 + -1 moreI have never dealt with someone who is so unprofessional! Roy left a message on my voicemail calling my husband "sleazy", because he asked another contractor for an additional bid. BTW - my husband is a man of integrity, and prides himself for his ethical practices. His voicemail also said that he did not want to ever do business with us again. After I called to provide him with an explanation of the misunderstanding, he said "Please don't ever contact me about this matter again". I was floored by this! I just want you all to know that this man is very peculiar, and I would beware.
Description of Work: We have done business in the past with Roy Burges, and he has always been the highest priced bidder. However, we called him to do some painting on the inside of our house, and apparently hurt his feelings because we also asked for another bid. My husband and I crossed signals, and he also asked another contractor, who Roy also knew, to quote the job.

 + -1 moreRoy and his team were referred by a friend. They had a reputation of costing a bit more than average, but also of providing A+++ quality work and super service. They lived up to the reputation in every respect. Roy's bid was a tad higher than some other painters we evaluated, but we were impressed with his professionalism and attention to detail. Work was accomplished on time and on budget, with trouble-free prep and cleanup. On the pre-completion walk-through, my (detail oriented) wife could only find two tiny defects that the team readily corrected. Great work!
Description of Work: Re-painted entire exterior of our fairly large home, including lots of detail work.

 + 0 moreI called Roy to coordinate the repair of the ceiling and carpet cleaning which was scheduled to be done. He immediately set up the work date and time. All services were completed in the room which had all the furniture removed. Roy finished just in time for the carpet cleaners to work their magic. Roy has done interior wallboard repair and painting as well as exterior siding repair and painting for us. Both Roy and his crew are dependable, clean, courteous and prompt. It's a small business to rave about!
Description of Work: Fixed vaulted ceiling wallboard tape, textured it and painted.

 + -1 moreThis job was done very well. I got several estimates for the work. Roy's bid came in a little higher than some of the others but I chose him because I had him do some work for me before and was very satisfied with the results. I was not disappointed on this job. He did not do any spray painting. He used only brushes and rollers. Part of the job involved painting trim and a chimmney at the top of a metal roof with a fairly steep incline. Roy's team got the job done in a safe manner. Many of Roy's painters have been with him a long time and are very professional. Roy was on the job site often supervising his team and keeping me informed. The job was completed at the estimated price and I am very satisfied.
Description of Work: Power washed and painted all trim, gutters, fascia, soffits and garage doors. Painted trim around stucco windows. Painted stucco chimney. Replaced rotted wood in one spot behind gutters. Repaired and painted foundation masonary.

Gary Burges was very prompt and attentive when making the bid. His painters were skilled and professional. The price was reasonable and the job was done quickly and neatly. My next painting project will go to Burges without reservation.

 + 1 moreRoy gave us an estimate and said the job would not take much time. He said he'd call us when he could fit it in between other jobs. We were not in a hurry so this was fine. Well the following week he called and the job is finished. The house looks incredible!!
Description of Work: We had some rot damage to our cedar siding, mold on the rest of the siding and on the rain gutters. The siding was repaired and textured to look exactly like the cedar around it. All repair work was primed and painted to match the existing paint. All the siding and gutters were first hand washed to remove the mold and then power washed. After the power washing, we probably won't have to repaint the exterior for another two years. We hired Roy because he did interior ceiling patching and painting and painted the exterior of our home about five years ago. When he did the interior ceilings, drywall tape had to be removed and replaced and then painted. The paint was matched and there is no way to tell this was done. We spoke with Roy following this job to let him know we'll need some more repairs and interior painting. His work and those on his crew is supurb!! We live in a subdivision of 84 properties and Roy has probably worked in most of the homes.

 + -1 moreThis is a professionally run operation and it shows in the results. Roy Burges came out, looked over the kitchen and offered suggestions. He was most helpful in the selection of the paint color. All paints and supplies were included. His estimate was on the mark as to price and time required. The two men he assigned to the job were perfectionists (got this from the boss, I'm sure). They arrived between 8 and 8:30 each morning and worked until 4:30. Since they brought their lunch and ate in the truck, little time was lost. Each day they cleaned up after themselves. When they finished the kitchen was cleaner than when they started!
Description of Work: Painted kitchen cabinets which included removing & replacing hinges from 34 doors; drilling holes and installing knobs and pulls on all cabinets and doors; painted 5 doors, baseboards, window frames and other trim. It took slightly over 4 full days.

 + -1 moreThe employees were very pleasant and knowledgeable. They are a higher priced. Roy, the owner assisted in color selection. They are extremely good at follow up to assure customer satisfaction. Following the painting job, I had my countertop installed. They were willing to come back to my home for retouching some areas that got nicked.
Description of Work: I had my master bath and cabinetry primed, painted and textured. The company primed, painted and textured my second bath as well. They prepped the walls by filling in nail holes and making certain it was a clean surface.

His crew was on time and did an outstanding job of painting and cleanup. The job was performed in less time than was estimated and we were very pleased.

The foreman for the team was not present during the day, but the individuals he left to do the painting did a fine job, were minimally intrusive upon my family (we have my handicapped mother-in-law living with us as well as a 13-month-old) and were very courteous. They finished the job in the time promised and for the amount promised. There are no blemishes, paint-spots, dirt-tracks, etc., elsewhere in the house. Overall, a very professional job.

 + -1 moreOur family room had the original paneling that was installed when our home was built. Looking to brighten the room and update the look, we decided to paint the paneling. I obtain Roy Burges' name from Angie's List. He won our confidence and the bid for this project. The paneling was prepared for painting. Two coats of primer and two coats of top coat were applied to the paneling. It has totally transformed the look of our family room. Roy's painters were professional craftsmen. The project was completed in the time estimated. All details of cleanup were done with exceptional care. Furniture was protected and replaced to it's original position. I can't say enough good things about this company. I would recommend them highly, and will call upon them again for any painting projects in the future.

 + -1 moreRoy and his painter Jesse were punctual each of the four days it took to complete the project. Jesse was very polite and meticulous with keeping the paint where it belonged along with cleaning up after each days work. Furniture was moved with respect and replaced in the same manner. The ceiling beam joints have never looked so good. Jesse is truly a master of this trade. Ensuring satisfaction was achieved, and a top priority. The price may be considered moderate to high; however for the overall experience and outcome, it was well worth the cost. Using Burges Painting would be my top choice.
Description of Work: The dining room, entry, gallery, kitchen, breakfast room and living room were painted. In addition, ceiling beam joints were repaired in the dining room and master bedroom with painting of both ceilings in addition to the connecting entry and gallery.
