Alvarado's was prompt in contacting us, sent Jose out to look at the job, got us an estate promptly, and gave us a start date shortly thereafter. Jose was very knowledgable about the work we wanted done. Jose brought a large crew, and they were able to do the job quickly and, in my estimation, perfectly. It's nearly impossible to see which columns were rebuilt or repaired or where the repairs were on the wall. Jose and his crew went above and beyond by doing some repairs and cleanup that were not part of the job estimate, and dealt with bad roads and lack of water with grace. Marissa Alvarado kept in contact with us via e-mail and phone, as did Jose, throughout the whole process. I would highly recommend Alvarado's Masonry, and we're planning to use them again in the near future

Jose Luis Alvarado and his crew did a great job rebuilding a gate and entrance column on the front of your property. I was concerned that new rock would not match, so they chipped out all of the old rock, removed the mortar piece by piece, and then rebuilt the column and wall completely from the recycled stone. When they were done, you could not tell a difference at all from the old work and where it blended into the new work. They also fixed two interior columns with the same attention to detail. They finished exactly when they promised and he came back to install the gate latch after the mortar had dried completely. When he returned to attach the latch, he even fixed the top of another column where we had noticed a few pieces of stone had started to separate. I thought he?d just add some mortar as a patch, but he pulled the rock off, cleaned the entire mortared area and reinstalled it just like the other job. He didn?t even ask me for additional payment?he did it as a courtesy. The crew was courteous and respectful of the worksite and cleaned up completely when they were finished. I would highly recommend them?they did great work and were professional throughout. I am getting bids on another project as we speak!

We rec'd a special offer from Angie's List for mortar repair so we decided to buy it. Jose came out promptly, he identified all the repairs and gave us a fair price for having everything done. Jose and Mario came a couple of days later, as agreed and did a fabulous job! They were very professional and went above and beyond what was agreed upon! We highly recommend Jose to anyone needing masonry work!

They were very professional. They accommodated the changes that I needed very well - they were quite flexible in approach to their building. Top-notch professionalism.

This went very well. I was amazed at how quickly he wanted to start and how quickly he finished.

I called for an estimate to repair or replace a step in my back yard, the next day he came and gave me an estimate and the day after he started the work. It was finished in one day and on the second morning he came to inspect and make sure we were saitsified and would not accept payment until then. I was very satisfied.

Jose came out to provide an estimate. He explained 2 different ways that I could go on the repairs. I chose one and we set the price. We set up a Saturday for the work to be performed. He said it would take all day. He did not show up on Saturday. He showed up on Sunday with extra men so that he could finish in 1/2 a day instead of a full day. Since I had no plans and all the work was done outside it did not bother me that he showed up a day later than agreed upon but this might affect another person. I have a peach colored mortar on my brick and Jose matched it PERFECTLY. He did an excellent job on the mortar and plaster repair, the power washing and the clean up. I would definitely use him again but would emphasize if I definitely needed the work done on a specific day and at a specific time.

Phenomenal! I am in the construction industry and have generally been disgusted with the quality, professionalism, punctuality and trade knowledge of San Antonio home improvement contractors. They are horrible and know nothing about doing the job right. Jose is excluded from the statement above. He was perfect in every category. In fact, because he was so great, we'll be starting a couple of other projects with him in the near future that were previously unplanned. I would recommend him to friends, family and anyone else whom is interested in a high quality, fairly priced and well done project.

Mr Alvarado came out to the house at the stated time and date to look at the repairs and work I needed done and sent me a quote by email. I contacted him and told him that the stated price was acceptable and was told that they would contact me when he was able to start my job but that it would be the following Thursday (5/3) or Friday (5/4) before he could start. I informed him that was acceptable to me. I received a email on 5/3 telling me that Mr Alvarado would be there on Friday morning to start work. I took the day off from work in order to be there to open the home for him and he never showed. He never called or emailed me that he would not be making it. I called him several times during the day and left a message and didn't receive a return call. I emailed them on Saturday 5/5 and asked them to explain to me what happened the day before and why they didn't show up. I explained to him that if I didn't hear anything from them that I would have to look elsewhere to get the work done. It is Monday night at 10pm and I have still not heard anything from anyone at Alvarados Masonry. I have wasted almost two weeks with this man only to be disappointed by his noshow with no explanation. I needed to have the work done in a timely manner and was wrong to trust this company to get it done. I had already had friends wanting their info so that he could do work for them as well and I have since told them to look elsewhere instead of being led astray by this company. I gave favorable marks on some things since he did show up for the initial appointment.

Prompt response from receiving the estimate to completing both jobs. Finished in the stated amount of time. Workers were courteous and were responsible about minimizing and then cleaning up any mess. Price was as quoted.

Amazing! Jose and his wife were very punctual, detailed in explanations and assisted me with the design and process of remodeling. Able to also provide references for electrical work. Jose's main concern was that I was happy with how the project was completed. His pricing is fantastic, but the service is amazing. He worked hard and long, getting the whole job completed in 5 days, when other companies quoted me two weeks. I will definitely use him again and refer him to friends.
