The staff at Bjorn's was friendly, responsive, and engaging. The receiver was tested when I dropped it off to confirm the problem. They repaired and cleaned the receiver quickly it now sounds crisp and clean.
Description of Work: Repair a bad left front channel on a Yamaha 7 Channel Receiver.

On a scale of 1 - 10, it was a 10+. Martin, the technician, who came to our house, was a seasoned pro... He assessed the situation and told us he'll order the appropriate replacement part and then he'll get back with me... Sure enough, in a couple of days he called me, came by the house and did a thorough job of replacing the part, reprogramming some functions and making sure everything is working properly. In the meantime, I asked him lots of questions and patiently answered all of my questions... Before he left, he told me he'll check back with us to make sure everything is still functioning properly....
Description of Work: We just bought an expensive, new Samsung TV that kept going out on us... The picture would simply fade away. After a Geeksquad technician diagnosed the problem, I contacted Samsung and they, in turn, referred me to Bjorn. And so I didn't find them on A.L. but since they are listed here, I'm doing a review on them.

After making a few calls from the list of available service technicians on Angie's List to replace my lamp light on my 6 year old Samsung HD TV - this is what I got. Lamp light from Intertex approximately $120; a service call of $49 to assess the situation would be applied plus a installation fee of $59. These quotes came from one provider - Joe's TV and VCR. Now there is nothing wrong with the price quotes I got from Joe's TV and VCR. They are business people just like we are. I assessed this information though and felt I needed to investigate a little more. I decided to talk to Bjorn's and I came across an individual that explained to me that this issue WAS an issue that Samsung made provisions for their customers to correct on their own by showing in detail within the owners manual HOW to replace this lamp light. He then explained to me that they had the very part I needed at a price of $97.41 and that he had performed this himself. He also explained some do's and don'ts on the installation. I picked up the part; followed their directions and looked at the owners manual off the Samsung website and executed the installation perfectly. The TV has been working with no problem (picture looks much, much better) and I am very pleased with the coaching and savings I got from Bjorn's. Keep up the good work.

Capacitors in the power supply were too weak for the power that was needed to run the plasma tv. Samsung had a recall but didn't notify everyone. By the time mine failed Samsung would not have it repaired. I called Bjorns, asked if the could repair it after describing the problem. The technician knew what it was and ordered the part, which took too long for me to be without my TV. I suggested in the future they offer expedited shipping at customer expense in they're a TV fanatic like me. Tech called and said the part had arrived and he could come out between 11-1 today, which I agreed. Tech, Martin, was very knowledgeable and professional, even brought a work table and pad to set the TV on while he worked. He swapped the old power board for the new and we are back in TV land.

The customer service was astounding. Not only did the kind man in service help us but every other employee, salesmen and manager looked through the entire building for the power cord we needed. They all went above and beyond for a cord they gave us at no charge. This is the customer service that is lacking in most businesses today. At Bjorn's the customer truly is important. I can't thank them all enough. It had been a long, hard day of moving, packing and unpacking and three retail businesses with no luck finding the power cord we needed. They turned a terrible day into a great one! What a great team and genuinely kind and caring people. You guys are the best!!!!!
Description of Work: We were looking for a power cord for a Samsung TV. It was misplaced during my daughters move. We had been to 3 different places to try to find one. The man in the service department was amazing. Although they didn't have any in stock, he searched every drawer in the entire place to find one for us.

Bjorns did a site survey back in June 2013 but I thought price was too high. They emailed a 1/2 labor price sale on custom installations and I asked if they wanted to re-bid the job. Ronnie Canedo gave me a new price, and said though the sale was to apply to new equipment installations, they would honor the discount on this job. The original Site survey was $108, which would apply to the job if done. The re-bid would cost $250.00 additional, so we agreed to do it. Andrew and Ronnie arrived right on time, and worked 3 hours on the room and attic installation and did a really professional job. They were very knowledgeable and knew their business, very neat, and cleaned up thoroughly. Very impressive. I've been to Bjorns several times over long years for TV's, stereo equipment, and repairs, and have always been satisfied. I don't even bother to go anywhere else.
Description of Work: Rewired speaker cables from TV-audio up wall into attic and strung cables to 2 front and 2 rear speakers, and moved TV and internet and phone cables to new outlet behind TV-audio cabinet.

The technician called before coming, arrived on time and promptly covered his shoes at the door before entering our home. He brought a large, folding table that he was able to work on safely without damaging the tv's screen. He was very organized and immediately located the problem and repaired it with the parts he'd brought. We will most definitely call Bjorn's for all future needs.
Description of Work: Our 54" Samsung was having start-up problems. After describing the problem over the phone, a technician was sent out. He brought the necessary part(s) and was able to make the repair in a short time.

Call company to inquire about problems with large DLP TV. Explained the issues to them and they had me try a few things. TV issues were diagnosed and I was provided a quote to repair. Repair parts are fairly expensive but they were competitive with others I had parts quoted through. I have not decided whether or not to fix TV yet.

They were awesome. They were prompt, timely and professional. The services were exactly what they said they would be. I have been loving and enjoying all the audio-video in the house. It was expensive. They know the products. They were fully educated on the products and services they provide and their capability. They advise accordingly what's the best manner to get things installed. They didn't pressure me to add things which would have benefited them, so I appreciated that. They advised the best way to help control cost. Their professionalism, their customer service and their knowledge of the products was top notch.
Description of Work: Bjorn's Audio Video installed all the audio and video in my house. They installed televisions, television monitors and a stereo system. They did the networking. They provided some equipment like outdoor television. They also wired outside.

Bjorn's Audio Video were quite expensive. They overlooked that fact that they owed me USD 1,500. I had a man who worked for them and he went and checked their book keeping and brought it to their attention and then they let him go. I could have done buying it all from best buy. It was a big job as they had to make holes in the wall to put the wires. They are very pricey and other than that, they did a very good job. They did a very professional job. I wouldn't use them again because I could have gotten it cheaper else where.
Description of Work: Bjorn's Audio Video wired my home for sound in the walls. I bought all the equipment from the as well. I bought stereo equipment and flat screen tv and they installed it for me and programmed for me.

I was left in a lurch by a TV repairman from another company I thought I could trust. He gave me a diagnosis but failed to follow through with the needed repair . I was left with a Sony TV that required a cooling fan to operate. I called Bjorn's and they assigned Martin to the repair. We made an appointment and he had the necessary part on his truck. I had been TVless for over a week due to the bad experience and delays with the other tech. Martin had me up and running in less than an hour which included proper reconnection of my components disconnected willy nilly by the other tech. I was extremely pleased with Martin's knowledge, courtesy, promptness and professionalism. Bjorn's is a bit pricey but stands behind its work and you can rely on the company. I have found, through experience, that there is a premium for solid, reliable and competent service in today's world.

Totally pleased that everything worked out and would hire this firm again
Description of Work: Technician had to replace two items that were damaged. First it was the color wheel and then had to order a part called a light tunnel that was damaged when the color wheel shattered. I called on May 16th and described the problem with my Samsung rear projection television and the technician called me a couple of hours later to schedule a time to come out to my home. He arrived as promised and had only the one part (color wheel) with him. It was discovered upon working on the unit that the light tunnel was damaged and he didn't have my model with him. He ordered and stated that it would take 6 to 10 business days to complete. I received a call on May 22nd that the part was shipped. Over the holiday weekend I didn't hear from them and called the technician direct on May 30th and he said the part was actually shipped on May 26th but there was no tracking number via UPS. I then emailed the company on May 31st stating that I was displeased that the part was shipped without a tracking number and told when it comes in I would get a call. Who knows when the part would come in? Anyhow the next morning I received a call from the service department stating they had ordered a part from a different distributor and requested overnight mail for the part. They were truly sorry that the first place they ordered it from didn't perform and that they would get the part on Monday and have the technician out immediately. As it turned out I received a call within an hour that the original distributor did send the part and it came in. Within two hours the technician came out and repaired my set. The technician brought a table to place my TV on and drop cloth to ensure my wood floors didn't get scratched, and within two hours I was up and running again.

We had purchased a television before from them and had it serviced through them, but there were difficulties with the manufacturer in getting parts so they worked with us and gave us all of our service money back towards the new TV and we got a full warranty with that.

Technician called me back within the hour and did diagnostics over the phone, and gave me an estimate. scheduled appointment for the next day. Called to ask if he could come a little early. promptly and efficiently performed the service, and even vaccuumed behind the tv set when he was done. was able to bill credit card from smart phone, and emailed receipt which i accessed before he left. final price was acutally lower than estimate. Technician was very polite and professional.

They are not the cheapest in town but they stand behind their products and services 100%. Whenever I have a question, I can always get a knowledgeable staff member to answer my questions. They come to my home to install and service my equipment. I have purchased multiple TV's and DVD's for the last 3 decades. They specialize in installation of theaters. I don't shop anywhere else. I give them my complete loyalty. Even though I have been a customer for 30 years, the staff changes, so I know I am not treated differently than any other customer. They have a great reputation.

Description of Work: Our 65" DLP TV Picture stopped working. I've replaced the lamp previously on my own, but something had caused the lamp to go out .I called Bjorns service dept. They sent a certified Tech to my home whom diagnosed the problem. He had to order the part but he explained what had gone bad and what it did . There was no payment until the repair was complete.When the part came in they came and installed it the next day. Service was prompt ,professional,priced right for my budget. Would recommend them all who need TV repair .

It continued to have a problem that they were unable to repair. I think they charged us a fee to come out here even though they accomplished nothing. Their repair people were friendly, but not as knowledgeable as they should’ve been. They had been unable to repair a particular television even though we had bought it from them. They had charged us for each repair session too. It had worked temporarily and then it again stopped working. This happened at least three or four times.
Description of Work: We used Bjorn's to fix a television that we had bought from them.
