Carmen Cantu is a phenomenal teacher. She knows the instrument inside and out and is able to pass on her experience and knowledge to her students in a way that they 'get'. Her patience, professionalism, and complete mastery of her craft have enabled my daughter's skills to improve steadily and consistently over the past year. With previous experience of only about 8 months of once-a-week lessons in music class in her middle school, my daughter was behind her peers (who were members of middle school bands) when we moved to San Antonio last year. This year she achieved 6th chair clarinet out of 30 clarinets in the school band and continues to progress. Carmen passes on performance tips and techniques she has acquired in her career that have really helped my daughter.
Description of Work: Music lessons (1 hour) - Clarinet lessons by Carmen Cantu.

Average. I was told that this company has advised the movers totake no responsibility if the staircase wall of the house breaks during the move from the first to the second floor--- their insurance covers only the piano. I was present when the piano was being moved from the seller's house. I gave the movers a paper to document the condition of the piano (existing scratches, dents, etc.) before moving. They would neither fill out such a paper nor they would sign, on the ground that they dontfill out such pre-moving condition reports. Ultimately, the movers turned out to be niceand careful people. Thus, I would not midn using them for future moving individually. I am not sure I would like to deal with the sales manager's arrogance again. I was supposed to pay $385. But I was told that they would charge more because certain steps outside the house were not included in the price. In reality, the person who had orifinally priced it, had given a small discount because their price exceeded all quotes I has received. I ended up in paying >$400 and the company has certified movers; not bad. However, others were ready to move the piano for $250, $300, etc., but I did not go with them because there were not enought Angie's List reviews for them. It turns out that in the piano moving business they all know eachother and they all work with eachother. Hence, save your bucks as long as the mover does not intimidate you ( I have seen this in one of the Angie's list reports for one mover).
Description of Work: A piano was moved. The distance was 39.4 miles according to the Google Maps.

They told us from the beginning that it would take two weeks before anyone would look at it and that someone would call us. You give them a fee for looking at the instrument that will apply to the repair if you decide to have it repaired. After two weeks, we called them. At first they had trouble finding it because we called it a digital piano and not a Clavinola. But once they found it, they told us what it would cost and they repaired it. It works fine now.
Description of Work: Repaired a Yamaha Clavinola.
