Careful Movers

DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY!! I moved on 10/3/24. Not only were the movers rude, but they deliberately hid one of my dining room chairs in the garage with boxes all around it because one of the legs was completely broken off! The other three chairs and table had numerous scratches. I have a 1940’s vintage metal suitcase that has sentimental value and it looks like a car ran over it. I tried multiple times to have the owner call me to no avail. Not even an apology or the decency to call me back to discuss the situation. Instead I get an email offering me $132.00 for all the damage they did. This company has total disregard for your property! Don’t make the same mistake I did. You’ll be sorry you did! I promise you that.

Do NOT hire this company! They will destroy your property then offer a couple hundred to settle. You're stuck with damaged property and given an insulting settlement. The mover destroyed my couch, it can no longer be used. I'm stuck with it in my storage and I have to dispose of it and they offer a couple hundred!! This is a horrible moving service! Do NOT use this service! These pictures don't even show all the damage done to my couch! I'm so angry over this incompetence!

We had a big 3 bedroom house that we sold and we were downsizing to an apartment because we have a home being built and the help I got from Andrew, Darrell and Will was incredible. My wife and I could not believe just how "careful" these movers were! We had a lot of very fragile items and nothing was broken and everything was handled with care. When we are ready to move again in 5 months I will request these guys again. You would be crazy not to use anyone else but this company.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! I hired them to move a beautiful, large, bevelled glass-topped dining room table, and watched as the two men chipped the glass in many places - ruined! The men knew that they had done it (I have before and after pictures), called the office, and I was assured by the office manager that they would take care of the glass being replaced. The office manager insisted that I pay the moving bill at that moment (which I stupidly did), and that the claims dept would contact me the next morning about replacing the glass top. However, once their "claims dept" - aka Monica- called several glass companies in town to get an estimate - and found out the price to replace it - everything changed! The story then became that they were only responsible to offer 60 cents per pound of the damaged item and with that, they offered me 1/40th of the replacement cost! Monica then told me that if I had any complaints, that I needed to take it up with the TEXAS DOT! Glass is glass . . . I was not asking them to place a monetary value on my grandmother's 4 poster bed . . . replacing the glass that was broken was not an unreasonable expectation, and had the men been unable to lift the top between the two of them, they should have called the office to ask for additional help. Subsequent requests to speak to the owners were ignored . . . BEWARE of THIS COMPANY . . .

The move went very smoothly. Jorge C and Joey were very cautious, professional, and friendly. It was an excellent move!

Disclaimer: This review is more about the office staff for Careful Movers than the movers themselves, however my experience with them was not good either, as they lied to me. Careful Movers completed a move for me on May 18, 2018. My movers were Jorge and Anthony. My main issue with the movers during the move was that they would frequently disappear while transporting items to/from the truck. Sometimes as much as 20 minutes would go by before they came back. During the transit between my old home and the new one, my 55” LCD TV was broken. The TV was powered on and working when the movers arrived. The movers wrapped it in moving blankets and shrink wrap before loading it onto the truck. Upon arriving at my new home, we discovered that the screen was broken. Jorge saw the damage, admitted the damage must have occurred during transit (that something must have shifted on the truck), and immediately took photos of it. He told me that he would file a damage claim with the office once he returned that afternoon. I allowed almost 2 weeks to go by, expecting to be contacted about the claim. On May 30, I called their office inquiring about my claim. The office staff told me that no claim had been filed, and I would need to do so by email. I immediately emailed them to initiate the claim process. I did not receive an acknowledgement of my claim until June 6, when photos of the damage were requested. I followed up again on my claim via email on June 27, July 11, and July 19. Finally, on July 20 (two full months after my move), I received a laughable settlement offer of $60 for my $500 TV. I immediately replied to the email denying the claim and tried to call them. By July 27, I still had no response, so I emailed yet again. I have placed at least a dozen calls, all going unanswered. I finally reached the general manager on July 30 and was told I would receive a response that day. So today, August 2, I had not received a response and called back. I spoke with the general manager and she was very rude to me and condescending. The called ended with her hanging up on me. My wife then proceeded call in, and was belittled, harassed, and even laughed at. She was also hung up on. I do not foresee a reasonable offer coming from them, so I will be taking them to small claims court. Bottom line, do not waste your money or trust your valuable or sentimental possessions to this shady company.

Two movers came (Jorge C. and Michael R) and did an excellent job. They were on time, very professional and very careful with the entire move. Will definitely rehire Careful Movers in the future for other moves.

Smoothly, timely, professionally, caring. My ratings look like I just went down the line w/o any thought to my ratings but the group of 3 movers that I had was absolutely fantastic!

They arrived promptly. They were very professional and we felt our jewelry, etc was safe around them. They were very careful to avoid walls. Everything was wrapped with blankets and plastic since it was raining. They cleaned their feet and closed the door (it was cold and windy). Edward G. And Derrick were excellent!

Terrible moving experience. I sensed a problem when I noticed the two guys they sent me would move one piece of furniture, hang out in the truck for ten minutes, then come back for another piece of furniture then hang out in the truck again. I called Brandy with my concern and she said that it was a '...process, one guy should be in the truck and the other guy should be bringing him items to load'. Well BOTH guys were hanging out in the truck. She suggested I talk to them myself so I did. They picked up the pace a bit but were not very 'careful' with my items anymore so I finally asked them to load my bigger items (refrigerator and entertainment center) and head to our new house because at this rate it was going to cost me all day and over $1000.00. When they arrived at the new house my husband, who is a government employee with a busy schedule, noticed the same problem. So he stopped what he was doing to help them unload to get the job done faster. After they were done I called Brandy back about being charged full price. She tried to blame it on me saying that she offered three guys for my 3 bedbroom house but I declined. I stated that I was told I would need 3 guys if I was taking my piano, if not, two guys would be fine since everything would be boxed and wrapped already. Brandy stated that they are '...careful movers not fast movers and some moves may take up to two days...and no one asked your husband to help...' Well if that is the case you do not need to be charging by the hour. We are out $495.00, time, and still need movers.

Outstanding experience. The Careful Movers team (Greg, Mike, and Gilbert) arrived on time and got to work. Packed up things that needed to be moved and at the new location set up furniture and hung pictures on wall. Everything was completed in approximately 4 hours. Would definitely hire again.

Don't use them!!! The movers where fast but they knocked some plaster of the wall in my brand newly constructed home. But the kicker is when I tried to get "Careful Movers" to repair it, they state that they need to call be back to schedule an appointment they never do. It's been almost a YEAR now!!!

Thomas and Mike arrived exactly on time and did an incredible job. They worked quickly and listened to my directions and special requests. They were very professional and polite. My expectations were exceeded and I recommend them highly. They knew how to get bulky furniture through narrow hallways and doors. The job cost less than expected and I was not charged for unused time.

AWFUL employees, block up a whole row of cars and then CUSS out neighbors asking them to move. Then accuse me of trying to steal a box of trash. I didn't even hire these people. Never will, no one should. Management acted defensively when I called as if people make up random stories about people they don't know to get them in trouble at work? Terrible company from top to bottom.

Was referred to Careful Movers by the Assisted Living facility. I called to get info. Very professional and easy to schedule. All inclusive price for 2hours. Additional fee for more time was disclosed but I did not need it so don't remember what it was. George and Dominick arrived a few minutes before scheduled time and got right to work. Wrapped and padded everything and took real care with everything as they loaded. When we arrived had to wait a few minutes before we could get into the room. They just brought everything to the door and waited. Then had to pick up and move everything inside and set it up. Done professional and efficiently. Easy for me. Definitely keeping their contact info to use this company again.

With each move all of the service men were very professional. They were always on time, always knew how to pack the items we were moving, and always set up the new living space as we directed. Nothing was ever broken or lost.

The three-man crew arrived on time on moving day. Loaded the furniture, boxes I had packed and washer and dryer. They were very careful in moving some of my mother's antique pieces (crystal, lamps and furniture). Unpacked everything very quickly, some pieces were heavy, but they managed them easily. I had them store several boxes in the garage. Several months later, I had another crew come out and move some heavier boxes in the garage to one side, to get my car in. Both crews were professional, polite and conscientious. I would use them again.

The 3 man team of Jeremy, Adam, and Darius were fantastic! They were very professional, worked hard, and were very polite. The first stop of the morning was at the storage unit where mom had some household items. The crew emptied the unit and loaded it into the truck and we were on our way in 20 minutes. Our next stop was at my mother's house. The crew loaded onto the truck more items going into storage first and the heavy furniture going to the new apartment went in last. Again the men worked quickly and efficiently but took the time to talk with my mother while she and quot;supervisedand quot; how they packed her things. I was impressed by the way they spoke with my mother, always addressing her politely and respectfully. I had asked for them to include 6 of their packing crates but Jeremy had the forethought to bring 10....and that's exactly what we needed!! He knows his job and does it well. Again the job was done in a timely manner because the men worked well together and they never stopped until everything was loaded into the truck. We moved onto the new apartment complex where the crew set up the truck and ramp and got to work immediately. The furniture was set up first and they even connected my mother's television and cable. Then came all the boxes, crates and odds and ends. It's a small apartment but the men unloaded their crates and put things away in an orderly manner. The only things left for us to do was unpack mom's personal things and make her bed. They even hung up her clothes in the closet. Needless to say, by the end of the day mom was so pleased she told them she wanted to adopt all three of them!! Our final stop was at the new storage unit and the crew once again set up quickly and efficiently. Before we realized it the last of the furniture and boxes was unloaded and placed in the room. We were done! The move took the better part of the day but we were pleased with the work performed by the crew. Nothing was broken, there was no damage, either to mom's belongings or walls or floors. Everything was left in an orderly manner and the most important person to please was my 86 year-old mother, and she was!! I highly recommend Careful Movers not only for being careful with our belongings but also for the care they showed my mother.

Just like their name, they were careful. They followed directions well and were very careful.

Careful Movers was wonderful to work with. Dave came to our house to give us an estimate of how much time it would take to move everything. He suggested 4 guys which worked out perfectly for the amount of furniture and boxes we had. The movers showed up on time. They were eager to work and worked well with each other. They worked from 9 until 4:30 without even taking a break. They were all courteous and professional. They took very good care of our furniture and were very careful not to damage any walls or floors as well. We thought they were reasonably priced. They did not add on other charges like mileage to and from their location. We still need to move some furniture out of a storage unit and plan on using Careful Movers again.

When I contacted Careful Movers the lady I spoke with was very professional and helpful and assured me the movers would be gentlemen and moves were not scheduled back to back so not to worry about a rush job. I scheduled movers to come to my apartment at 11:30 Saturday morning. On the morning of the move I received a phone call from movers and they wanted to push the time up because they had another move scheduled directly after mine, even though I was informed that moves were not scheduled back to back. I told them that I could not push the time up we had to stick with 11:30 as scheduled. During the load out of my furniture one of the movers asked if he could use my restroom and I said sure. Big MISTAKE!!! He took 15 minutes took a disgusting nasty poo that totally cheezed out my apartment and he used all of my toilet paper, I was so grossed out! Who does that? The other mover apologized and told me the guy was new. I was told that the move would probably take three hours and I made them keep their word I told the guys I would not pay for any extra time and they did not try to charge me for more.

I called several different moving companies to move this one piece of heavy furniture. The prices they quoted me were inflated. Everyone wanted at least an hours worth of pay. The charges went from $200 to $140 just to move one piece of furniture. Careful Movers said they would do the job for $40. The other part to the story is that I was having the floor refinished and the refinishers were suppose to move the piece of funiture, but they couldn't because one of the workers cut his arm and could not move anything. This was a 3 person job and I had 2 of the refinishers handy, but they could not stay very long. Careful movers sent someone out within 30 minutes. I was amazed I received service that went above and beyond what most companies would have done.

The move was great. We just had the wood floors done at our new house and they padded everything so well that there wasn't any damage. They worked for about 12 hours without taking any breaks. All of our furniture was perfect when it arrived. There were no nicks and nothing was broken.
