was expected. The contractor saved me a lot of money by digging the tunnels to the area where the plumbing breaks occurred and they had a plumber repair the break. The cleanup of all the dirt that was excavated from under the slab was cleaned up completely.

+ -1 moreThey are foundation repair specialist and they actually repaired the foundation at my mother’s house in 2007 and we had them come out in 2012 to take a look at the foundation to make sure that it is performing adequately. They did not charge us since it was just fulfilling the warranty requirement for the work they did before. In 2007 we spend $4700. We will use them in the future. Basically coming out in April 2012 was a five year review of the work that he did in May 2007 to level the foundation. He observed the conditions in the field; he looked at the brick work of the foundation, he took measurement inside the house and verified that basically that all of the foundation work that he did in 2007 was performing adequately. So we were pleased that he came out at no cost at this particular time to make sure that the system was working well. He is someone who does not run away from being called out five years after when he has provided a life time warranty. That I think is important.
Description of Work: We had Christopher Contracting to do a five year warranty review for the work they did in 2007, repairing the foundation at my mother's house.
