Description of Work: When I called to I set up an appointment for an estimate, I was told the soonest they could come out would be in three weeks. I set up an appointment for 7/17 at 7:00. I arranged to have my father present, since I had bought this as a gift for him. He has several very large 100+ yr old oak trees, if they are not trimmed and sealed correctly they can contract oak wilt and die. On the morning of the 17th we waited, 7:00 came and went no one showed up. At 8:00 I called, a lady answered who sounded like she was still asleep. She simply said hello, she did not identify herself or the company. I asked if I had the right number, I was calling Alamow Tree Service. She verified it was the right number. I told her I had an appointment at 7 and was wondering if someone was on the way. At first she seemed confused not recognizing my name or the appointment. After a few minutes of confusion and seemingly not finding any trace of my appointment, she informed me that the appointment was for 7 in the evening, not 7 in the morning. I let her know this was a present for my Dad and he and I had both made arrangements to be there that morning. I told her we would make arrangements to be there again at 7 pm. Evening came, 7 pm came and went, at 8:00 I again called. The same lady answered, again failing to identify the company. I asked if I had the right number, she said yes. I informed her that once again we had been waiting for an hour and no one had shown up. She said: "You called this morning didn't you?" "Yes" "You cancelled your appointment." At that point I was getting a little upset. I went over the conversation we had that morning, with her. She put me on hold to see if she could get the guy to come out. She came back and said he would be right out. Not once did she apologize. We waited for a while, my Dad finally had to leave. The guy showed up at about 9 pm, just as it was getting dark. He walked around looking at the trees with a flashlight! Not once did he apologize or offer to come back during daylight hours. He didn't give me a written estimate. He simply told me it would be about $900 for one of the trees and about $1100 for another. Those were the only trees I had him look at because it was getting very dark. This is an 11 acre piece of property with 10 very large oak trees, 8 large pecan trees and several crepe myrtle, china berry, huisache, and mesquite. When I look back on the experience, as I mentioned these are very large, very old trees and no matter how good the deal is, I do not feel comfortable entrusting them to a company with such a unprofessional, lackadaisical attitude.
