Jose was very helpful and professional at our first meeting. His crew were punctual and courteous and did excellent work, including cleanup. I recommend this company very highly.

Better than I expected. I interviewed several people all quoted outraeous. I hired losers who messed up material and had no clue what they where doing. Then I found Alvarado and omg wow. Fast. Fixed the crap the other people messed up and did it super. Will never go with anyone else.

He did a great job replacing the masonry on the front of the house after my sister-in-law slammed a car into the garage. He matched everything extremely well.

After researching on Angles List, I sent an email request and tried to place a direct call on 6/22. It's been over 24 hours and I have not received a reply. My job may have only been about $250 but it is money that someone else will now get for probably 1.5 hours considering I have already taken care of the primary dig-out.

He was fantastic! He gave me a fair price and did great work. Professional, courteous, and on time. We will be using him again to rebuild some stone stairs in our backyard.

Fantastic! I can't say enough good things about Jose Luis Alvarado and his group. They were punctual, professional, honest, etc. It was an all around great experience. We cold called Jose by looking online and reading reviews to do stone around our indoor kitchen island and an outdoor grill. While we were a little nervous having this type of stone work done in our house, as soon as we saw what he could do with the kitchen island, we hired him to do some additional work that we had always wanted in our house. He really does top notch work and the professionalism and responsiveness is refreshing. No headaches or worries. Call him - you won't be disappointed!

Lightning struck our chimney last fall. Mr. Alvarado came by in November to give a quote. Waited until after holidays to do repair. E-mailed Mr. Alvarado first week in January. He immediately called me to set time to do repairs. Came early in morning with crew and was finished by 2 PM. Work was done efficiently and quickly. Left work area clean. I would recommend Mr. Alvarado for masonry work.

Alvarado's Masonry re-tuckpointed the brick on the front of my 2 story house. They removed my shutters, covered my windows with plastic, ground out all the old mortar and installed new mortar. They matched the color of my mortar perfectly. After they were done, they re-installed my shutters and cleaned up my front yard of the old mortar. They did an excellent job.

The contractor was very professional, gave a fair quote for the work and did outstanding work. He is on time and completed the project as estimated. We will use him again

Repaired pretty serious masonry problems on our house due to foundation shift and subsequent leveling. We had problems that I thought looked hopeless, but Jose walked around with me, took a few notes and said, " no problem" and sent me a quote a few days later. I was worried that I might have to find somebody else because we had to wait almost six months because of another contractor we had out for another job, who was in the way (and had a habit of not showing up). But, when I finally called Alavado's back, he said 'I can start next Wednesday, is that okay?" ...show up he did. This is an owner/operator business. The man answers the phone, writes the bids, and is working with his crew, and they are working 9-10 hours a day until they are finished. Just amazing. I can't recommend him enough. It was a big job and big price (for me), but absolutely worth it.

Jose Alvarado arrived to give me a proposal for the work just one hour after my phone call. He was very professional. He spent about 15 minutes walking the exterior with me. He pointed out all of the areas that needed repairing and explained to me what he would do to repair the cracks. He said cracks would need to be cleaned out with an angle grinder in preparation to accept the new mortar. Jose gave me a verbal bid for the repairs that seemed to be very reasonable considering all the work that would be needed. With a handshake I accepted his proposal. He said he could have his crew start work 7:30 AM the next morning. Jose and his crew arrived promptly at 7:30 and started working right away. The grinding caused way more dust than I anticipated. Clouds of mortar dust settled everywhere: sidewalks, patio, walls, landscaping and my large floor to ceiling windows. I was very concerned about the huge mess they were making. I had nothing to worry about. They did a terrific job cleaning up after themselves, washing all of the areas with a hose. The work areas were left clean and neat On the final walk thru I noticed a few areas that needed additional finishing. Jose apologized and fixed the areas with no complaint or hassle. Jose mentioned that he found an additional 30 cracks that we did not identify during our initial walk thru the day before. I don't doubt he found more cracks. Every time I look at those walls I seem to find cracks I haven't seen before. I expected to be hit with a large 50-60% increase for the additional work. Jose said he would honor the verbal bid he gave me of $1,715. A gesture that I very much appreciated! I ended up paying him a little more, $1850, because of his professionalism and his crew's quality work. I WOULD NOT HESITATE RECOMMENDING ALVARADO'S MASONRY TO FRIENDS AND FAMILY!!

He was on time and very professional. The cost was more than we wanted to spend so we went with plan B.

There was a five foot by one foot stain on the limestone on the front of the house caused by drainage from the roof splashing on the limestone during heavy rainfall. Power washing could not remove all of the debris. I first talked with Mr. Alvarado via phone and texted him a photo of the area with the stain. He responded immediately with and estimate, Had received the same estimate from another vendor for the exact price he quoted. Apparently, both vendors charge a minimum of 4 hours labor for stonework regardless of the actual amount of time used to complete the job. Mr. Alvarado and another worker arrrived on time . The limestone stain was sanded off and some regrouting was done. The front limestone was restored with no evidence of the previous staiining. The job took less than an hour. I asked for an estimates to have the concrete walkway at the front of my home improved with a cosmetic overlay. Mr. Alvarado took measurement of that area and told me he would get back to me with an estimate and some photo samples.. Mr. Alvarado did not get back to me with an estimate.

It went very well. They were very professional, nice and neat.

They did an excellent and extremely satisfactory job. They removed and cleaned the limestone blocks already present and added them where necessary. IT LOOKS BEAUTIFUL!!! and when I have some more money saved I will have him come back and complete the other areas. Because they could not do the job as scheduled, they gave me a $100 discount. They cleaned up everything and used the correct mortar. (The previous job was lousy and never again will my sister who lives with me ever use anyone not on Angies List.)

As mentioned above, they arrived on time and gave me a fair and reasonable bid.. I will most likely use Alvarado Masonty for my project and will be calling them to return about mid July, 2015 and will follow up with a review.
