Alamow Lawns & Tree Service

It took a while to schedule an appointment. When they came the estimate was high.

The service worked out fine. He came out, and looked at the tree to see what needed to be done, and then we scheduled an appointment, and he did the work for me. We had moved into a new home, and the previous owner had not trimmed the trees, and they were hanging over the roof. They worked fast, they seemed knowledgeable, and knew what they were doing. When I showed them the problem, they got on it right away, and they also pointed something that I hadn't noticed before. I know I got my money's worth because the neighbor's made a comment about the good job. They told me that it would be an extra 100 Dollars to remove the small tree, but then they didn't charge me extra. The price of the big deal was a great deal. They cleaned up all the branches and everything.

Arrived a little late but not a problem. Trimmed all shrubs/small trees pointed out. Composted and mulched all flower beds (15 bags compost/ 15 bags mulch) then cleaned up entire yard of leaves. $249 for 8 hours labor well worth it (+ $40 for hauling/disposal fee). Would use again. Very satisfied.

They showed up an hour early so I wasn't ready for them, but in the end it all worked out - great job.

The service was very good, they were very good. They were efficient, they were on time, they did what they were supposed to do, and we purchased 2 big deals from the because they were good the first time.The price was reasonable. They knew what they were doing, they were efficient, and they got the job done. They were professional. I will use them again in the future.

The experience was not good. They wanted to charge me more than what the coupon was. The coupon was 249 Dollars. I asked them to do what was worth the 249 Dollars, and the next day they called to tell me that I owed them 200 Dollars, and I told them that I didn't approve the extra work. I can't look at trees and say they did 200 Dollars of extra work. I would tell people to make sure they get in writing that they worked worth what the coupon said, or else they will get called the next day. I will never use them again, if they are going to try and fix me. That is totally unprofessional. Either they did more than the big deal, or they tried to stiff me. They showed up the day they were supposed to.

After purchasing the deal I was promptly contacted to schedule my service. An appointment was set for Friday when I would be home and the company even called to let me know they could get me in sooner if my schedule allowed. The day we agreed on came and I received a text first thing that morning advising me that the company was running late and would not be able to make our 9:30 appointment and inquiring if they could come later that day at 3pm. Since I would not be home at that time, I asked if the company could send someone out before 11 am to survey the work I needed and relay it to the person doing the service. The person I has been corresponding with agreed to come out at 10 to do just that. I was contacted when she was on her way. She walked with me around my property and took both written notes and pictures of the work I wanted done and the order to do it in since I had only paid for three hours I prioritized the jobs. She was very professional and detailed and I felt confident that the work would be handled as I desired. At 5 I received a text asking me to call the company. When I called I was told that the provider was still at the first job of the day and would not make it to my house that day. She apologized and rescheduled me for 8 am Monday making sure that wouldn't bother my neighbors. Even though I would not be home when the work was being done I felt confident the company understood what I needed done. Monday evening I returned late and discovered that the company had come. My list of work to be done was as follows: 1) trim shrubs 2) cut back fountain grass 3) remove a shrub that was growing in an undesired location 4) weed front yard 5) retrench around tree in front yard for mulch 6) weed back yard Since I had purchased 3 hours of work I was not expecting all of the items to be completed but that they would be done in priority order until my 3 hours was up. The company had weeded the large weeds from the front which was not my highest priority and mowed and edged my front and back yard which wasn't on my list. I was a bit perplexed. Tuesday morning I contacted the company and left a message asking to discuss the work they had done. That afternoon after calling again. I received a call back explaining that the person doing the job had left without finishing everything because when mowing my backyard he was inundated by the dog poop (I hadn't scooped because they weren't supposed to be mowing or really in the back yard) and since I was the first stop he had to go home and change before heading to his other jobs. I was reassured that he would be back hopefully at the end of the day to finish the work. If he couldn't make it I was told I would receive a call or text letting me know when he would be out. I received no call and no one showed up to complete the work on Tuesday. On Wednesday I again called the company and was told someone would be at my location between 3:30-4:30 to complete the job. I arrived home at 6 and discovered they had come and done more work. The had removed the shrub, cut back the fountain grass, and retrenched around the tree. So they addressed my priorities except the first one of trimming the shrubs. One of the fountain grass plants was trimmed to 2" in one place and left at 12" everywhere else. The others were trimmed to 12" consistently. I haven't contacted the company again because I'm tired of the hassle and mist of what I wanted done was completed.

The service turned out well. My only problem was that everyday he scheduled seemed to be a bad weather day. I requested for the job to be done, and they got the job done. There was some equipment he didn't have on him the first time around.

The owner of Alamow arrived on time and was very pleasant. The problem I have is with the estimate to trim my big Oak tree. He estimated that the cost for a thorough job would be $600 before the coupon of $249 was applied. Total cost to me would be another $100, bringing my cost to $349. I had the same tree completely trimmed three years ago for $235. I just got an estimate from the same company for a total of $310 including tax. I feel that Alamow probably would have done a good job, but the initial estimate was too high and I really wasn't getting a discounted deal.

It was perfect. They were prompt and quick.

It was a cold day and the guys worked hard. There were 2 of them. They left everything very clean.

Service performed exactly as requested. Three men came out and were finished in under an hour. Everything cleaned up

Read the reviews on Angie's List decided to go with Alamow. Guys (2) came out today and did exactly what I wanted done. Everything looks great, they cleaned up all the twigs etc. I am happy with the end results.

I purchased a deal offered by this company and then hired them to provide biweekly lawn service. The price is very affordable and they provide great service.

Great from start to finish. Andy was always punctual and my yard was super clean when he finished. Having the wood chipper on site was a real plus. I would use his services again.

They were very good. They came after a week or so after I bought the deal. They came out very quickly. It was excellent. They did exactly what I asked for. They cleaned up very well. I've used them since.

It was fine. I paid more because I asked for additional work. Their work was clean. They were here on time. They didn't stick around to waste time. The price was very reasonable.

I am severely disappointed in this service. The information I had stated they would contact me within two days. They didn't, and only contacted me after I sent another message on Angie's list message center and after I informed Angie's List they hadn't contacted me. When I was finally contacted, they gave me a two hour window (1-3pm) over the phone. They also told me they would send a confirmation message via Angie's list message center, but did not. Given the 2-hour window, I arranged my work schedule so I could have time off in the afternoon, at the time the workers were to be at my home. Over the phone, I told them I wanted general yard clean up and Alamow indicated I would have the chance to give them specific details about the work I needed accomplished. Instead, I returned to my house at 11:30 the morning the service was to take place, only to find that the workers had already come and gone. At no time did anyone from Alamow contact me to let me know of a schedule change. Because I wasn't present, the workers made assumptions about cutting back some of my plants, when all I really wanted was clean up of leaves and lawn debris. I didn't want my plants cut without the opportunity to be consulted. Further, the work that was done didn't adequately gather up all the debris and leaves. They might have had time to do a proper job on on the items I wanted if they hadn't taken the time to cut my plants. Finally, the info I read stated that removal of debris from the premises would cost extra. I never asked for anything to be removed, but the material was not left at my home for me to dispose of personally. I have written a message on Angie's List message center to Alamow requesting that I not be charged for a service I didn't request. It remains to be seen if I will or won't be charged. This company disappointed me from the beginning, from scheduling to failure to arrive at the designated time to actual execution of the job. Even for the price, it's not worth the frustration. UPDATE: After my original review, the company contacted me to apologize and ask if they could try again. I told them I couldn't take another weekday off, so they agreed to do the work on a weekend. I was told I would be contacted again within an hour with a time, but it was the end of the day before I heard back. Once a time was agreed upon, I thought everything would be fine. They also called me the evening before to confirm the time. We agreed to a mid-morning appointment on a weekend. I changed my schedule again to accommodate this. Unfortunately, the crew didn't show up until mid-afternoon. Once again, I'm disappointed in the punctuality of this company. The work was accomplished quickly and with limited supervision. I don't intend to hire this company again. The price was good, but it was extremely frustrating to adjust my schedule twice and have them show up whenever they chose anyway.

My only complaint (and a very minor one at that) is that they left a lot of clean-up for me to do.

The provider refused the tree service deal for 199.00 I had purchased a big deal back in Sept. for a lawn service. When Andy was done, he said I also do trees. I could do yours for 400.00. I told him I wasn't interested in tree service right now. In dec. I see that they have a big deal for 199.00 for 400.00 worth of tree service, so I bought it. I was told that I could not use this deal on a previous quote. I never asked for a quote. I personally think this is a bit ridiculous. So I did tried to get Andy to honor the 199.00 tree service since I had already paid for it, for 1 year of lawn service twice a month for the next year. He said he would have to charge me 300.00 more, since Angie's list gets half of the 199.00 so he could make his money. What a mark up. What a deal. I'll take the refund. I really thought that they would want my continued business.
