Derick Arredondo came to our home and reviewed our foundation's condition. He recommended installing four piers at the rear of our home. We agreed and made an appointment to have the work done. The crew arrived on time, worked tirelessly and finished the job in just a half day. They were the most polite, and the most professional workers who have ever come to our home! Its hard to praise them enough. We certainly feel like we got our money's worth from the Arredondo Group. We highly recommend this company for anyone having foundation issues.
Description of Work: home foundation had shifted over the years, mainly due to our soil conditions. we experienced a tornado in february 2017, causing a large tree to fall on our home, causing even more damage to the slab and interior walls. arredondo group was recommended to me for foundation repair.

It is important to note that many of the foundations company use subcontractors for everything. And since, the subcontractor is paid by the job, his objective is to get you to sign off on everything as soon as possible. For the company that I used they, there was a big disconnect between the salesman who bid the job, the subcontractors, and management of the foundation company ? they overpromised and underperformed. It would have been a great help to have management onsite when the job was done and certainly when the house was leveled. I got all the bad parts of foundation work (cracked sheetrock, cracked inside and outside tile, dead plants and two months of mud), and none of the good (a reasonably level floor). If you are doing foundation work ask a lot of questions about who is really charge. Give Earnie a shout. He stands by his work.
Description of Work: Earnie gave me an estimate on my house. I chose another contractor because they were cheaper and I regretted it. Earnie made a point to say that he is onsite when the house is leveled. That is extremely important.

Description of Work: They leveled two places in a home we're remodeling. The floors feel very secure now. They did a good job of replacing the dirt and leaving things as clean as they could. This only happened two days ago, however, so I don't know what it will be like in 6 months. Am pleased now though.

This company was hired to fix a foundation problem three years ago. One year later when my front porch was sinking I called them and they lifted the porch. Little did I know that with every movement of the foundation the pipes in the foundation break, and their lifetime warranty was a joke. "Any leaking pipes make this warranty null and void." Putting the warranty in lay mans' terms. "So if the foundation repair is not successful and the foundation moves again and breaks the pipes under the house our company is not responsible". This company had one last chance to fix the problem.( That doesn't include the $9000.00 to fix the sewer pipes that are broken.) The Arrandondo office called and said they couldn't come on October 15, as scheduled as they were working on a historic home. My calls to their office have been unanswered as of now. This new problem was first reported back in June to the Arrondo group. I can't close my front door and the plumber says my waste is going into the ground from broken sewer pipes. My home which is taxed at over $100,00 has little value.
Description of Work: They called and said they had more important work to do.

My client(buyer) was concerned that a home he had inspected needed foundation repair. Based on a referral from a friend, we called Arredondo to schedule an on-siter determination of whether or not repairs were needed, and if so, the cost. Their ability to visit the home rather promptly(next day-Friday 5/18/13) was a relief. Their ability to gain access with their own SUPRA key was convenient. Stephanie(receptionist) was very sure to let me know, more than once, that if no repairs were needed then we would need to pay $299 for an engineer to sign off on an official report stating such findings. Initially I let Stephanie know I was not certain that I would be able to be present for their visit, that they would likely need to use the SUPRA CBS code to gain access. I provided her the CBS code at noon the day of the appt, and at that time Stephanie asked me if I would be able to open the door. I let her know that it was not likely that I would be able to make it. She said she would call me when they were 30 minutes from arriving. She did call me, and I again advised her I would not be able to make it. At that time, her attitude changed and she sounded very annoyed with me. She said that this meant her guys would have to drive all the way back to the office to get their SUPRA CBS key. I reminded her that I had let her know the day before that they would need it. She remained very short with me. I didn't hear back from the company. Tuesday, 5/21/13, I called asking what the findings were. She said her guys were working on an estimate(meaning necessary repairs) and I should receive it by email, oh, and what was my email by the way(?). My client already had felt like 'if you ask a dog if they're hungry, they will always say yes', and that no matter the truth, Arredondo would say repairs were needed. He opted to pay to have an independent, unbiased Structural Engineer from a very reputable company evaluate the foundation, much like Stephanie said they would charge $299 for. The findings were completely opposite. Arredondo sent an esitmate for 19 piers & work costing over $10,000, but never indicated where those piers were needed or why, or what the elevation measurements were. The un-biased structural engineer found that the home has very minimal, but natural & NORMAL movement and did not require ANY repairs. I was hesitant to ask the Arredondo Group to come out in the first place, and I will always trust my instincts on this matter in the future. Based on the attitude I received from Stephanie, and the dishonesty of the company as a whole, I will NEVER recommend this company to ANY of my clients, and would convince them otherwise.

We have about 1200 square feet and it was $2.25 per square feet. Overall, we were happy with them but there was one little mix up that happened. As far as the final work went, they were excellent. However, they brought two cement trucks that got mixed up and they brought the wrong cement and poured the wrong cement. So we didn’t get the upgraded concrete in one portion of the yard that we were supposed to because the concrete trucks went to the wrong place. They did take off the amount that we paid for the upgraded concrete and didn’t charge us as much because we didn’t get what we paid for. They were great with coming and doing the work when they were supposed to. The quality of the work was good but this little mix up sours the whole experience, but overall it was good. I do think that they should have checked to make sure that we got the upgraded concrete.
Description of Work: I used Arredondo Group to pour concrete in our driveway. They extended our driveway. We had a path behind our gate and the sidewalk through our backyard that was separated into the barbeque area and the basketball court.

This company actually responded to our request, made an appointment and showed up promptly. The inspector called before he came, was on time and was professional and polite. He did a complete foundation inspection, telling us he would give us a report later. The report came within two days. The problem was with his report. It gave no details of his findings. It simply stated that our foundation needed so many piers and it would cost around $9000. There also was a video showing how piers were installed. Since I had received more detailed reports from other foundation inspectors, including detailed diagrams and measurement of the slant of the slab, I asked for a more detailed report. I simply got an email reply from the Arredondo office stating they did not give out this inspection information. More or less, it was, "Take it or leave it." (Actually, I phoned the office later requesting more details. They said they would send me some report details which they never did.) I had two other foundation companies do the same foundation inspection, GL Hunt and All Pro Foundation. GL Hunt came the week before, and All Pro came the week after. Both companies did the same inspection and gave me a report. GL Hunt said I had very little slant or other significant problems and simply recommended I have a repeat foundation inspection in the future if I had any more concerns. All Pro did the best job, he really got down into detail and told us the house already had piers and needed nothing at this time. (We bought the house several years ago and had no history of this.) He said the drive way did not have piers and we could have that done for about $2000, but he did not recommend it unless it got worse. (Very small crack.) Maybe the message is to always get three inspections and compare. Who knows, maybe Arredondo was right after all, but without any details, you cannot be sure...
Description of Work: This was a free foundation inspection of a home in San Antonio approximately 40 years old. All foundation repair companies offer free foundation inspections, however, the lesson learned here is to always get at least 3 inspections from highly rated companies. The company will typically make a phone appointment, show up at the appointment hour and check the house foundation, both outside and then inside evaluation cracks in the walls and floors and the slant of the slab foundation. This inspection typically takes about one hour. Several days later they will give you a report by phone, email or another visit.

Very well and I would definitely contact them again if we need help after this test is done!
Description of Work: Contacted Arredondo Group after searching the web for foundation engineers that I could consult regarding possible slab issues. I spoke directly with Ms. Carrie Arredondo and told her our situation, which is basically, I am not sure if we have a problem or not regarding a large live oak tree veryclose to our house. I am essentially being told by contractors I have called out to look at the problems that there is no certainty by them either that there's a problem. I explained that the general conditions are that the tree has grown in the last 10 years and is now touching the fascia. Our dilemma is to notch the soffit and fascia or remove the tree which is a complicated, expensive removal because of its size and conditions nearby. I have had several arborists out and all have said that as far as the tree goes, it is healthy and not likely to move on its own. One contractor strongly recommends removal as the gas and electric lines into the house are close to the tree but I had CPS come out and they marked all the lines as well as tested and stated that they can't tell underground but the lines are inside galvanized steel pipes and they can see no compromise at this time. Ms. Arredondo said they would be happy to come out but the tree roots will go where there is water (just as all the arborists said) and unless there are leaks beneath the slab, there is not likely an issue as we see no other signs whatsoever of foundation compromise like cracks inside or outside, etc etc. She recommended I have a Static Line Test to determine if we had any leaks and then we should go from there, and the test is about $150.00, which we are doing tomorrow. Ms. Arredondo was well spoken, not in a hurry to take my money, and provided basic information after asking several questions and answering several of mine, so that we can proceed before spending thousands to remove this tree that may not need to be removed whatsoever. It is about 75 yrs old and for the past 40 years since the house has been here, it has coexisted nicely!

I am still waiting for a response, but have gone with another company
Description of Work: I received an estimate from this company and planned to have them do the work; however, their customer service was extremely poor. They failed to provide me with the drawing where they would put the piers until 4 days after I requested them - even when I told the lady I planned to make a decision on the day I requested the drawing! When I got the drawing by email, I responded the same day and requested the salesman contact me - I am still waiting. The emails I received came with a header from a Realtor office by the same name and I felt my business of foundation work was secondary to them and unimportant.

Arredondo was responsive in scheduling the estimate. They arrived on time, took elevation measurements of the front of the house, and provided a written estimate with some basic illustrations. Initially, I wanted to limit the work to the front of the house. Later, I decided that one of the sides of the house also seemed like it was not level, so I called them back. They returned at the time that we scheduled, and provided a revised estimate. They provided alternate options in the estimates if I wanted to pursue a cheaper approach. On the day scheduled for the work, the crew did not show up. I called the office, and they told me that they were behind due to rain delaying their completion of other jobs. We re-scheduled, and this time they showed up on time. The crew did the work in one day. The foreman was on-site for about a fourth of the time. Clean-up was OK - there were a few patches of crumbled concrete in my yard. Overall, I am happy with their job.
Description of Work: They repaired my pier and beam foundation by installing 6 poured in place concrete piers and jacking the structure to level using metal shims. They installed 5 block and pad stacks along another wall. They also leveled my carport structure and installed 4 pre-fab concrete footings.

Exceeding my expectations, the whole process took three days was completed professionally and with minimal discomfort as we lived in the home during the process. Highly recommend Mr. Ernie Arrendondo and his company.
Description of Work: Initial inspection revealed one corner of the house over four inches below level. The estimate was professionally prepared and printed. The exact specifications for work to be done were outlined as well as what to expect. The foundation leveling consisted of digging holes around the exterior of the home's slab and then tunneling under about three feet (exception of one 20 foot tunnel to center of house). Concrete pilings (38 sets of two pilings) were placed at strategic locations under the foundation where they were pushed hydraulically into the ground until they would not go further. Once the pilings were pushed and stacked under the slab, a capstone topped each piling. With all the pilings in place, hydraulic jacks lifted the foundation at each piling location and slab was leveled. Metal shims were placed on pilings to maintain the level and holes were filled back in. Excess dirt was trucked away.
