I believe that she primarily deals in estate sales. However she did advertise that she takes consignment. I contacted her and sent her pictures of my items and she told me which items she would take. I delivered the items to her gallery. I went back to check. It took a good while for my items to be put out on the floor. Some of them did not have price tags on them. Her floor was so crowded it was impossible to find anything. I spent a good hour looking for my items. I did not hear anything from her for months and months on end. I did check several times and saw that my items were still in the store after looking for a very long time. Almost a year later I get a call from June Hayes telling me that my contract is up and that she did have a check for me for a few items, but most of my items did not sell. She asked me if I wanted her to donate the items or dispose of them in whatever place she felt fit or if I wanted to pick up the unsold items. I told her I would pickup the unsold items. I was told that the unsold items would be at the front of the store clearly marked with my name on them. When I showed up at the door/gallery some of the items were mine, but not all of the items listed with my name on them were my items. For instance, I had two tables with her. She had two tables out that were listed as mine but were not my tables. Her associate was there and was calling her because she was not in the store. Her associate, a male who claimed to be her son, was calling her trying to find out what happened with the items and she did lead him to one of the tables, but the second table was not found. I also had some dishes that were not found. Her response was she could not recall those dishes and we would both need to look at our paperwork that she prepared inventorying the items that I had left for her for consignment. The particular dishes, which happened to be called Polish Pottery was not an itemized list. I think it said several bowls or various items -- it was not a specific inventory. So it was my word against hers as to what she had in her store that was not there for me to pick up she did not have listed as sold. Because they wanted to look for the missing items a check was not given to me for the items already sold. The check was blank and her son did not fill it out since they were trying to resolve the issue. She has not since made any effort to contact me herself or anyone from her gallery. I called her again and she told me that the table was sold and she did ask for my address so that led me to believe she would be issuing me a check. She said she still did not recall those additional Polish pottery items but she would have her assistant comb her inventory for them. I have not heard a word -- no checks, nothing. I used her because someone used her for an estate sale and they were very happy. My criticism is if you advertise that you will take consignment you also have to pay attention to those. I think that her main preoccupation is with the estate sales which, of course, amasses her a better commission. However, since she advertises that she does take consignment and I do have a contract with her, I think she needs to fulfill her end. I need to be paid for what she has sold and I need to be paid for what she cannot locate in her gallery. I should not have to continually contact her and be put off yet again in resolving this matter.
