Description of Work: Trimmed up several trees around the house and barn as well as 4 on the driveway. They cleaned up beautifully, cut large logs to fireplace size, mulched the rest and put everything in convenient places for us. They did a fantastic job! We will definitely have them back when we need trees trimmed in the future.

Description of Work: Nothing. I sent an email to provide with purchase. Did not receive a response for 8 days. Totally unacceptable in my book. Have requested a refund.

Description of Work: I'm really hesitant to post this because I have seen where Alamow has been given poor reviews before and just argues everything posted. However, Angie's List has solicited the review from us over 4 times now, so we decided to share our experience with Alamow, as former customers. Rarely did they show up when scheduled and there were tons of miscommunications. I wish I could post the text messages showing how many times I had to ask why they didn't show up to show you exactly how unreliable they were. Initially, they would move the large trash can (which we kept behind our gate in the backyard) out into the front or neighbor's yard and leave it there! After the third time, I called and asked that they start putting the trash can back where they found it. I guess I should have just been happy they were moving them to mow back there? They didn't mow the front either, they used a weed eater, until again, I had to ask that they actually mow, since that is what we had asked for and been quoted for. They did correct both issues, which was appreciated and I thanked them for doing. I will say, Andy was very kind and professional when he did get to us and Andie in the office was nice enough on the phone, and would apologize, they just had no commitment to taking care of us as a customer. We gave them a year's worth of time to improve too! There was always an excuse that they were too busy and just didn't get to us because Andy had taken on other projects. That shouldn't be the customer's problem though. Even still, I really think that would have been acceptable if it didn't happen on a monthly basis and if they'd made an effort to make up for it the following day! Or even 2-3 days later. But when they missed us, instead of becoming a priority, we still stayed at the bottom of the list and were lucky to get our yard done once a month, and even that required tons of follow up. We were stuck though because there weren't other options in our area at the time. Again, this is all documented on text message and multiple times I would take Andie's own text, confirming they would be there a certain day and send it back to her asking why they didn't come. They were just always too busy for us. We have so many other projects we wanted them to do but didn't dare offer the business to them after all this. And several neighbors we could have referred but they were already busy enough, according to Andie. We have since found someone else on Angie's List, who charges us half the price as Alamow, does a better job, and shows up EVERY time they are supposed to!

Description of Work: Fantastic and professional service. Highly recommend their services. Conducted inital inspection and provided accurate estimate of time and cost. Spring landscaping consisting of: Trimming and removal of all branches, removal of dead trees; filled in cavities of several trees, trimmed bushes, mowed lawn and removal of all clippings.

Description of Work: The Alamow team was very responsive and made time to visit my place for developing a work estimate. The estimate was much higher than expected. Although we worked it down to a point I was comfortable with, I decided to check with another couple of providers. Both gave comparable out-of-pocket estimates which meant there was no net benefit for the Angie's List deal. Additionally - Alamow did not provide a written estimate to document the work we agreed to conduct for the budget.

Description of Work: First time out they did not do the job completely as described. Came back and finished the job. Cleaned up after themselves we'll. my problem was that I asked that a receipt be sent to my insurance company which did not happen.

Description of Work: They were difficult to get in touch initially. I had left several messages before they returned my call. Once I got on their radar things went along nicely. They showed up on time, did what we had agreed upon, and clean up was good.

Description of Work: We recently bought a new house and noticed that the yard, tree's and bushes had been severely neglected. We decided to take advantage of their (Alamow Lawn and Tree) $250 for $500 offer to take care of some badly needed tree/bush trimming. It took about 2-3 weeks to get the initial visit where they survey your yard for the work to be done and give you the actual quote. The quote was a little bit higher than I hoped it would be, but was not completely unreasonable due to the amount of work to be accomplished. | |It then took more than 10 days to hear back from the company as to when they would come back out to accomplish the work. If I had not called them, I don't know how much longer it would have taken. I was given a date later in May. On the day specified, it rained, so that was rescheduled. I believe the date was rescheduled for the 1st week of June. | |On the date, they came out and did great work. They even recommended a good person to do some stump grinding for us (their recommended person came on the same day). I am very happy with their work. They trimmed 2 small trees in the front yard, cleaned up a crape myrtle on the side of the house by the A/C unit (got it off the roof), trimmed up some red tip bushes in the back that looked like they haven't been pruned in years, cut down two ugly bushes in the back yard (they don't grind stumps) and trimmed/opened up a huge oak tree in the back yard. The oak hadn't been touched in years. It had branches hanging so low, they were scrapping the ground. They completely opened it up and let in a lot of sunlight - yet still maintained enough size and shape to keep it shady in the afternoons. I will admit that there was a lot of work to be done. | |Getting back with the customer in a timely manner could stand to be improved, but they came when they said they would and did the work that I asked them to do.
