He returned all doors except for one. I’ve contacted him every 2-3 weeks for the past year and got several excuses such as he has the door in his shop, he lost it, he’s been so busy, he’s been sick to finally he will make me a new door. He asked for the measurements which I sent him. He said he would bring it over in a few days which he never did. Now doesn’t answer my phone calls.

Absolute disaster. After 6 months the bathroom is not finished—no countertop, cabinets, fixtures or glass shower door have not been purchased or finished. No supervision and poor quality of work. Many things needed redoing. Owner promises everything and produces very little. Cannot believe anything he says. Have had no accounting of money spent on this project. Kept asking for advances.

Terrible. Contractor would keep delaying appointments - would not show up on time. After we paid in full up front, they removed existing cabinetry at first appointment, leaving bathroom unusable. Eventual new cabinets did not fit, and they were going to have to be rebuilt. Meanwhile, the two men doing the crown molding work did a very terrible job - joints were not flush and it looked worse than before they started. By this time, we had seen enough, and since they had not yet started on the cabinet remake, we opted to cancel the contract and find an actual professional cabinetmaker. Bath by Design owner refused to refund the full amount for the bathroom cabinet work. Told us to complain to BBB. We have tried to get refund for well over a year now, but to no avail. Avoid this company at all costs!

Horrible. Crown molding installed by two men who had no idea how to cut and install crown molding. Had to redo it but final product still looks very bad and no amount of sanding and caulk/putty can make it look acceptable. Company never showed up when they said they would - always an excuse for delay. When cabinets were finally delivered much later than promised, they were not built to the correct size, so we could not use them. Father-in-law had paid in advance and company only refunded half the cabinet cost. Avoid this company at all costs and find a professional cabinet maker. A pretty ad in one of those fake home decorator magazines that comes in the mail does not prove that the company is capable of doing the work...

I contacted Marcus at Bath by Design and explained the work I was considering having done. We scheduled an appointment for the next week for him to come to the house and give me an estimate. The morning of the appointment he called me and said he was doing some work for a friend and could not make it out that day. I switched days at work with a coworker and was able to schedule him out the following day. That day came and went and Marcus did not show up or call to cancel. I got a text the next day from Marcus stating that he had been in a car accident and apologized for not making the appt. He asked me to send him pictures of the work I needed done and he would send me a bid and would give me a discount for the inconvenience. I sent him pictures and a detailed list of the work I was wanting done. He texted me back at 11:48 pm with the amount he would charge me to do the job. He stated if that amount was in my "ballpark" to let him know. I texted back the next day asking him to email a formal written estimate. He said he would. I then got a text the next day stating that he was swamped with work and would not be able to get to my bathroom until next month. He said he hadn't had time to "officially " write anything up and after taking a second look at the job, he couldn't do it for the price he stated just two days ago. I called him and stated I understood if he couldn't get to the job right away but asked if he would send me the estimate anyway for insurance purposes. He stated it wasn't worth his time to write up an estimate for a job that he might or might not get. When I stated my displeasure at how difficult it was just to get an estimate, he accused me of trying to use his estimate to defraud my insurance company. All I asked for was an honest estimate for the work I needed done. Isn't the company suppose to give you an estimate so you can decide who to hire? I feel that Marcus was the one who was being dishonest and I have lost total faith in Bath by Design. I'm glad this happened before I hired them. I think I really dodged a bullet.

We have no complaints with the installation of our new frameless shower door. He also installed 2 towel bars for us. He arrived promptly and on time when we initially called for an estimate. The installation was in the time frame promised. The actual installation took very little time to do. Left the bathroom clean. He was a pleasure to do business with.
