As mentioned above, they arrived on time and gave me a fair and reasonable bid.. I will most likely use Alvarado Masonty for my project and will be calling them to return about mid July, 2015 and will follow up with a review.

They did a really great job. They matched the brick really well, completed the work quickly and cleanly.

Mr. Alvarado came to the home. We discussed the work to be done, price and agreed. Work was done same day. Very satsfied.

Jose and his team responded quickly to my inquiry for an estimate, making an appointment to see the fireplace within two days of the call. Jose arrived on time and provided a reasonable estimate, noting they could do the job in one day. I scheduled the appointment. Jose and his team called prior to arriving and actually showed up a a bit early to get started. The team was quick, efficient and careful to clean up the area around the fireplace when finished. They also covered our furniture and floors with plastic and paper prior to starting work to protect them. Jose took the time to show me (the homeowner) what he was doing and how it would improve the fireplace. The team finished in one day as promised and the completed fireplace is beautiful. I definitely recommend Jose and his team for any masonry work you need.

Mrs. Alvarado responded and set up an appointment for someone to come out to my house and give me an estimate. Again, the appointment was set up one full week in ADVANCE. I took the morning off from work to be at my house for the appointment. I waited 30 minutes after the appointment time before calling them to see if they were still coming. I was told, "I'm so sorry, I forgot...can you do 2pm on Sunday?" which, giving them the benefit of the doubt, I agreed to. Later that day, they called me and asked if they could stop by that evening instead. Mr. Alvarado came by ~6:30pm on Friday evening and measured the area. He said that he would email me an estimate within 3 days. I never received the estimate. I probably had a $4k-7k job, and was just looking for someone to get it done. Mr. Alvarado was very nice, but unfortunately, I believe he is too busy to accommodate new customers. The lack of accountability and the fact that I took off work to meet him when I scheduled the appointment a week in advance he didn't show is not cool.

He was very timely and very fair. We had a question about how something was done, and he came back out to look at it and ensured everything was fine. I was pleasantly surprised since it was my first experience with Angie's List. I was very happy overall.

The front wall of our very old home had been been letting water penetrate the house. We had put off the tuck pointing that needed to be done because we were worried that it would not blend in with the rest of the wall. We checked Angie's List and found Alvarado's and are so glad that we did! They did an absolutely beautiful job, were very punctual, hard working and efficient. The cost was also very reasonable. I wouldn't hesitate recommending them to anyone and we will probably have them to do some more of our repairs.

They did a great job. Were there when they said they would be there! Came back to look at some concerns I had. Fixed those concerns. Would highly recommend them for anyone that needs some repairs done.

Jose and his crew were extremely friendly, responsive and did great work. Jose, the owner, really cares about his work and customer satisfaction. This was the second time I used him. They replaced the stone veneer very quickly. He catered to my needs. Jose inspected the work with me to ensure I was happy. I'm typically pretty picky about jobs being done right, and I had no issues with him. I really liked the service and would recommend him for great work done well.

Juan was very responsive, knowledgeable and professional. I can't sing his praises loud enough! Everyone that sees the house can't believe any work was ever done. The brick matches perfectly and thanks to his punctuality, my home closed right on time. We will definitely use them again and probably very soon as are planning on building an outdoor fireplace and kitchen. The best brick mason in town!

Mr. Alvarado and his co-worker were terrific. He matched the stones on our home to the mailbox. He was professional, prompt, friendly, and cleaned up after the work. The mailbox is beautiful. I would not hesitate to use him again or recommend his work to my friends and neighbors.

It is turnkey so I did not have to do anything. He matched the morter to the cream well and matched the brick perfectly to what we wanted. He donated his time of masonry labor work for free. Everything lines up perfectly and he really paid attention to the details.

I contacted Jose to come out to provide a solution and an estimate on fixing my fireplace that was separating from the wall. A day or two later, on July 10th, he came out and said he would need to remove the bricks one at a time about half way down and rebuild using the same bricks and interspersing similar brick if some brick could not be saved and using similar brick to build the mantel. He said he could do the work around Aug. 8th. He gave me a verbal estimate of about $1000 for the fireplace and $300 for the exterior. He had to be out of town for awhile but later sent an email with the estimate. When I decided to have the work done, I sent him an email. When he returned from being out of town, he called on July 29th to say he could be here on July 31st between 7:00 and 8:00 am. He and 3 others arrived around 8:00 am. They made sure the furniture and the floor was covered to protect it from the dust and debris. They worked diligently, only taking a lunch break, until almost 5:00 pm. Jose made sure I understood how he would build the mantel and assured me it would look beautiful. Jose secured the fireplace so that it would not be able to move. I was very impressed with their work. The mantel looked better than I could imagine. I appreciated the quality of workmanship they provided. Afterwards, they cleaned up everything (except inside the fireplace), including next to the curb. I would definitely recommend them and would hire them again if needed.

Mr. Alvarado and his team were extremely professional and pleasant. Mr. Alvarado told us they would be there early in the morning to begin the job and they arrived when he said they would. My husband wanted a flat top with an overhang on the new mailbox and they built the replacement mailbox exactly as he described it. The finished work is beautiful! The team worked hard and fast and completed the job in one day. The team cleaned the work area spotlessly. We would definitely use Alvarado's Masonry Construction & Remodeling again! In fact, our neighbor asked Mr. Alvarado for an estimate on some mortar repair. They did the work the same day they finished our project. Our neighbor is extremely pleased with their work. We told Mr. Alvarado that we would get back with him as soon as we made our decision. We called him 2 days later and left a message on his voicemail letting him know that we accepted his estimate and would like to use his services. We did not hear back from him, so we called him 2 more times and left messages and he still did not respond. We ended up contacting a different person to get our fireplace repaired.

Our mailbox had various rectangular stones not all same size. He listened to us and made very similar ones for the replacement. The work was done in a day.

I took bids from two other contractors. Jose was the only contractor that was right for this job. He LISTENED to what I wanted, studied the drawing I gave him, and discussed the job with me. I appreciate the fact that he arrived after work in his work truck, pulling a trailer and with his crew. Two properties meant two owners and he worked with both of us accommodating each in a satisfactory manner. He attended to every detail and discussed possibilities and/or changes. He made suggestions when necessary as he could see things we had not considered. All this work took a while and the crew cleaned up after themselves as necessary including power washing my driveway when all the work was finished. I received a detailed bid. If any change was made I received an updated statement reflecting work done. Jose always responded to phone calls or texts and email. The crew was on time, did a full day of work, and took away trash and discarded material. They were all nice guys. I phoned him several months later after lots of rain because one gate wouldn't lock properly. He worked with that owner and made the necessary adjustment. I'd hire Alvarado's Masonry Construction and Remodeling again as they are very good at what they do.

Jose (Luis) and his team arrived at the appointed date/time and began framing in the forms for the concrete poor. I had already done the demolition myself to save a few dollars on the bid. I wanted to ensure that these new steps were tied into the existing house foundation which Jose did with numerous rebar ties. He used base for filling in the large void and then placed and tied in the rebar as one would expect. The pour and finish were completed. Once this set a couple of days the forms were removed and the stone sides were added. We are very pleased with the appearance and the quality. I had one minor crack in the mortar between a couple of stones that were used to wrap the existing wooden supports for the porch roof. Jose was back within a day of contacting him to repair this mortar joint. It has now been two months and no other issues has been noted.

Fabulous job! Even though the flooring was 13 years old he patched it perfectly. Great crew of professionals. Will use them for all flooring needs.

They completed the work as estimated and on time and at the price quoted and it looks great.

Mr Alvarado exceeded my expectations in cleaning calcium deposits (efflorescence) from the brick of my home. He was prompt,l professional and reasonable in price. I definitely recommend him for this process.

We received outstanding service from Alvarado Masonry. We chose them because of their high rating on Angie's list and positive previous customer responses. Jose provided a very detailed and accurate estimate for the work to be performed. He also provided us with numerous suggestions on the color and style of rock wall to match the existing brick style of our house. Jose emailed me the final contract the next day and the schedule of when he could begin work. He estimated it would take a week to demolish our old wall, haul away the concrete rubble, and build the new wall and concrete ramp. Jose said he would be there each morning at 7AM to start work. The work crew were at our house each morning at 7AM and usually left about 5:30PM. The work crew were very friendly and courteous. They kept the work site very organized and clean. Jose kept us informed each evening of what was left to be done. The new wall, and concrete ramp were completed on time and on budget. I am extremely happy with the way the new patio wall and wheelchair ramp turned out. The finished product looks fantastic! I would definitely choose Alvarado Masonry again for any future work.

had some brick columns that were leaning over 15 degrees or so. they dug trenches and filled with concrete. work was completed timely and within estimate. will definitely use them again. I am pending an estimate for some additional work.
