Do not use this company for service or installation of your HVAC system. In San Antonio, use ANY OTHER company, there are plenty of much better options out there. Beyer Boys is a complete rip off! Simple repairs = astronomical costs!, company and technicians only interested in raking in $, and promoting annual service plan. Technician disingenuous. Customer service very slow to respond in answering questions about billing. This job was for a simple solenoid failure on the AC unit with a total cost of over $900! The basic 50mf/ 440v solenoid replacement cost $318. Also replaced were the hard start saver $317. and a “2 pole electric connector” at $291. Later after we finally got the itemized receipt (which required several calls to the company before any receipt was emailed), I looked up the cost of these parts. (to buy OEM parts for this unit, they would be less than $30, $135, and $15 respectively). I don't think the technician took enough time to explain the issue with the HVAC unit that needed repair. I think that he replaced more components than were needed to solve the problem. I also felt he was more interested in trying to sell me an annual maintenance plan than addressing the service issue at hand. He kept trying to sell me the annual maintenance plan. After he was working on the unit I asked him if the solenoid replacement alone would have fixed the unit and he said yes, but then also encouraged me to have the maintenance plan. He hinted again that we should have the annual maintenance plan, in saying that the coolant level was low “so the system might not cool as well as expected” That is actually not an issue at all with our HVAC. After the bill of $916.80 was paid for this very basic problem, which took less than one hour for the technician to fix, we never received a bill in the email. I had to call the company to request a bill. They finally emailed the bill, but it was not itemized at all, it just listed the items repaired and the total charge. I called again and requested that they please send me an itemized bill, including the parts cost and labor costs. This time I received an email with the costs as I stated above, but again no separation of parts and labor costs. I called again and asked to get the full b breakdown, but still have not heard back from them. The technicians behavior, the exorbitant charge, the failure to promptly send a receipt, and then once a receipt was received, the additional phone calls to get an itemized receipt, and also to request a breakdown parts vs. labor all makes this feel like a RIP OFF SCAM. If the exorbitantly high cost was the result of some sort of emergency labor fee or something like that I would understand that, BUT BECAUSE OF THE LACK OF TRANSPARANCY, I am left with the impression that this is a serious rip off, and deception in business practice. The behavior of the technician also made the service call feel deceptive, because of the focus on promoting the annual service plan. PICK ANOTHER HVAC SEFVICE COMPANY, there are plenty of options out there.

I bought an older home with a 25 year old leaky, rusty AC where the previous owners paid $250-$400 per month for electricity! I thoroughly researched the most energy efficient systems and decided on a solar-ready Lennox Signature unit. Lennox is not installed by all companies. The highest rated Lennox installer was Beyer Mechanical. I got a quote the day after I closed on the house and they installed the next day! Super professional installation and great customer service. They monitor the function remotely and have already called to double check that the wiring of the old house is sufficient. I applied for an energy audit with CPS, the gas/electric company and the inspector was very impressed with the Lennox system, installation and function. No solar panels yet, but they're on my list...

I contacted the Beyer Boys, on Sept. 6th. I had a badly leaking faucet in my bathroom. I contacted two other highly rated (Angie's List) plumbers. The Beyer Boys sent out a team within a few hours. They stopped the leak and since I did not have a replacement faucet I told them that they could come back the following week and I would have the faucet and time to have the job finished. They came back on Sept. 10 as scheduled. They completed the job, replaced and installed the faucet in a very short time at half the cost another highly rated plumber quoted me. The Beyer Boys, were great, came as scheduled very professional. Anyone wanting plumbing work, they, as far as I'm concerned are the best and I highly recommend them.

My first story Lennox A/C system (3.5-ton evaporator coil + 3-ton A/C) was struggling to say the least during these past few very hot summer days. Since I am aware that these Lennox coils were having corrosion issues within 5 years or so due to being a mix of aluminum and copper, I knew that a refrigerant leak on the evaporator coil was probably the culprit. I contacted a few companies through Angie's List who had availability to come quick (on Monday) and inspect my system. As I thought, I was told that the system had essentially no refrigerant, and that the likely culprit was the evaporator coil. I didn't need more evidence as I knew this was the more likely scenario. This company wanted me to go with a 4-ton Carrier evaporator coil, which I felt was too big for a 3-ton Lennox AC, plus it was a different brand, which I wasn't too willing to consider. I then decided to contact other companies that same day at about 2 PM, one of them being Beyer Boys A/C. I know that they are a big company, so I wasn't expecting they had any availability to help me soon, but since they are a Lennox certified dealer, I decided to give them a try. To my surprise, Marcía, the Beyer Boys rep I spoke with, gave me the option of sending a technician to provide a second opinion or, if I was sure it was the evaporator coil, to then have a Sales representative or "Comfort Advisor" at my house within 30 to 45 minutes to provide a repair estimate! Wow! I quickly accepted and the proceeded to contact 2 other smaller A/C companies with great reviews in Angie's List. Mr. Tim Megason, the "Comfort Advisor" from Beyer Boys A/C showed up on time and was very courteous, reasonable, and professional. He inspected my system and quickly built up a proposal with a Better and Best options for me to consider. The Better option was a non-Lennox coil, hence cheaper. The Best option was the coil I was considering as a replacement, which was the Lennox all aluminum coil. The proposal clearly listed the model of the coil being installed, what other parts were being included, like the pan in this case, the warranty, and permits if required. Mr. Megason sent me the proposal via email for me to consider. It could be filled and signed online, which made the process more customer friendly with no pressure to quickly sign an agreement. I appreciated that. Best part was that Mr. Megason informed me that if I made a decision that day by COB, they could install the new coil that very next morning and start work between 8 and 9 AM!! Wow! Making the story about pricing short, two of the other smaller companies quoted me significantly higher than Beyer Boys, with installation dates at least 3 days away. The original company that inspected my A/C did not reply to me when I asked for an estimate on a Lennox coil and not a Carrier. Their Carrier estimate was lower than Beyer Boys' estimate; however, that was an option I would not consider. Mr. Megason put forth a very reasonable and competitive offer compared to the other offers I received. At this point, I was pleasantly surprised with Beyer Boys in how quickly they had somebody at my home to provide an estimate, plus the professionalism, courteousness, and reasonableness of both Mr. Megason at my house and Marcía on the phone. The electronic proposal was a great touch, too. Of course, I agreed to do the work with Beyer Boys and signed the proposal online. I was told by Mr. Megason that they would be at my home to replace the leaking coil between 8 and 9 AM the next day Tuesday. At 8:11 AM, I received a call from their technician Daryl saying that they were on their way and would be at my home in about half an hour. At about 8:45 AM they arrived at my home on a Beyer Boys truck ready to go. Both Daryl and the other technician that came in were uniformed, courteous, and professionals. They allowed me to see the box of the new Lennox coil they brought to install and to see it was the same model I was promised. They took extreme care to use shoe covers to not dirty my floors and carpets. Daryl even laid down a red plastic cover over the carpet to protect the area where they would be frequently coming in and out of the attic while repairing my A/C system. They took great care of keeping my house and the area clean! That is absolutely a big PLUS. They started at about 9 AM and kept working until completing the work at about 1:45 or so...so it was a very difficult 5 hours of work considering the scorching temperatures in the attic. Removing the old coil was a real pain to say the least. However, Daryl and his assistant worked very carefully to keep the integrity of the system. There was a metal pipe that was attached to an exhaust from the furnace which was right in front of the coil and needed to be removed. Daryl tried his best not to damage it, but it wasn't budging, so he cut it and removed it. I was wondering if Daryl was planning on using the same broken piece of exhaust when done, but no. As soon as the new coil was in place and installed, Daryl went to their truck and came back not only with that small piece of metal pipe he had to break to do the job, he brought enough parts to essentially IMPROVE the pipe that was already in place. He replaced a good 3 parts from the original pipe and made it better and more sturdy, all for no additional charge! On that same note, the original installers of they A/C system had attached the drain pan to the coil case itself, which Daryl explained could cause the pan to bend in the middle and the water to not flow properly. So, Daryl and his assistant went out to their Beyer Boys vehicle and pulled a bunch of wood pieces (4x4s and other wood) and custom built a wooden base for the new drain pan, so that it could rest on it and not hang from the case. FANTASTIC! Again, no additional charge! After the replacement job was done, both techs went out to check the vacuum on the system and it was perfectly sealed, which means that it was in fact the coil. The old coil that was removed was clean, but super rusty on the sides, showing clear evidence of a leak. They then refilled the system with virgin refrigerant and voila!...nice and cold air started flowing from my A/C vents once again! As soon as Daryl felt satisfied with the results, they proceeded to remove their tools and clean the area. Daryl went and started removing the red plastic cover over my carpet near the attic while picking every small piece of debris from the floor. The left the area and property as clean if not cleaner than what they found it, all while being incredible professionals, being courteous, and answering multiple questions I had with no issues whatsoever. Job was done right, as scheduled on time, with a level of professionalism that I have never seen and that I am sure is difficult to match. I cannot be more satisfied and, believe me, I am not easily satisfied at this level as I am very detail oriented. I have no complaints with Beyer Boys A/C and will certainly consider them for all my future needs, including maintenance. Thank you!

Very quick to respond and organize with client calls. Unfortunately, first person did not fix the issues of the coils being clogged, and sent someone out a day later to address the leaking from the drip pan. Within hours the unit stopped cooling all together. Of course, the third service person said one did have to do with the other. System was cooling prior to the first service call. Holding a client hostage for a more expensive service repair. Fixing the unit without confirmation on the fees from the owner. I got hijacked to fix something this company most likely broke. Don't let these service people out of your site when touching your HVAC. A small issue turn into a 430.00 expense. It's criminal.

Alex found the leak immediately and fixed it promptly ($450). He made referral to water mitigation service for assistance with clean-up. Subsequently, an additional minor leak was found under the sink which prompted a second visit by Ronnie who repaired leak ($380). Third leak occurred and Ronnie returned and repaired additional leaks. Due to high water pressure consistently across the three visits, recommended and installed pressure reducing valve ($500). No further leaks have occurred since. Workers were friendly and competent.

Job was quick and simple. Initial call was for a tech to come look at a potential mold issue HVAC ducts. The first tech was nice, pleasant, but not very thorough (he didn't both opening up the main unit and failed to notice mold on the outside of the secondary unit... cost: $89.00 for the call. I called a few days later for a second look: This technician was more thorough, but we still got charged another $89.00 though he advised calling the office to ask for a credit back. Based on the second tech's visit, we opted to go with installing a Reme UV light in the air supply duct. Discussing this install with the main office, management easily agreed to credit us the cost of the two service call as part of the UV light install. The service tech was on-time, worked very efficiently, did a courtesy look at our new duct work and shared his professional observations... all in all, a very professional job. The cost for this UV Light and the install was high, though. They retail for +/- $450, and the install was pretty simple and fast. The original quote was for $1,300, later discounted by the credit for the previous service calls. Recommendation: Though mold in nothing to ignore, if your attic HVAC system is easy to access, buy your own UV light and watch a YouTube video to see how to install it... save yourself about 50-70%.

He fixed the kitchen sink sprayer at the cost of $130 and he looked in one toilet tank about ghost flushing. The plumber said the standing water was too high and the fill valve needed to be replaced at the cost of $175. I googled the valve and it costs $7.98 at Home Depot. So I repaired it myself by looking at youtubes. It worked and I saved $$. I don't like the jacked up price on so simple an item.

Was charged for a visit and Freon, only to be told “the system needs to be replaced.” So... $414 later, still a broken AC unit... I believe a customer should be told the cost of evaluation before work is performed and, in this case, the likelihood of success. Otherwise, an informed decision regarding how to spend the money cannot be made....

For a number of years, I have employed the Beyer Boys to perform semiannual preventive maintenance inspections of heating and air conditioning units. Additionally, in January 2016 I purchased and had them install a 5-ton furnace. In May 2017, I hired their plumbing division to install a toilet. For the most part services were satisfactorily rendered. I had one instance where shortly after their preventive maintenance my heating system stopped working. They responded quickly and determined that their serviceman who had performed the preventive maintenance had not put parts back together correctly. Since they were the ones who had caused the problem, there was no charge. I was pleased that they took responsibility for the problem since I would have been none the wiser had they not done so. Unfortunately, on Friday, December 15, 2017, I had a totally unacceptable experience during the semiannual preventive maintenance inspection. The serviceman approached my wife, who had had no dealings with him, and asked her to “sign off” that she had been informed that he was shutting off the gas. My wife declined to sign without first telling me about this request. Upon inquiry, the serviceman explained to me that new regulations prompted by some fires prohibit boxes from being stacked near furnaces; we had boxes stacked between the two furnaces. The serviceman did NOT give us option to move the boxes! His first instinct for “customer service” for preventive maintenance was to shut off the gas. We had to ask permission to move the boxes to avoid shutdown of gas. As we took less than a minute to move several boxes, the serviceman stood by and watched us. At 10 a.m., upon the serviceman’s departure, I called the Beyer Boys to speak to the service manager. The service manager not in, so reception promised to email him to contact me re service complaint. Not hearing back from the service manager, I called again 5 hours later at 3 p.m. I was told he was gone for the day. When I said I need to terminate the service contract, reception offered to contact him and have him call me back. The service manager thereupon called me back right away. He was defensive and kept insisting that serviceman is required to shut off gas for safety. I explained that I agreed with the safety measure, but I should have FIRST be given option to move boxes. The service manager kept questioning my commitment to safety. He said he’d talk to the serviceman and instruct him IF what I said had happened. When I said I would terminate service contract, he told me to go ahead and do so. I then called reception again to terminate service contract. After explaining to reception what had happened, reception said she’d have a senior person call me on Monday, December 18th. As of 4 p.m. that Monday, the senior person still had not called me, so I called once again to terminate the service contract. Reception said he was not in, but she’d contact him to call me. He thereupon called right away and was very receptive to my concerns in all respects. He also said that he would bring all this to the attention of PAT BEYER who is in charge of this division. I said that unless I was credited for the service call, I would terminate and engage instead a different company that had been recommended to me. He agreed and reception called me right back to confirm. This should have been a satisfactory conclusion. Unfortunately, when it was time for the next preventive maintenance inspection on May 1, 2018, the very SAME serviceman came to my house. He acted as though he had never been there before, as though nothing had happened before. I believe it was poor judgment to send the SAME serviceman, especially in the absence of any apology from him. And so, in November 2018, I did indeed terminate the services of Beyer Boys and hired a different company, at lesser cost, at that.

I purchased the Silver Plan and was told would not be charged a service call fee for any issue. I called them and was told again no fee would be charged. Unfortunately, i was charged $146 and change for diagnostic. When i spoke to the service manager, I was told I was not charged the $89 service fee but would have to pay the $146 diagnostic. Sorry but this does not make any sense. So i guess the $89 is for driving up to my home and $146 to figure out whats wrong. Does this make any sense? In addition, the estimate to replace my HVAC motor was $1400 and they refused to tell me how much was parts and what was labor. I refused service. I contacted another company who is licensed and bonded and was charged a total of $850 for the exact same service.

Great but the thing broke down fatally soon after. BEyer Boys quote was substantially higher than others so we bought new units from someone else.

wonderful. They showed up on time and they were very professional. Chris even made suggestions to ensure we didn't have future problems that could cause a leak in our laundry room. when he was stuck in traffic he even called ahead and ask for pictures of the water heater so he could pick a replacement up from the supplier before it closed to ensure we did not go another night without hot water. we have used this company on several occasions and they always meet my expectations and perform high-quality work. I would absolutely use them again and recommend them to anyone.
