Benrell Services (Ruben De Liano)

I was contacted very quickly after signing up for Angie's list by Ruben De Liano of Benrell Services. He said he could have someone at my house the next day to do the job. A man named Eric shows up with two day laborers. They look at the job and provide me a quote of $1700 and I agreed. They asked for $500 up front for materials, so I took that out of the ATM and provided it. They built the new fence in one day and asked for the remaining $1200 in cash, which I could not pull more from the ATM in the same day. Ruben told me over the phone to send a $1200 check to this business partner, Carl Greiner. I mailed the check and it cleared. The problem is that Eric LEFT the old fence wood and concrete stacked up next to my house which now has attracted rats and bugs. Both Eric and Ruben promised to come back and haul away the old fence. They also installed an incorrect latch and both me and my son have been locked in the backyard as it's a ONE WAY latch. They have promised MANY times via text message to come back out and finish the job, making a multitude of excuses. First, Eric complained that Ruben had not paid him, then Ruben complained that Eric should just finish the job, then Ruben told me he would finish the job himself and has since STOPPED responding to any text messages or phone calls and I've left MANY. This is a total scam. I paid $1700 to get scammed by someone who called me from your list. I have ALL of the text message evidence to prove the manipulation I've received from these men who have scammed me from Angie's List. Also, he cut additional corners by only putting two nails in each board and not cementing the posts! Complete hack job.
