 + -1 moreIt was a new residence/condo I purchased so didn't have any idea as to the condition of the chimney. Noah came and gave me an honest assessment. Chimney was absolutely clean. I knew he drove a long way so I had no problem paying for the call. To my delight, he volunteered to clean my vents and dryer vents and did a great job (found 4 bird nests in my vents so now I know why my dryer was performing so poorly !) Thanks for the honesty and your professionalism !

 + -1 moreChimney sweep came to ensure that our fireplace was safe and ready to use. Michelle, was on time and efficient. She checked the chimney and fireplace with a visual inspection. Through her visual inspection Michelle confirmed that the chimney was clean, but she did show me a problem we had with safety. Our pipe was not seated at the damper, leaving it open to the chimney box; a major fire hazard. She referred us to Mike Fresco (fire place installation specialist). Who came out and cleared the problem and left us with a safe fireplace.

 + 0 moreWe were very pleased. They told us they would call again in 2017 to check things out unless we needed something before then. The name of the company is changing to Chimney Sweeps, I think. I was so happy with their service and honesty, that when I received the bill for $48.66, I offered to pay the estimated price, but was told they charge only for the services performed.
Description of Work: Chimney Sweeping by Mike Wood received an "A" on Angie's list. I called, was told that they couldn't come until after Christmas. I can't remember the estimate I was given,. I think between $160 and $175. I am also terrible with names, David? and M-? called yesterday and asked if they could come yesterday instead of after Christmas. They showed up 10-15 minutes after they called. They were very patient with our dogs. They checked out our fireplace, flue, etc. Apparently the fireplace has always had gas logs and never a real wood fire (we're not the original owners of the house).. They told us that everything looked fine. The burning dust we smelled the last time we turned on the gas logs was from dust on the gas logs themselves. David used a brush to dust off the logs, checked to make sure the logs were burning properly, explained how the gas logs worked, even repaired the fire screen which was hanging a little askew.

 + -1 moreCame in for a chimney cleaning. After a quick inspection, I was told that the chimney was prestine and didn't need cleaned for at least two years. The inspection was $48 with taxes, but well worth it. The service person was very friendly and extremely knowledgeable. She answered every single one of my questions and also gave us great tips for using our fireplace.

 + -1 moreServices were very easy to schedule. One 10 min call and I was set up. Services were explained thoroughly when I booked the appointment. Michelle and her helper arrived on-time and promply started the inspection. They were very polite and courteous. My chimney flue needed cleaned, as I suspected, and they quickly began to work. They took care to keep things clean and left zero mess behind. They completed the whole process in about 45 mins. I was completely satisfied with their service and would recommend them to anyone.

 + -1 moreMike and his helper Michelle arrived a bit late, but I live in a somewhat remote place so I'm accustomed to this. At least he found me! Lots of service people get lost. They were very pleasant and professional. They checked all 4 of my fireplaces and cleaned the one we use the most. They also cleaned the gas logs in it. They were very careful to protect furniture and rugs, and when they left you couldn't tell they had been here!
Description of Work: Checked 4 fireplaces/chimneys and cleaned one of them.

 + -1 moreMike was terrific and we will use him in the future. I was very happy I called him and that I went by the reports submitted.
Description of Work: Mike Wood was scheduled to come to our house between 10:30 and 11 AM. He cam right at 10:30 with an assistant. He looked up the chimney inside and then went on the roof and looked. He felt that the chminey did not need to be cleaned and that there was a cap already in place. So, he did not charge for a cleaning. I thought his advice was sound.

After inspecting, he let me know they did not need to be cleaned and he recapped both. He had arrived before I could make it home from the office.  + 0 moreArrived late, but did extra work that I originally had not requested; i.e., installing gas fireplace equipment and logs. Logs were in my car trunk, he carried them in for me. Was very careful about getting soot/dirt on my carpet. Cleaned up everything before leaving. Told me I wouldn't need to see him again for 5-8 years because the gas logs don't produce much soot. Friendly and polite. Sweep is $85, extra was for the gas logs.
Description of Work: Performed chimney sweep and also installed my new gas fireplace logs. Checked the gas line to make sure no leaks.

He also added wire mesh to a spot on the chimney cap where squirrels were getting in. He charged a reasonable fee, arrived on time and got the job done quickly. I'm very pleased with his service.
