Very good. Marc and others at Alonso's were very professional. I took my estate items and Marc reviewed quickly to determine what needed appraising. I left my items there overnight and went back the next day. His pricing was reasonable compared to other nearby Jewelers. He provided photo document for each item, plus a very nice portfolio for insurance or probate inventory. I was very pleased. I was also pleased with the work done to my wedding band. I would recommend Alonso's to my friends and family.

I wanted to sell a number of jeweler's cut synthetic gemstones. Alonso does not buy these but they referred me to a company that did. Alonso also looked at some silver and pearls and advised me whether or not they were genuine. I thought the jeweler was very considerate to use his time and skill to provide me with the information, especially when he did not charge for this service. I am not 100% certain of the date I visited Alonso Jewelry.

I went to Helzberg Diamonds and asked for a price quote to repair the crown and I was told it needed replacing. I thought the crown looked like it only needed straightening out but the sales associate said it needed replacing to the tune of $269.00 plus tax and that I should get it appraised to reflect the current pricing of gold. I went looking for an appraiser and there was not many in San Antonio. I did some phone calling and one assessor told me that I needed to surrender my ring for two weeks and they would charge me a percentage of what the diamond was worth! I ran away from that individual. I called my insurance company and they told me to look for someone who was a certified gemologist to get the best appraisal so I started looking at the official websites and found Alonso Jewelry Designs. Mr. Alonso is certified and a member of the National Association of Jewelry Appraisers. He did the appraising while I waited on site, took pictures of both my rings, wrote up a description gave me a detailed appraisal and charged me $ $95.00. I asked about the possibility of repair to my crown and filling in with gold in an area where the gold had worn away. He assured me it was not a problem and the work was done for $60.00 including tax. I did have to surrender my diamond ring for repair but it was done in one week. I will never go anywhere else to get my jewelry repaired and I am glad I spent the time investigating.
