I called 1 week later and spoke to Joe's wife, who explained that they would be sending the estimate in a couple of days. That was 8 months ago. It is common courtesy as a business, to follow up on your promises. If the job was too small, or not lucrative enough then tell the customer before you waste their time.
Description of Work: I had Carrillo Tile do a large job for me several years ago and some of the balcony tiles that they installed had started to come off, so I made an appointment with Joe to discuss repairs for the tiles that were falling off. In addition to the repairs, I needed an additional small closet tiled, and some patching and sealing of a large tiled patio. Joe said he would send me an estimate, but he never did.

The owner, Joe Carillo, came over ahead of time, inspected the area. Approved the tile I had found. His men came on the 14th and did a lovely job of rebuilding the countertop area, carefully making the hole exactly the right size, and laying the tile beautifully, sealing it as well. They did a perfect job, cleaned up completely, and I couldn't be happier.
Description of Work: Rebuilt the hole where my new sink needed to fit. The builders had made too big a hole when the house was built 17 years ago. I found a coordinating tile, and they used it to create a frame that now borders my new sink.

What a professional group of people. All aspects, estimate visit, scheduling, labor, were all done in a timely manner. We thought the estimate was a little high, until we saw the workmanship. It was worth every penny. The back splash turned out beautiful, such careful and detailed work. They followed my plan to the letter and we couldn't be more pleased. The tile guys were pleasant and easy to work with, and did great work. We had a good experience and would definitely use Carrillo Tile again if the need arises.

Carillo Tile came out to our home to cut our existing granite countertop to fit a new kitchen sink we were having installed. Once they cut the countertop they did a "dry fit" of the sink and the new faucet to make sure everything would fit properly. I was told there could possibly be a lot of dust whenever you have work like this done but the technicians cleaned up as they worked so there was very minimal dust. We were very pleased with the results and with their attention to detail. We would definitely recommend them to others.

Mr. Carrillo responded quickly to my request for an estimate. Our kitchen is small and had an odd window from a previous owner's remodel and I was unable to visualize the kitchen with tile and that strange window. Mr. Carrillo suggested that the window be removed and then explained how the tile I'd picked could be placed in the kitchen. We followed through with Mr. Carrillo's suggestion and the kitchen tile is amazing! From beginning to end the project was handled in a professional manner. The office staff did a great job communicating and following up. The installers were prompt and knowledgeable, even suggesting the best grout color for our tile. The entire project took only two days. It was by far the best experience I have had with a home improvement project.

We had sought three estimates for installing a tile back splash in our kitchen. We found Carrillo Tile to be the best estimate not only with pricing but suggestions from their staff about materials, grouting, timing to complete the job. We were very impressed with the installers that did the job. They were very professional, answered all of our questions, arrived on time and did a marvelous job on the installation. It took them three half days to complete the job and they cleaned up after each day. We have been so impressed with their attitudes, ethics and performance that we'll be speaking with them soon about a master bath remodel!

We needed to update our home and had several projects done in 2013. After talking to and getting estimates from some general contractors, we decided to get on Angie's list and contact tradespeople ourselves. I read a review of another company where the person stated he had had a much better experience working with Carrillo Tile than that company. At the time, Carrillo only had a few reviews, but I had a good feeling and contacted them. The owner, Joe came out to look at our master bathroom since we had a shower pan/drain leak issue in there that needed attention first. The 80's tired look of the bath needed a major facelift, and Joe provided some great ideas, as did the very helpful ladies in their showroom. Vanessa was a huge help to me since I was a newbie at renovating. She was extremely patient when we kept changing our minds and thereby making her change/update estimates. Once we decided on the materials and design, Carrillo's crews went to work and did an outstanding job. We could not be happier with the results. They are truly gifted craftsmen. We were very happy with their fair pricing too. We always knew exactly what we were paying for since every aspect of the work is listed separately on the estimate and invoice. The next project we hired them to do consisted of removing the carpeted area downstairs that our dogs had pretty much completely degraded; as well as the low level window sills that the dogs had scratched up beyond repair while barking at passersby. We decided to put in a very real looking "wood" porcelain tile and quartz window sills. They were the best decisions because both are now dog proof and look beautiful. There was an issue with the dark grout turning whitish after it dried, but Carrillo sent a crew over within days to painstakingly paint the grout at no charge which fixed the issue and made the flooring look like real wood. We were very impressed with that high level of customer service. Next, we hired Carrillo to do the tile flooring and new counter tops for the Jack and Jill bathroom. Everything turned out fantastic again and we are so happy with the results. This company is truly the very best. Thank you Carrillo Tile!!
Description of Work: Gutted original master bath (except for cabinets) and installed new, larger spa-like shower area with porcelain tile and a porcelain/granite niche and bench. Also installed a new porcelain tile floor with wainscot and granite window sills, and installed granite countertops and undermount sinks. In our Jack and Jill bathroom, they installed a new porcelain tile floor and 2 sets of quartz countertops with undermount sinks. In two living areas, they removed old carpet and installed porcelain wood-look tile, and installed 6 new window sills made of quartz.

First we went to the store after a recommendation from a design company (kitchen and cabinetry) and spoke with one representative. They told us that we can select the material and they performed the labor. We wanted quartz, so we choose a Cambria which they told us was approx. $25 sq.ft for the material itself. I called for an estimate and set-up an appointment. They came in about three days and measured the counter tops. I had to follow up like three times with them to receive the estimate, in what they told me that the owner was so busy in another project. The estimate of they gave me was in my opinion very high ($10,500), with lack of information as far as sq.ft. measured and every line item was on lump sum. After questioning the measurements, they sent me the draft and measurements of the slabs and cuts that needed to be made to fit the counter tops - it looked reasonably. A total of three slabs were needed. I questioned if the price of the slabs were included due to there was no price for this item in the quote, in which the response I received was a different quote and now with the three slab included for a price of $16,150. That was my last communication with them... Two more quotes from different contractors with A rating were in the range of $5,000 and $6,200 (including material without the backs splash installation). I think that they might do a good job since the outstanding rating, but for some reason the price was not even near the "expensive range". If they have lots of work and they just can't make the time to perform the work, a honest word would suffice. If they want to charge the triple just to see if someone is willing to pay, I think that is a waste of time for both, the clients and themselves.
Description of Work: Quotes for demolition of existing laminate counter tops approx. 85 sq.ft., three cut outs (two sinks and cook top) and installation of quartz (Cambria, Silestone, or similar), and 32 sq.ft. of back splash installation only.

We do try to get our bids out in a timely manner, however, it did take 5 work days to get [member name removed] his estimate. We did let him know that we were backed up & would get his bid to him as soon as we could. Each and every item & labor requested is line itemed on our bids. If sf makes sense, we include the sf. It has been about 3 months since we did this bid. I will try to remember as best I can. The Client asked for us to bid demolition, installation of granite tops, a granite splash & a tiled Kitchen Backsplash. A Kitchen sink & Faucet was also in the bid. After he e-mailed me I sent him a revised Estimate with the approximate cost of a Cambria slab. He had about 89 sf of slab work needed. The client emailed questioning if 3 slabs was really needed. I drew out all the tops & the splashes to show that 3 slabs were necessary. The slabs alone were about $5000 (includes freight). (He knew that that slabs were going to be pricey, so I am questioning why he is complaining of the bid price being more than $6000). If I remember correctly, [member name removed] had gotten a bid from someone else to do everything for around $6000. I did respond back that we could not match that price considering the cost of the slabs & to maybe check w/ the other bid to make sure that slabs were included in that bid and not just the labor. All of this communication happened within a day or 2. I wish him the best of luck on his project. - V.C.

I do not think any one could have done a better job! The workers were always on time and willing to do what was asked of them. They worked carefully and made sure nothing was was left out or left to chance. Help was given in moving heavy items of furniture and applliances. Our neighbors were likewise impressed impressed by the workmanship.
Description of Work: Porcelain tile was installed in over 1000 sq ft in the following rooms: dining room, kitchen, living room, utility room, half bath and three hall ways. The baseboard was also new porcelain . Tile in the entry was was removed in order to lay the new porcelain tiles.

My experience with them was excellent because when they came in I had a problem. I had a new bathroom put in on recommendation from a relative, and they wound up blowing that job on the tile because they didn't seal it right and there were all kinds of other problems. I called Carrillo Tile and Mr. Carrillo came in himself with his experts and they started uncovering stuff. So I decided to just have all the tile taken out and have it redone. They did everything perfectly, their crews were very good, courteous and on time. They got it done in less than a week.

They arrived promptly each day and worked hard all day. They were very clean and did a great job of cleaning the area especially during the demolition phase. They carefully removed the existing vanity so that I could clean it up and reuse it. They completed the work in the time frame promised and for the amount estimated.
Description of Work: Carrillo Tile removed our vanity, removed the existing tile floor in our second bathroom and the tile in the shower floor and replaced all the tile. They had to remove several inches of masonry that was under the existing tile floor and replace that masonry before retiling.

My first call to Carrillo Tile revealed courtesy and professionalism by the company. They were prompt in setting an appointment for Mr. Carrillo to come out to our house to give an estimate for installation of our kitchen tile backsplash and tile border around the wet-bar. Initially, we requested an estimate for installation only, as we had already purchased the tile, grout and sealer from a local tile store. Mr. Carrillo provided a fair and reasonable estimate for labor only, as requested. Then, I asked his professional opinion as to the tile and pattern we had chosen, as I was still not able to visualize how it was going to look (overall) with the new granite that was just installed. Mr. Carrillo was honest, professional and very gifted in his ability to visualize the completed look. He provided the honest opinion that I asked for, and he took the time to lay out our tile and point out that our chosen pattern would have looked "too busy" for the granite pattern that was already installed. Once he pointed it out, I could really see our mistake. When asked for his recommendation, he already had in mind what would enhance the granite counter tops and complete the look of our kitchen with a "simple, elegant" look, which is what we wanted. He told me that we could return our unused materials to the tile store, and exchange them for the Travertine Brick tiles from the same tile store, or come to his company office and see the tile that he was referring to, take the sample board home and look at it in our kitchen, in order to get a better idea of the finished look. He did not push his product on us at all; he just gave me our options, and offered to let us take his samples home to get an idea what the finished backsplash would look like with his recommendation. I accepted his offer to take his sample board home, and we loved the look! He was right on it!! We returned the materials that we had already purchased to the tile store, and got a fair and reasonable estimate from Mr. Carrillo to do the entire job: labor and all materials from his company. The installers were as professional, prompt and courteous as all the company representatives that we had dealt with up to that point. They obviously take great pride in their workmanship, as they did the job without rushing nor cutting corners, yet still completed the project on time. After the tile was installed around the stove area, they pointed out that the area would have a cleaner, more updated look, if a pre-existing border around the cabinetry, which had been there since 1982, was removed and tiled over. They asked my permission to do that, and it really did give it an much cleaner and updated look. I appreciated the fact that they took the time and trouble to remove part of the already installed tile in that area and re-do it, just to enhance my kitchen even more. The installers could easily have left it the way it was, said nothing about it, and gone on to another job. But, the fact that they saw the overall picture, took pride in their work, and helped us achieve the best possible look for our home, shows tremendous pride of workmanship that is rare now days. I wish I knew how to attach photos of our completed project, as we would love to show off Carrillo Tile's beautiful workmanship. We could not be happier with our experience with this OUTSTANDING company!! Integrity, honesty, fairness, attention to detail, quality of work and professionalism all show with every person we encountered in this company. We are now eager to remodel our master bathroom, and we will call Carrillo Tile for everything, from professional help with design, to granite & tile selection, to final installation. We highly recommend Carrillo Tile to anyone in need of tile or granite, or to anyone who is considering a bathroom or kitchen remodel! They definitely get the "BEST IN CLASS" award from us!!
