An AMAZING Job Very Well Done!!! I searched for Michael & his Black Pearl Custom Painting, LLC to stain & seal my wood fence. His business did a phenomenal job!!! My fence looks great!!! I am sooo pleased!!! From day one when Michael contacted me, I felt at ease with him completing my request. He answered my every question, he followed up, patiently waited as I waited for approval from my HOA & have portions of the fence repaired by my builder, & all for a very reasonable price. Mike and Jose from Black Pearl Painting just finished the exterior of my house as well as my kitchen cabinets. Their work was meticulous, and they both are so personable. I have used this company multiple times and I keep calling back because they do such a great job. I have multiple wood structures around my house, porch, and cabana and they did an excellent job staining all of it. They also painted the concrete floor of my porch and it looks awesome. Mike of Black Pearl Painting has painted the interior and exterior portions of my home. I have called him back for every new job over the years. Good work, very professional, stays within budget and the time frame promised. He’s trust worthy. I gave him keys to my home and he finished the project. Mike did excellent work on our gazebo, but did not complete the rotted wook repair, as he said he would, even though we agreed on a fair price.

While we didn’t end up using this company, I can not say enough about how professional they were in the bid process. They took the time to go through the process and options, and the quote was excellent. The only reason we went with another company was on a personal recommendation from coworkers. I would have no issues hiring Black Pearl.

Work done was fantastic. Workers cleaned up my back yard like no one had been there. We had a very hard rain just two days after stain was applied. Mike agreed to come out and reapply the stain. Black Pearl will stand by there guaranty.

I had a section of my fence that was leaning and in disrepair. I contacted Mr. Doherty and he came out to give me an estimate the same day. He gave me a detailed explanation of what would be needed for the repairs and was able to complete the work just a few days later. His crew was quick and did a great job!

I have used Black Pearl Custom painting a few times now. Always professional and responsive. Good pricing. Stained a couple large wood decks and repaired stucco damage and exterior painting. Happy with the services provided. Michael (owner) went above and beyond when I was in a jam with a rental unit and he graciously came over to handle work just hours before my tenants were to move in. Great guy both personally and professionally. Highly recommend his company.

Everything went according to plan and estimate, its nice to have honest brokers and will help you get the projects done around my house and use quality products. The fence and shutters come out perfect. Highly recommend!

Michael and his team did a great job. They do high quality work and make sure the job is to your standards. He will go the extra mile to make sure the work gets done timely and his very responsive. I had him come an look at our deck to get re-stained and he let us know that it did not need to be done yet that we had 6-9 months before it needed it which I appreciated. And 6 month later he was responsive and completed it for us and it was much better than the original company we used. This is why we used them again for our fencing needs.

Black Pearl Custom Painting provided excellent service from consultation, as work was completed and post work to ensure I was happy with the outcome. The owner is very receptive to questions and took all my requests into consideration. I have had several jobs completed by Black Pearl and am never disappointed!

I don't like leaving negative reviews, but it is my hope that the owner will take this feedback and improve Black Pearl's communication with clients. In summary, the owner came out to my residence in mid-April and estimated a small job I needed done (re-staining a 12' X 15' terrace). He told me that his schedule was full until middle or late May, but that in all likelihood his team could complete the job in May. This was fine by me. I told him I liked the price and would talk it over with my wife before getting back to him. I promptly got back to him about wanting to go forward with the work and getting my job on his schedule for May. But unfortunately, after this point our communication became very unreliable. When I finally made contact with the owner, I expressed yet again that I wanted to get my job scheduled and delicately mentioned some concern over the unreliable communication. When I mentioned unreliable communication, our business relationship swiftly degenerated in a manner that I deem unprofessional on that contractor's part, hence this review. As can be seen below, I couldn't have been clearer about my decision on moving forward, so the owner shouldn't have insisted that I wasn't clear about that decision as an excuse for his spotty communication with me. In the end, I've wasted weeks waiting on Black Pearl, when I could've made alternative arrangements with another contractor. While Black Pearl's bid was in-line with my budget, undercutting the competitors does very little for clients if the contractor can't schedule the job and deliver on a reasonable timeline. Black Pearl may do this with other clients, but they didn't with me. Excluding my last phone call with the owner, I would assess him as polite and direct on a personal level, and from Angie's list, it seems like his team does really good work. My communication problem with Black Pearl seems to have been corresponding by text message instead of calling the main office for scheduling. While the owner perhaps attempts to correspond with clients by text on his mobile phone, it did not go well in my experience, and other prospective clients might encounter the same. Keep this in mind if you plan to go with Black Pearl. Michael is a consummate professional. He and his crew did an excellent job tearing out the old wooden walkway and replacing it with a pretty and perfect fit. He was polite when he bid the job, very educational when he explained the process, and worked with me on the price (using Angie's list discount). He left the remaining can of stain and explained how we could maintain the walkway ourselves. He is not your typical odd job guy; he is very knowledgeable about a wide range of subjects, and takes great pride in his company's work.

Mike and his buddy, Jose did a fantastic job. Jose spent a good six hours sanding all of the wood. They customized the color of the stain to suit our needs. They replaced a board, hand stained the overhang over the grill, resulting in a beautiful job. The deck looks brand new. They even cleaned some wooden furniture we have outside. They were punctual, professional, and very easy to work with. We would definitely recommend Black Pearl to anyone needing to have their deck restored.
