Response from Blackwerks Ind
We are extremely disappointed that you and your wife are not happy with the project. We have spoken on the phone and had two project manager out to the project on numerous occasions to address your concerns. To address your treated skirting (the material that needed to dry). That material was treated pine pickets that were extremely wet when installed (which you felt and agreed to). We were back before the quoted 5-7 days to have it painted. We were back again to have it cleaned up and trimmed out. The minimal parts of the deck that are incomplete have nothing to do with “drying out” as you know based on all of our phone calls, house visits, and texts messages. The sections that are incomplete are absolutely due to material availability. This was discussed before the project was even started. The Trex composite decking that you wanted specifically was on backorder and very hard to find. You and your wife called multiple suppliers yourselves throughout this project to order as well without success. We were able to secure 98% of all of your composite decking quickly because of the relationships that we have with local suppliers. It was all that was available at the time. Then COVID happened and made that material a “special order” item with a 6 month lead time. We have made every attempt to procure that material (to finish your stair risers) as fast as we can. As I mentioned in our numerous phone conversations, this has been an unprecedented time for not only the construction industry as a whole and our business, but the country as a whole. We have , and continue to rise above and beyond those obstacles and work everyday to improve our service based on the “new normal.” We will make sure that your stair risers are finished, and will extend our warranty to make sure that any other small finish work is tightened up and acceptable to you. We apologize for the delay, and are working hard to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction. Thank you and have a great day!
