Hill Country Gutters was recommended by a friend but I also had a subscription to Angie's list so I wanted to check out other vendors. When I looked on Angie's list I saw that Hill Country Gutters was on Angie's list but the company only had 1 review. The review was not positive so my initial thought was not to contact them, but my friend was insistent that the company had did a terrific job for them, so I called for an appointment. I spoke to Marion Johnson who is the owner and he was able to meet with me promptly. He provided me some recommendations about where and why to put the rain barrels in specific locations and other recommendations that made good sense that a previous company had not noticed to mention. He reviewed the various types of leaf screens and the pros and cons to each, he did this much more thoroughly that the previous company that I received an estimate from. I also appreciated him breaking down the price difference for each option. He gave me three types of leaf guards to choose from and provided an installation estimate for each. His highest priced leaf guard and gutter was cheaper than the estimate I had received from 'Top Notch Gutters'. He also recommended to include the metal flashing along the gutter/shingle to preserve the wood of my home and included the leaf guard to a preexisting gutter that we had. All of these inclusions and still cheaper than my other estimate. Marion outlined what would happen the day of installation, provided the names of people on his crew and how long they worked in the business and with him. Overall I felt very confident with Marion and that he would give me a quality product and installation. When I called him to accept his bid, he scheduled with me promptly and his crew showed up on time and ready to work. They were done in 4 hours. Marion inspected the crew's work and walked the property then got a leaf blower and went back over the work area to clean it. The patio and deck was cleaner after they left than before they arrived. All I can say is that I'm glad I didn't use Angie's List as the only option to make my choice in selecting a gutter installation company. Word of mouth is 'very' important too. I told Marion about his companies review on Angie's List and he did not seem familiar with it. He said his son may have signed him up for Angie's List but he did not think he had listed his company. Marion said he get most of his business from word of mouth. I strongly recommend this company for your gutter work.

The guy called to give me the estimate. It was $250 for home #1 and $350 for home #2. Six hundred dollars was way more than I was expecting. But, at the time, I didn't have anything to which I could compare, so I said I would have to let them know. I remembered the coupon for $50 for any job. So, I called the guy back and asked if that price included the $50 coupon and if it could be used on each job. He said that the price did include the coupon and it was used for each estimate. I indicated that I would check around and let him know something. His comment was, "Good luck!" And it was said as if I wouldn't be able to find anyone any cheaper....very unprofessional and not what I'm looking for in someone I hire for services. And, I did find someone else for HALF the price WITHOUT a coupon.

They were fantastic and on time. They gave us a lot of options. They told us what would be best for our home. They did everything on time and on budget.
