+ -1 moreOverall, I have been quite satisfied with Bob Jenkins Pest & Lawn Services. At first, their prices seemed a little high. However, when they had to come out for follow up, there was no additional charge. And when they came out but did not treat, there was no charge. Taking that into consideration, the prices seem quite fair. Also, when I have called in with questions, they always take their time and don't try to rush me off the phone as some companies sometimes do. The technicians who have come to the house and the people I have spoken with on the phone seem knowledgeable and confident in what they are telling me. I have looked up some of the information on the internet and confirmed what they said, and it was correct. They have thoroughly explained everything before doing it and been upfront with all costs. I have no reservations in giving this company an A rating, and I will call them again if I have pest problems.
Description of Work: I have used Bob Jenkins Pest & Lawn Services about 4 times in the past 6 months. The first time I called them because I saw on Angie's List that they provide some Eco-friendly services. Brian came out the first time for fire ants. He was not able to use an eco-friendly treatment for the fire ants, but he treated the whole yard with Top Choice. A couple of weeks later, we saw an active ant hill still in the yard, so Brian came back out to treat that at no additional charge. Have not noticed a fire ant problem since. The second problem was wasps, both the large red ones and yellow jackets. Brian was able to use eco-friendly products for the wasps. Brian sprayed outside the house in the areas where we saw a lot of wasps and also dusted in the attic for wasps because he saw them coming and going from an opening outside the house into the attic area. We still see a few wasps, but that is to be expected since they are flying insects and can come into the yard from anywhere. Their numbers are greatly reduced, especially the large red wasps. The third problem was scorpions. We found one dead and one alive in the house. Randy came out and, since we don't want poisons especially inside the house, suggested copper mesh be applied in the weep holes as a barrier. We scheduled that for another day, and Randy completed the job in about an hour and a half. We have not seen any more scorpions. Most recently, I found a large wasp nest in a bush and called about it. Randy came out and determined it was an old, abandoned wasp nest. He got it out of the bush for me and disposed of it. While he was here, I showed him a bug I had found inside the house. He took it back to the office and looked at it under a microscope. He called me the next day to tell me it was a tick that had probably come in on our clothes and would not require treating the house. Today I called to ask about some tiny insects I found on my window sill last night after opening the window. RJ told me they were springtails that were harmless and probably would not require treatment. He went on to explain the type of treatment they could use if the springtails became more of a nuisance.

+ -1 moreI was having windows replaced in my home when an old bedroom window that was removed revealed 1000's of wood ants swarming on the wall inside of the room. At the site of those ants, I wasn't sure what to do, but I checked Angie's list and called the top rated exterminator, Bob Jenkins. When I told them of my predicament, they responded and sent a technician within 2 hours. The ants were eradicated and the price paid included an additional whole house extermination with a return visit the next day. On the return visit the technician not only exterminated the whole house but also sprayed the yard of our huge corner lot for pests.
Description of Work: Extermination of wood ants and general household extermination.

+ -1 moreWe were having problems with some agressive bees. They had already stung our two dogs and were afraid for our grandchildren who play in the backyard. After having not seen one of our dogs for one day and pulled numerous stingers from the other dog, we called Bob Jenkins. They came out as promised on time, put on their bee clothing, located the bees behind our fence and eliminated them. It was amazing to see the bees swarm around the two service techs as they did their job. After the service reps completed the job, they told us what to expect within the next few days and that we should see no trace of those bees within a week or so. They were correct, after a week or so, we had absolutely no bee problem and I to could mow our lawn. We never saw one of our dogs again. We assume the bees killed him because he was familiar with the neighborhood and always came home. Great job and we will call again if the need arises.
Description of Work: Bob Jenkin service techs came to the house and eliminated an aggressive hive of bees after we noticed we had one missing dog.

Description of Work: He went around the outside of the house & completed it quickly. I knew his pesticide worked because the next day, ants were coming out from behind my bathroom mirror to get away from the poison! it took me 2 weeks to finally kill them all with Raid!

Description of Work: We called them to spray our new home for carpenter aunts. They sprayed inside and outside. While they were there they saw we had a wasp problem and sprayed for that without charging us more than they quoted over the phone.

+ -1 moreWe've used Bob Jenkins for the past 2 quarters now. They are prompt, professional and do a complete job. They like to schedule you with the same technician each time so that person becomes familiar with your home. We definitely plan to keep using them.
Description of Work: The technicians with Bob Jenkins spray thoroughly inside and outside the house, and in the attic which we weren't getting with our previous pest control company. They use your garden hose and do a broadcast over grass and shrubs near the the house. They seem to do their best to cover it all.

+ 0 moreThis company has had Super Service awards from 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, and 2011. I can see why. JR could had advised me to have his man leave a trap, at a cost, and if nothing happened in weeks, they would retrieve it. I'd be out the initial cost. He told me he would not take advantage as some persons might do; suggesting customers have the trap placed, In case. I will hire this company anytime I have any kind of pest problem in the future. The honesty and integrity displayed by JR, and the remarks on Angie's List, indicate to me, this compant has really earned the awards. I will followup in the future, if i have to use this company.
Description of Work: I spoke with JR on 07/20 after Doug, from Y's Guys Handyman Service, did a fix on my chimney cap on 07/20 (see my review on Y's Guys Handyman Service). I explained we heard noises off and on the previous week, and after Doug found a hole in the roof next to the chimney, he had made a temporary fix in the roof. I made an appointment with Bob Jenkins Pest & Lawn Services for 07/23 at 1:30 PM. We did not hear any noise in the attic from Friday night (20th) to Sunday night. The patch on the roof was still intact. I called Bob Jenkins Pest & Lawn Services this morning and spoke to JR again. I asked his honest opinion if I should pay to have one of his techs place a trap as there was no noise for three nights. He replied no, and said he didn't want to charge me to put a trap in the attic for nothing, if no critter was there. He suggested I wait, as I will have a roofer tomorrow give me an estimate to repair the problem. He said he didn't want to charge me to leave a trap and nothing was in the attic. He also said, if I heard a noise anytime after, to call and he'd send someone out.

+ -1 moreThey arrived on time and proceeded to spray around the perimeter of the home. He finished really quick and confirmed that he had sprayed all around the house. Less than 5 days later we again saw roaches and fleas. I did call them back to respray, but it wasn't until more than a month later so the guarantee had expired. To be fair this was the first time we had exterminated in over 6 years, but we have since had another company do the same service and have been happy with them.
Description of Work: They came out and sprayed around the home. We had asked if this service would take care of roaches and fleas and they said yes.

Bob Jenkins Pest Control offered to heavily treat and bait to rid our home of these pests once and for all, even offering to come back in 2 weeks to re-treat at no cost, if necessary. Apparently, they did the job well the first time, as we have not seen any more ants. We have also signed up for quarterly treatment, in order to control the ants, as well as spiders & other insects.
Description of Work: Pest control service, to include inside/outside treatment, and bait traps for abundance of sugar ants.

+ -1 moreI was SO impressed!!! He was very punctual and had on surgical booties to protect my floor. After he arrived he introduced himself, collected payment and was very organized about what he would be doing as well as in how he explained it to me. I felt very included and also noticed that he was not in a huge HURRY, not like he was trying to just get the call overwith. He took his time, asked me where all the trouble spots were, explained what/why that was etc.I also noticed that he didn't try to give me a big sales pitch about returning or signing me up for future services. I actually ended up inquiring about it after he was done because I was so impressed, but he didn't do that. I respect the professionalism. Also, the salesperson who took the order on the phone for this job did not try to do this, which I also really appreciated and which I took to mean that they knew the professionalism of their work would sell itself. Well done!
Description of Work: They sprayed our entire house and perimeter for bugs very thoroughly, then put out granules/powder to help against roaches (in back yard) as well as setting up some ant bait in my kitchen.

+ -1 moreI was still seeing a lot of ants so he came back out and re-did the outside for free. They called it a courtesy call and Brian did a wonderful job. I requested him to come out because he came out the first time. I had expected to pay but I didn't have to. Every three months they contact me and set up an appointment to come back out. Since they have last sprayed, I haven't seen any ants. I do know that I am on a residential pest control agreement and I know what they are going to charge me every time they come out. The service technician that came out to take care of my home was very professional but also very wonderful.

Was quoted a price of $126.03 which included taxes, upon arrival of Tech whom was 15 minutes late, he advised me it was $129.03 plus taxes total over $140.00, I advised him that was not correct it was 126.03 total, he then stated "Your Balking over $3.00, I'll give you the $3.00. " I don't know about this gentleman but I earn every penny of my money and 1 penny over the quoted price is more than I shall pay, it was more like over $11.00, AND YES FOR $11.00 dollars You've lost my business, BEWARE OF SCAMS AND ALWAYS ASK FOR THE FINAL TOTAL, BECAUSE WITH THIS TECH IT CHANGES. + -1 moreSome mysterious bug was biting so I immediately called Bob Jenkins Pest Control. Joe, who had treated the house in the past, came out and he looked for bed bugs and could not find any traces. He did however see carpet beetles. I decided that he should go ahead and treat the entire house just to be on the safe side. He and his colleagues went to work immediately. I of course left the house but they were done very quickly, cleanly and quietly. No more biting bugs.

+ -1 moreOverall this was an excellent experience start-to-finish. I contacted the company for pest control services and they quickly set up an appointment for me the following week at 10:00am. Tracy showed up exactly at 10:00am, explained the whole process and went to work. He was very friendly and knowledgeable and finished treating our house in about an hour and a half. He recommended a regular service program, but didn't oversell. This experience was so good that i plan on using Bob Jenkins Pest & Lawn Services again.

+ -1 moreWe thught we had birds in the attic, so we called a professional, because we know it's illegal to move some bird nest. The service person arrived early, assessed the situation and pointed out that we had birds on the outside of the garage and not inside.He didn't charge us a thing!! I've only had that happen to me a couple of times in my life. I plan to recommencd this company to anyone that will listen.
