We worked with Tony Tamez who was super helpful but put no pressure on us to "upsell" anything. The installers, Johnny and Tony, were courteous, efficient, and totally competent. A great experience all around.
Description of Work: Replace aging central air with new system, and add blow-in insulation to attic.

+ -1 moreWe called the Moos Co for a furnace cleaning for winter. They send out Juan Acuna who cleaned & checked out the unit. We had been concerned about our old a/c heater unit. We asked him how long we had before needing a new one. He was honest with us and told us not to worry. We asked about a replacement. He called Tony Tames. He was over in 30 mins. We were happy with the pricing. Two days later Juan & Estevan put in our new unit. They did great. We are very satisfied.
Description of Work: Change out existing 3 ton gas heat split system (10 seer.) Installed new XR16, seer Trane hi-eff system.

This new trane unit has shaved another $50.00 per month of our electric bill (we also have solar panels so this additional savings is on top of the great solar savings) . The new interactive thermostat lets the company know if there is a problem or an error code. Installation took most of the day and the workers were prompt and courteous. Cant say enough good things about Arnold Moos!

+ -1 moreI usually wait for when I have a list. They are prompt, and they do air conditioning too. Some jobs are more expensive than others. They may be a little high on the price, but I don't call around, so I don't know.
Description of Work: We use Moos for plumbing. They changed some fixtures in the bathroom, they worked on my shower, and they changed some parts on the back of some commodes.

+ 0 moreThere was a lot of work with CPS contractors to access the nature of the system leaks. This lead to a redesign of the system to balance the supply and return air feeds which were totally out of whack, by Jim Moos. A new state of the art Trane high SEER furnace, air-handler and external unit was installed along with duct repair and the installation of a new Mini-Split system that turned a 2 car garage into a storage area and office. There was a complete rip out and replacement of the plumbing in the utility and laundry rooms which had been done without any venting. There were also several repairs to plumbing in the house, and in the garage bay that had been converted into a small apartment. Bottom line, the HVAC works well. I love the Mimi-Split, and we use Arnold Moos for twice a year system maintenance.
Description of Work: We bought a 1957 Mid-Century modern in Castle Hills that required a LOT of plumbing and HVAC work. They fixed all the code violations from the last home owner and replaced the existing HVAC external system, fixed major leaks in the internal duct work, and added new supplies and returns. They also added a Mini-Split System to what was a two car garage and is now storage and office space.

+ -1 moreWe've used Arnold Moos check-up service for as long as we've owned this house (almost ten) years. Something I really like is, we usually always have the same technician(Louie), he knows us and our system. They technicians have always been very professional, careful, and thorough. They never push extra services or add-ons. They give honest opinions about the "health" of our system. When we have had problems, we've never thought they've tried to add-on extras that aren't necessary and the costs associated with repairs is reasonable. When it comes time for a new system we will choose to stay with them.

+ 0 moreReally well! The technician was fast, efficient and got everything fixed. He even found us a cheaper way to keep the unit running more efficiently for the next 2-3 years (our unit is old and should have already quit for good by now).
Description of Work: Our air conditioning went out suddenly, and we needed it fixed ASAP, as it's the unit in our master bedroom. Arnold Moos was able to get somebody out that day to fix it, and for no extra charge!

+ -1 moreI don't remember what the estimate was but I knew it was too high. They quoted me last August for the condenser and it was too high, and they quoted me again. I started calling around in spring time to get the condenser serviced and they were too high on the service as well. Just that they were a little high but not their quality or anything because I can't state as to the quality of work that they do. They were extremely responsive when I called for the thing. If the pricing was right, then I would use them in the future. Um just for clarification, I gave this review over the phone. This company did NOT complete any work at my home. So the response that the company gave was completely incorrect. No one from this company has ever been to my home. I just called to get a quote for spring/fall tune-up on my ac/heating units. They were a bit more expensive than I was willing to spend since there were deals on Angie's website. That was the only statement I made to representative on the phone from Angie's List. I do not have any first hand knowledge of this company's work.
Description of Work: I had called them for references not for references for estimates but that was about it. They did provide an estimate. I think they quoted me twice. It was the annual cleaning for the condensers for the summer for the service.

But that same night we had A/C from our brand new heat pump! They worked extra hard in sweltering heat to install this complex system ahead of schedule to make us comfortable ASAP! The whole team was highly competent, professional and nice to deal with. Site was carefully cleaned and installed system improve the appearance and the value of the house.
Description of Work: Proposed options, removed old system and installed new heat pump one day ahead of schedule! Price was fair and with 0% financing for 18 months.

Description of Work: I have an older house with extremely restricted return air for the A/C system. Arnold Moos came out and added two ceiling returns and a much wider return duct for the inside A/C unit. They also relocated my water heater in preparation for switching to a tankless unit.

+ 0 moreI basically told my whole story above. The gal at Arnold Moos Co. could not have been nicer and the plumber was very good at what he did for us. I'm just not sure the price I paid was what I was expecting to pay.
Description of Work: Our Hot Water Heater went out about 4:30 am Christmas Eve. Called in this order: First - Quarter Moon Plumbing called at 7:00 am. Message stating to call Emergency #. Which I did with no one answering. Second - Bracken Plumbing called at 7:10 am. Message stating to call Emergency #. Which I did and left a message for Alex. Third - North East Air & Plumbing called around 7:20 am. Message stating their hours & emergency #. Forth - Arnold Moos Co. called around 7:30 am. I finally got a live voice that answered and said they could come and install a new water heater around 10:30 am. The lady was very nice and said the plumber was already on a call but would be to us next. She did give me an estimate of what it would cost (between $1000. and $1500) for a 40 gal. electric replacement heater. The plumber was very prompted and installed a new Rheem 40 gal. heater with an expansion tank and new fittings. I'm not sure if the price I paid was good or not. I had not gotten any other estimates because no one else was answering my call. It's usually against my better judgement not to get more estimates before making a decision on such an expensive job. I'm glad I finally joined Angie's list today. Maybe it would have helped on this water heater and a better price.
