AIR SYSTEMS A/C, HEATING AND REFRIGERATION

It went very well! We have a two-story home with a dedicated A/C unit for each floor. In July, we had Air Systems replace the 20+ year old 4-ton downstairs A/C unit with a modern 17 SEER unit. We love it so much, we hired Air Systems again to replace the 2.5-ton A/C unit for the upstairs. The upstairs unit was also over 20 years old, broke at least once every summer (without fail) and even though it was supposedly fully charged, never cooled the upstairs properly. We hadn’t planned on replacing it so soon after the 4-ton unit but we appreciate the quality of the Trane unit (so quiet and efficient) and the expert installation of the Air Systems team so much, we went for it. This replacement was no different than the first. Very well done the first time and our upstairs area is now as cool as the downstairs. Also, please note that I arranged for 3 quotes from different A/C installation companies the first go around and Air Systems was definitely more competitive, especially in regards to value. This time, I saw no need for an additional round of competitive quotes for the 2.5-ton unit. My wife and I now have peace of mind knowing these units will operate as designed and if there is a problem, Air Systems is here to resolve it.

Mr. Jimenez came out quickly after contacting them & provided several options with estimates by the next day. I had gotten 2 other estimates & his was the most competitive. Work was scheduled quickly & was done on time & as promised. Crew was courteous & efficient & made sure every thing was clean & neat before leaving. I would recommend Air Systems to anyone wanting honest, quality, work at a fair price.

Excellent quality of service with extremely competitive pricing. From the promptness in receiving a quote for a new TRANE system to the timely and courteous back and forth communication during the installation process, Carlos Jimenez and his Air Systems crew were a pleasure to work with. I am fortunate to have come across their business. I will no longer need to call anyone or deal with any other company in the future for any of my AC and heating needs.

I obtained 3 quotes to replace our 4 ton, 2 stage air conditioner/furnace and awarded the installation to Air Systems. Carlos (co-owner) was punctual and analyzed our old system. He efficiently gave us a very competitive price. We scheduled the installation for a few days later. His crew was not only punctual, but he arrived as well to brief and organize them and unpack all of the new equipment. They laid down drop cloths to protect our home. They worked diligently all day with attention to detail. The lead installer Mark showed me how he installed the drain with a wet switch. They took their time to ensure there were no leaks and that the unit operated properly. After everything checked out, they cleaned up and after they wished us a good (cool) evening, you couldn’t tell they had been there. Carlos stopped by 2 days later and inspected the installation himself before notifying the city (permit) that it was ready for code inspection. My wife and I are thrilled with everything from the super-quiet Trane XR-17 to how Carlos’ crew installed it. We will have Air Systems service our HVAC equipment from now on.

I frantically called on a Friday around 6 pm. when I discovered that my downstairs A/C unit was not working. The situation was urgent as my disabled husband is unable to go upstairs where the secondary unit was working. Carlos immediately contacted service technician Mike who arrived within a VERY short time (not immediately but close enough). Mike set out diagnosing our system and determined the cause was our thermostat. He told me what type to buy and how to replace it. When I m mentioned that the handyman who had just left had lowered our thermostat unit a few inches, he looked closer and discovered that the green wires had not been adequately tightened. Viola! Problem solved!! (Incidentally, the handyman's company reimbursed me for the A/C repair bill). Mike was professional, personable, knowledgeable and extremely helpful in explaining what he did and why. Kudos to Carlos as well for immediately jumping into action. Both of them saved the day!

I don’t typically write bad reviews but I have to say this experience has led me to really question whether Angie’s List has real reviews or not - I would say that all the A quality reviews seem fake based on what happened to me. I was basically fleeced at my home for $78 without being given any service or any firm diagnosis of a problem. The gentleman came on time to my home to service my split unit which had frozen up - he spent 15 minutes on it and said he thought there was a leak but to confirm if there was a leak would be an extra $45 fee (on top of the $78 call fee) he also said that it was low on coolant but would charge another $80 to refill the coolant. He then said he thought that it just needed to be replaced altogether and when I asked for an estimate he called his “management” and said that they didn’t service our type of unit. So basically he could not tell me for sure what was wrong and then could not fix anything - when I asked to not be charged the $78 assessment fee since no service nor firm diagnosis could be given he called his manager and they declined. I now see on Angie’s List that there is a coupon to waive the $78 assessment fee, wouldn’t that have been a nice gesture to tell me about considering I did use Angie’s List to call this place? [UPDATE] The company called me right away the next day and did refund my $78 for the issues I experienced. They said that the issue was a miscommunication on their end. They apologized for the miscommunication and were very polite about the refund.

Carlos, the owner was incredible to deal with! Air Systems had my new Trane system installed within just a few hours! Carlos was very knowledgeable about the Trane model I was interested in, and even suggested the lower/cheaper model with similar specs (no upselling!!!). I reached out to the top 5 AC places in San Antonio for quotes on a complete Trane XV20i system installed. Air Systems beat the other quotes by an average of 5-6K dollars (10K dollars in some cases for the SAME SYSTEM!!) They took pictures of all the upstairs install work and made sure I was happy with every single step of the process. I'm very happy with the new system and can't WAIT to see my electric bill go down in the coming months. I can't thank you enough Air Systems for making things easy !!!

Technician Mike came out, diagnosed problem, checked on warranty coverage, ordered part and installed it. It was a smooth process and great result. My home is cool again!

Mike was our technician and was so pleasant and easy to deal with. He did a thorough check of our AC system and made one recommendation, but did not try to pressure us in any way to replace anything unnecessary. A couple of years ago we had been pressured by another company to replace our aging system. We called Air Systems after reading good reviews and they only did what was needed and saved us thousands of dollars. Our system has been running perfectly since then and they were back today for a maintenance check-up. I was nervous that Mike would find something major needing done, but he didn't. He cleaned out the drain pipe and only recommended a fan cleaning which we will have them do. We are going with their service plan which is a reasonable price of $156. for both AC and heating maintenance throughout the year.

Thorough rework and cleaning of the drain system

Always great to work with Air Systems--they are our go-to company for AC work. Reliable, trustworthy, easy to work with, and fair-priced. On this trip, they did our annual checkup and caught 2 minor problems that could have become major problems down the line. We recommend using Air Systems AND making sure you get an annual checkup on your system!

Technician Ruben arrived and attentively listened to my problem. Was very thorough with his checks to determine the cause of the problem. He was in no hurrry to leave and stayed to make sure the unit was running properly. Was very neat/organized with his work and explained what was happening. I’ve dealt with this company in the past and others. In my opinion they are the best in San Antonio. They will always get my business.

As always, the service was done in a complete and professional way. Air Systems installed our system five years ago and we have had them come back each year to provide maintenance to keep our system clean and working well. The cost for this service includes a spring AC maintenance and a fall heating maintenance and is well worth their reasonable fee. I would certainly recommend them for all heating and air conditioning service and repair.

We continue to use Air Systems for our HVAC preventative maintenance and repairs. We have been satisfied with their customer service and professionalism since day 1. Ruben performed our Fall HVAC PM this morning. He was punctual, professional, and friendly as always. I look forward to working with Air Systems (and Ruben) in the future.
