Left a message to schedule service and it took a really long time to receive a return call. Andy and his team are hard workers and the work was good; however, he underestimated the amount of time it would take the team to finish work. Had to come back several days later to finish. Would appreciate being given a total price estimate up front and paying up front versus paying after work is complete.

Great job house had great curb appeal when they were done it was ready to list and got an offer within 3 days landscaping my big yard really helped.

The job was done quite well. They moved my stuff prior to trimming and completed job successfully. They didn't I've the stuff back . I asked them about it and was told they didn't do that. Otherwise this and the price; I'd recommend them.

It went okay. They didn't do much. It was in January so there was nothing done with the grass. I think they did what they could for that time of year.

Andy was prompt to respond to the purchase of his Big Deal I made on Angie's List. We scheduled a day, but he was unable to make it apparently and wasn't able to let me know, which was a bit frustrating. I called and left a voicemail to try and re-schedule, which they promptly responded to and apologized profusely. Once Andy did arrive they did outstanding work very quickly. Trimmed a 30' tall palm tree, which was impressive! Thinned out my front yard Oak and trimmed up most of the other trees I have. Aside from the punctuality, I was very impressed with Andy and his crew.

All went well. They were prompt, courteous and professional. My tenants and neighbors were pleased and impressed with the yard trees results.

The primary intent of this service was to remove leaves from around the perimeter of my back yard. Throughout the year I blow leaves from around the pool to along the fence line so they can be easily collected once a year. There are a lot of leaves, which is why I pay to have them removed. I could do it, but it's an all day job. When the folks from Alamow called for description called to ask about what we wanted, I gave them the information above. I also wanted some light trimming on hedges and to have some mulch spread. After having been here less than an hour the crew informed me that their truck was full and they would not be able to collect all the leaves. I told them that is why they were hired and asked them to come back to complete the job. They refused and left. A few minutes later I received a call from Angie (office manager at Alamow) saying the crew was not aware that I had purchased the $249 Landscaper for a Day special and that they would return to finish. Angie, by the way, was very friendly and handled the situation very well. The crew did return and worked a while longer. They assured me that everything had been finished (I had to leave for an appointment and could not inspect the work). The next day I found they had not collected all the leaves and did a very poor job of trimming the bushes (each was a different shape and height - very poor symmetry). I will need to finish the job myself. Bottom line, I cannot recommend Alamow Lawns and Tree Service.

They did a great job of cleaning the yard. They also gave an estimate for a tree trimming that we were able to get done at much lower cost with another provider.

I should have gone with my gut on this one and not called them back for work again, see my lukewarm review of 3/17/14 for my experience with them when they did some yard work then. The unpleasantness started right up again when I booked a tree job. They first said they would not come because the owner, Mr. Andy Sanchez, had "bid" on the job at the time he had done my yard work, and therefore I was not eligible to use an Angie's List coupon. (Is that really in the fine print?) In any case, we had talked about doing some tree work when he came out in April for the yard work, but it was all general, and there was no specific figure quoted for specific work to be done, verbally or in writing. They finally said, "OK, I guess there wasn't a formal bid", and agreed to come out, but TBH why did I have to go through all that? The next red flag was when the owner, Mr. Andy Sanchez, came out to give the estimate. He seemed to have a real chip on his shoulder like he was unhappy to be doing that. I decided to ignore my gut feeling again, and the work was scheduled for 5/16/14 (at a considerable amount higher than the Angie's List quote/purchase, because he said the work involved was more than the purchase would cover). I had made arrangements for them to come into the neighborhood and do the work on 5/16/14 as I was out of town that day, but came back home to a phone message from them that the neighborhood guard wouldn't let them in (??). This didn't make sense to me, but I figured there was some reasonable explanation for some scheduling mix up somewhere, so we rescheduled for the 28th. Trying to figure out after the fact what went wrong, I asked the neighborhood guard this week what he knew about the situation. He's been there forever, maybe 10 or more years, is extremely reliable, and and he ALWAYS calls me when there is someone to come in the neighborhood. He said he was on duty when Alamow Trees and Lawn came on 5/16/14, and he filled in the details that Alamow Tree and Lawn Service didn't leave in their voicemail or in the Angie's Messaging Center - that there were three guys in the truck, including Mr. Sanchez the owner, and none of them had driver's licenses. Homeowner's Association rules don't allow contractors in without at least 1 person in the truck having a valid driver's license, so they couldn't come in to do the work. The neighborhood gate guard also said that when he asked them on 5/16/14 if any one in the truck had a license at home they could get and return to do the work, they said yes ... but never returned. Fast forward from that day, 5/16/14 to the rescheduled day, 5/28/14. The same thing happened! The guard called me this time when they were at the gate ... Mr. Sanchez and two others in the truck, _none with driver's license_ , they said they would go home and get one and return to do the work, but for the 2nd time they didn't. So - work not done. This was very frustrating, as I had roof people coming out 2 days later (5/30/14) and wanted the tree work done first. I messaged Alamow Trees and Lawn and asked whether they could come out on the 29th, and they said no, "since they had come out twice to do the work!" (paraphrasing), that I should get an Angie's List refund. All in all, way too much drama, a very unpleasant and time consuming experience with nothing to show for it. I will absolutely NOT consider using Alamow Trees and Lawn Service for anything at all ever again in the future.

We contacted to see about getting some tree service; he informed us that he wanted to come out and take a look to give a proper estimate. We specifically informed him that we only wanted certain things done for the value of the deal, but he was more than welcome to let us know what else needed to be done, not promising that we will follow through with anything else. When he left, there was just a verbal estimate at $2300 that he said was normally $2800, but with the deal coupon taken off. We were under the impression when he left he was going to come back and do the work that we wanted to be done for the cost of the deal. He later said he is not going to do the work, he would only do the entire job for $2300. We are just requesting a refund on the deal.

Alamow responded promptly to my "deal" purchase. Andy came to the house and was informed of the work needed and gave me an estimate at that time. The job was scheduled to be done within a week of the estimate. The crew arrived on time and the work was completed in about 5 hours. I would use them again if needed.

The team was at my house for roughly an hour and a half with three of their team members. They removed dead plants, large rocks and a HUGE bush that was causing a security issue with my home.

Crew arrived 30 min before agree schedule, which was ok, All trees where trim and dead limbs removed. All large cuts where treated and the work area was cleaned in detail after job was finished.

I was really happy with their work. They did general lawn work, trimming of the shrubs, and cleaned up some flowerbeds. They charged me $40 to haul away the leaves.

In reviewing what they were willing to do for the Big Deal, I thought it was not enough to justify the cost. I also asked what it would cost to have one of the trees removed, and he told me $2500. Another company had quoted me $900, so I felt like all the way around we were not on the same page. The company also changed the scheduled date of service, which was supposed to be today, to two weeks from now.

As always, Andy and crew were awesome. They were on time, very professional, and extremely clean. Andy and crew are the only guys I will let touch my trees.

Two men came out and worked an hour and a half and trimmed shrubs that hadn't been trimmed for awhile. They did a professional job and cleared and took away the brush.

Provider didnt keep appointments twice. Cancelled the first time due to weather. Second time I was left waiting from 1pm to 7pm no show unanswered phone calls to find out if they were still coming. While I was given extra free time when they finally showed up the company still left a bad impression on me. Workers were very polite and thorough making sure they cleaned up but for an extra $40.00 fee

I would have given them an A but there was some back and forth between Mr. Andy (the worker = the owner) and me, him and his office, and finally his office and me, which was a little unpleasant as it was happening, but ultimately things got resolved satisfactorily. I'd bought the $89 for 3 hrs Big Deal (spring clean up yard work). When he came over in the morning, he looked over the yard with me and said no problem. Three man-hours later he said the job was taking much longer than he predicted, and that he would have to leave then and come back at some TBD time later because he had other jobs booked that day he needed to get to. My yard was maybe 1/2 completed at that time, it really didn't look good in that unfinished state. I had taken time off from work to be there that day, and told him it would be really hard for me to take off 2 days for this job. I said I probably wouldn't have had him get started if he said at the beginning he'd need to come back a 2nd day ... it would have been easier for me to go back to work right then and there and make other plans to get the whole yard done later, in one session. Anyway, after 2 or 3 phone calls and conversations of the sort I thought going through Angie's List would help avoid, we got it all sorted out - he stayed and did the work in the one visit, it was of good quality, and all is well that ends well. There wasn't any unprofessionalism in the interactions themselves between him and me, or his office and me, it's just that I didn't expect to have to go through any of that ... I chalk it up to just one of those things that sometimes happens. I checked off that I "would" use him again, and I have actually booked him to do some tree work with me.

The work was done quickly and well, the guys were on time and did a great job cleaning up. In fact they were a bit early and immediately started in on the job.

The trimmed about four trees and they were very professional and good to work with. The only thing that I would say that I didn't like is that I would recommend the people to ask them to specify what they could do when they look at the yard for deal that I purchase. I ended up spending a little bit more that what the deal was. I ask them to do something and there was a misunderstanding because I had no idea what I got in the deal. The work was great because my trees were in bad shape. We just sold our house so the trees helped made the back yard looked good. The interaction was very professional.
