After the service provider cancelled three separate appointments (one of which without any cancellation notice whatsoever), a crew of three finally arrived an hour late. The quality of this provider's workmanship was the worst I have ever seen. And their lack of professionalism was the worst that I have ever experienced. Due to the multiple cancellations, I was unable to stay at home to oversee the work...big mistake on my part. The job was poorly done and incomplete, and there was little to no cleanup of leaves and other debris prior to departing the job site. One would think that it is difficult to botch a lawn care job; however, I will need to pay another service provider to come back and fix the mess this provider made of the shrubs located in three separate flower beds located at the front of my home. This experience (for me at least) brings into question the entire Angie's List platform, as it was obvious that this particular service provider was simply seeking access to as many unsuspecting consumers to take advantage of in the shortest amount of time. I'm curious to know how does Angie's List solicit vendors who request to advertise a "Big Deal" to its members? Maybe a more thorough review process would help to weed out these type of fly-by-night vendors who are only trying to make a quick buck at the consumer's expense. Based on my recent experience, I would recommend that Alamow Lawns (owner, Andy Sanchez TML Lic# TL-922878) be removed from Angie's List as a preferred vendor; and that members refrain from using their services or be willing to suffer the consequences. The work done by Alamow Lawns & Tree Service went very well. They were great.

It went great. The yard needed more attention than I could give it because I just moved into a home where the landscaping maintenance was not being kept up in some areas.

What work they did accomplish on our front landscaped yard/garden was accomplished well. However outside of trimming back bushes, pulling weeds, and removing a dead bush that appeared to be the extent of work performed. They did trim back 2 palm limbs off corner of my house on one tree but did nothing at all with my backyard or any of the other gardens. Not one bag of mulch was ever opened or placed out despite them advising me to get more and my indicating a priority. The workers were courteous and pleasant enough but they moved like molasses and provided less work than I could have accomplished by myself in the same time frame as they both worked together on one area. They were not shy before departing about wanting to give an additional quote for them to return. I said if they wanted to send to me by email they could but as of now not sure I was willing to commit at this time. Although I have a good sized yard, the reality is had they split up they should've at a minimum finished front and 1/2 of my backyard gardens too include mulch being spread. I was disappointed on the company failing to meet my expectations and got the feeling the offer was an end to a means of them leaving opportunity to come back more than complete work. I give them an overall B- as I think a C would be an unfair representation seeing how when they applied themselves the work was good...problem was lack of applying themselves effectively based on my opinion.

All went well. Four guys showed up so they were finished in about 45 minutes. We had a couple of more trees in the backyard that we would have liked to have weeded and mulched, but they didn't have time to do them. The work they did do was outstanding and we plan to have them back again to so some other work.

Alamow Lawns & Tree Service did a good job. They did an efficient job. The workers aren't much to look at but they did their job diligently until the job was done.

The young lady I dealt with was very soliticious and interested in my requests. However, there seemed to be a misunderstanding between the gentleman they sent out to get details and me. We set an appointment for 3:00PM. on Friday. I found that I was running late that day and called to say I may be late arriving and if necessary we could reschedule. She told me that would not be necessary, they could begin without me being there. I arrived home at 3:30 pm and several limbs had been removed, but not all those I had shown them I needed to remove. The area was left neat and orderly. I called Alamow and told them I was not pleased because two limbs I had specifically requested to be removed were not. She assured me they wanted me to be happy with the work and would contact the workers and let me know on the folliowing Monday what we could do to correct the problem. No one came nor called during the following week so I hired another contractor who completed the work, worked on other trees at a much better price. To pay $249 for 30 minutes work seemed rather high. Since I have been having my trees trimmed for the last 20 years I feel I am aware of what needs to be done and how long it takes. Wish it could have had a better ending. I need to say the young lady who I talked with was most professional and pleasing.

Alamow Lawns & Tree Service's customer service was great. The punctuality of them showing up on time for estimates and doing the job was great. The employees were very nice and friendly.

,Very responsive, on time, terribly hot day, 100 deg. I suggested stopping mid-day & finishing another day, but they kept at it til all was done and cleaned up. He honored his big deal offer which caught my eye thru the email from Angie"s List. I have already handed his cards around to 2 friends, plus told them to get involved with Angie"s List !

I used the $89 special with Angie's List and was told after work was done I owed three times the amount I had already paid. Clean up was poor even with several workers. They were punctual and quick.

Quick, professional, good service and value

It went pretty good with Alamow Lawns & Tree Service. I had more work done. I paid for $750 including the discount. Without the discount, it would have been $1000. They cleaned up all the debris and discarded it for me. They're very adequate.

Andy and his crew of three were on time and very professional. They took care of some overgrown shrubs, trimmed a Oak tree and cut down a tree that had grown in-between my house and a sage. They were fast and very clean. They also hauled away all of the clippings for a small fee. We were impressed with these guys and will have them back to trim larger oaks and for some ball moss removal.

Alamow Lawn and Tree service was very professional, they arrived on time and went right to work. Before starting work they removed all the potted plants around the tree so they would not be damaged, they later replaced the potted plants after they cleand up. In addition I had two very large 25 year old crepe myrtle trees by the driveway that unfortunatly were damageing the concrete and had to be removed. When finished they cleaned up the front yard of all debris. The crew was respectful of the property, I would have no problem in recommending them to anyone and I plan to use them in the future.

Andy and Greg did an excellent job. They were efficient, prompt, and professional. While he was here, II asked Andy for an estimate on cutting down and removing a dead tree from my backyard. I will have him do the job soon and call him for any future ones. I could not be more pleased. I highly recommend his services.

They were very prompt and courteous. They were very, very professional. They got the job done very quickly.

Andy and his crew did a great job of removing a huge tree that was ready to come down (I was afraid) in a big wind. They spent a day and a half cutting, wood chipping and loading logs to complete the removal. They were very pleasant and cleaned up after the job was complete. I would definitely use them again and recommend them to others. Also, Andie in their office was very conscientious about returning my calls and answering all my questions.

Everything was trimmed and all of the debris was carried away. The cuts were all sealed as well to avoid fungus spreading.

Tree service performed and done well. Lawn, weed eating and leaf clean-up done.

The service is fast, efficient and well-done. We've been using Alamow Lawn and Tree Service for all our yard, lawn, and tree trimming work for years, and hired them do our father-in-law's yard, lawn and tree-trimming work as well. As with all good service providers, when they're good that news travels fast. Alamow Lawns is in high demand in our sub-division. We couldn't be more happy with both the rates charged and the service provided - top notch every time! We highly recommend Alamow Lawn - you won't be disappointed.

I have a flat roof and three very large live oak trees that shade the house. The leaves accumulate on the roof causing roofing and drainage problems, clutter the gutters, and have been the cause of water coming into the house. The first time I called Alamow was for trimming all the trees. Andy came out that same day to look at the trees and give me an estimate. He showed me how far back he would trim the trees to get them off the roof and additional trimming he would do to lift them up, shape them, and increase their health. Andy also identified a smaller magnolia tree in my yard that was starting to show some stress because it was overshadowed by one of the live oak trees. He discussed with me my options for addressing the magnolia too. He gave me a price and we set the date. Andy and his team came on day we scheduled and set immediately to work with the tree trimming activities as discussed. Andy trimmed the dead wood off the magnolia and trimmed back the live oak to allow the magnolia to get some sun. As requested, any good size wood he cut into pieces for me to use in my fireplace and picked up and hauled everything else away. I called Alamow again in March to trim up the bushes, get rid of the leaves that had accumulated on the roof, mulch/mow the lawn with all the leaves, and in general get rid of all the leaves and acorns that had fallen this winter and spring that were coating my driveways, walkways, and planting areas. Once again, Andy came out the same day I called to take a look at the job and give me an estimate. Though I asked about doing the work immediately, Andy suggested I wait a couple weeks until the live oaks stopped dropping their leaves so that he would not have to come back out again. I agreed and we scheduled the date for him to do the work. Once again, he arrived on time on the scheduled date (which was after one of the recent rains). He trimmed back the trees on my roof again, removed the standing leaves and water from the roof, took pictures of the roof for me to use to get some roof repairs done, trimmed the bushes, mowed, blew, and picked up all leaves, twigs, tree branches, etc and hauled them away. Andy has become my go-to guy for any tree or lawn service that I need around my house. I already know he will be coming out on a regular basis to trim back the trees and remove the leaves that accumulate on the roof.
