Customer service was horrible in the store but the price was decent so I decided to purchase the countertops along with two undermount sinks. The original plan was to purchase a 96x24 countertop slab and have them cut it to fit my two vanities. This would require them to bullnose the extra piece created from the cut. Ming suggested that since Bullnosing the second countertop would be expensive, I could instead just purchase an existing "extra" piece he had already bullnosed. All they would have to do is cut it to match the depth I needed. Since I would be purchasing the 96x24 slab along with this "extra" piece, Ming said he would discount the purchase if I let him keep the remnants from the cuts. I didn't see a problem since his discount made it worth it. Little did I know, there was a reason that "extra" piece was just lying around outside. He told me the countertops would be ready in 4 days I could pick them up then. There was no handshake after I paid or a thank you for your purchase. I knew to walk away when I signed the debit receipt and he just turned away. I received a call that the countertops were ready so I got a buddy and went to go pick them up. It was close to closing time so I called ahead. The man that answered the phone told me his warehouse was closed but that it was fine to pick them up as long as I had help. When I arrived at the store noone knew who I talked too, nor were they willing to let me pick up my merchandise. That was the first waste of time. Two days later I went back early in the morning to avoid any warehouse issues. Ming Man greeted me with "Can I help you?" Proceeded by "yeah, go to gate!" I just figured he didn't like conversation so I went to the back and picked up what I needed. He was very quick to try and make me sign for my goods. I was trying to look over my invoice and he kept shoving the signature to me. I pointed out to him that he did not give me the plywood required for the install (which he charged me for). He yelled at a worker and told me they would cut it for me now. I said okay and Ming shoved the signature in my face again. This is where I made the mistake of signing without examining the countertops carefully. Two days later I'm picking up one of the counterops when I feel something strange on the bullnose. There was a crack that run from underneath the slab, thru the bullnose, and on to the top of the countertop. It was plain to see that this was not something caused by transport. This looked like a failed attempt by the seller to seal/mask the crack in hopes that noone would notice. This must have been my "extra" piece. Now I knew what the discount was for. I immediately called Builder's Mark and spoke to Ming. After first lecturing me how natural stone has cracks and that it would not take away from the strength of the countertop, I convinced him this was serious. It was Saturday afternoon so he eventually told me to bring it in on Monday morning to see if they could repair it. Here's the second waste of time. I took off work and took it to show Ming on Monday. He came out, and when I tried to show him the issue he immediately began placing blame on me for damaging during transport. I tried to get him to look at the crack or even run his hand over it but he refused. He said transporting in a professional manner would have prevented the crack. I told him it was impossible for me to create such damage without extreme force. He just walked away hastily. He had no intention of repairing it, he never did. Now I'm stuck looking for options to repair it or getting a new one altogether. I accept some blame in not examining the slabs before signing, but I didn't expect Ming to replace the entire countertop. I merely hoped he would have empathized with my situation and at least given me some tips on repairing. Not this guy, he acted the same way he did after he had my money. He just turned away. You definitely get what you pay for!

We went into this store a total of 3 times hoping to find a small countertop for our bathroom. The 1st time was on 1/16/2013 and they told us their computers were down. They advised us they couldn't help or give us any quotes whatsoever without their computers working which seemed unlogical, they were rude about it too. The 2nd time we attempted was on 1/21/2013 (MLK) day where my wife and I both had the day off and thought we'd give this place another chance. The Asian people there are the rudest people we've ever encountered in San Antonio. It was so obvious that they only wanted to cater to the people that were looking to drop a lot of money which was quite sad. First of all there were no prices on any of their slabs whatsoever. When we'd ask for a price on any item, the Asian guy would give price and walk off right away. I went in another week later thinking there'd be someone different to assist me, but there were the same rude people. Their remnants are all tied together too so you can't even get good look at them. We would never ever reccommend anyone to visit this place unless you want to be treated like crap. Pretty sad considering we were thinking of replacing all of our countertops in our home, but after this terrible experience we will never step foot into this place ever again.

We made several trips to the store when making our decision to install granite counter tops. Builders Mark had a showroom which allowed selection of the material based on large pieces rather than the typical 4" square samples in other stores. I took measurements to the store to get a "ballpark" figure on cost and the staff was willing to work with it while cautioning me that they would take their own measurements which could change the figure. Fortunately, they didn't bring material based on my measurements because I was in the wrong ballpark. Once accurate measurements were made, the crew showed up on time, attacked the kitchen and looked like a swarm of ants working on a cast off tomato. They removed the old counter tops quickly, remeasured everything, and went back outside. Their equipment was on the truck and they did all the work outside which minimized the inside mess. They would cut a piece, bring it in to test the fitment, take it back outside and fine tune it before installing it. One piece took four trips. When everything was installed, they cleaned up the area and when they left, the only indication they had been here was the new countertops. They took the old countertops and disposed of them, installed the new ones, cleaned up any dust, and installed back splash - all within the same day. The crew leader was polite, professional and made sure everything was done to our satisfaction. I would definitely hire them to do other granite work for me.
Description of Work: When we bought the house, it had formica butcher block pattern counter tops in the kitchen. Because of the U-shaped configuration, the joints made the whole appearance obviously fake. We decided to have granite tops installed and shopped around for quality, price, etc before settling on Builders Mark. The crew showed up on installation day right on schedule. They had equipment on the truck which allowed them to make the cuts and fine tune them on site. My main concern was with joints which were required to fit the countertops to our cabinets. When finished, although I knew where the joints were, they were virtually invisible. The installation looks like it was made from a giant piece of granite rather than three pieces. The amazing thing is that most of the work was done outside so the mess in the house was minimized.

The marble itself is fine. The installation crew and the sales person, not so much. I'm preparing the house for sale. Ming Man at Builders Mark (I35 & Walzem) quoted me $750. Best price I found for a 57" counter top and sink that included removal of old and installation of new. Once I went in to actually buy the counter top, the actual cost was $80 more. He said because of needing to cut for an electrical receptical in the back splash. But that was in the original 'estimate'. Too close to house closing to shop anew, so bit my tongue and paid >>IN FULL<< for the job. Installers were early on day selected. 3 man crew was OK, but their being Asian precluded them from speaking and understanding English. Yes, they could communicate, but when we were attempting to discuss details of the install they were 'unable' to understand my concerns. I finally gave up. The old backsplash measured 4". Because of the thickness variation of the new marble and the old, once the counter top was in place the actual measurement varied from 3 7/8" to 3 5/8". They charge me an additional $55 to trim the back splash to fit. At that point I had zero option to refuse. The install itself was only acceptable because of the mess they left inside and out. Additionally they cut their marble in the driveway where the s*** from the cutting process coated the garage doors. They left bits and pieces of marble littering the driveway. I also swept up small, sharp shards of granite from the bedroom and bathroom floors. I cannot recommend this company and I would not use them again regardless of their prices.

We shopped around and we were really pleased with how they worked with us as far as going over what we wanted. We were having really bad weather and they worked with us as far as getting it done on a timely basis. The job turned out beautiful. The price was very reasonable. They were very polite and really went out of their way to make sure everything was done and they kept in contact with us. They did a very good job.

I had purchased two vessel sinks from Builder's Mark before and was satisfied with the price and quality, these I installed myself. I saved money by removing the old counter top. Deep rear drain SS sink was included in the price. Price was the best we found plus service and work were great. When I took my measurements in for an estimate everyone was very friendly and helpful. We picked the granite style we liked and purchased a sample for $2 to take home to compare with our tile. There was no pressure, just a follow up call to check our interest. We took the sample back and exchanged it with another color before making up our minds. I also checked prices elsewhere. The bull nose finish is standard. There were a couple of friendly follow up calls while we thought this over and all my questions were answered. The installers first trip to the house was to install the counter top, they took my measurements which made me a little nervous at first, but all cutting is done on site and that includes the sink opening. They set up in front of the house, took measurements and cut and polished everything right there. The installers were Chinese, but the leader spoke English well enough we had no trouble communicating. They showed up on time and finished in time estimated. Prior to installation we were allowed to go to the store and look at the different slabs of granite in our color and pick the ones we liked. They were marked and these were the ones installed.
Description of Work: Install new granite counter top and backsplash in kitchen with undermount sink, about 44 sq ft. Deep rear drain double SS sink was included in the price.
