Air Systems was the second of three companies I asked to bid the work and their bid was significantly cheaper than the other companies, 40% cheaper than the high bid. All of the bids were higher than what I'd expected based on internet searching. All of the companies made the same diagnosis and offered bids for essentially the same services (though one company, not this company, also offered bids for system replacement). Ruben did the service work for both parts. He explained thoroughly what he was doing and why, though he had a junior assistant and I suspect much of that explanation was for the assistant's benefit. The existing capacitor was rated 70MFD. Ruben didn't have a replacement 70MFD capacitor on his truck but had a 30MFD and 40MFD, which he offered to wire together. I was initially skeptical but found internet discussions about doing this same thing. I would have preferred installation of the proper equipment, though this option seems to work. This was the only "negative" factor in my experience with Air Systems and the reason I rated them B for Quality. After the capacitor was replaced, Ruben tested the puron level and found it significantly low. He also identified a leak in the evaporator coil inside and said it needed to be replaced. Ruben's manager, Carlos, emailed me a bid for a replacement for the coil unit a couple of days later. After discussion with Carlos regarding the composition of the replacement coil (aluminum vs copper), I accepted Air Systems bid. Ruben came out a couple of days later and replaced the coil. He spent 3 hours pulling out the old coil, replacing and soldering the new coil and recharging puron. The air conditioner worked well after he was done.

Removal of old materials and replacement went well. Removed old material & cleaned up. Workmen very courteous & professional.

Service technician was very prompt and professional. In the end, he could not perform the service because warranty coverage on the house would not allow it. If the need arises, I would definitely use this company again.

The workers arrived on time as promised and got right to work inspecting and servicing all aspects of both of my A/C units. The inspections were very thorough. The technician kept me apprised of the inspection as he went and took time to provide additional explanation about parts i had questions and concerns about. I would definitely use them again.

It went fantastic! Both Rick and David did a great job and were very friendly and professional. They cleaned up all the debris and left my inside ac/htg "closet" looking very neat and tidy (no loose hanging electrical wires, etc. like my old system had!) Carlos, the owner, had presented me with several options/prices that I could go with that would fit into my limited ac/htg "closet". Carlos also e-mailed me a detailed list of what work would be covered. He explained the 10 year warranty that included parts and labor and I understood that I must maintain the units with twice yearly check-ups to keep the warranty in good standing. Carlos also submited the CPS rebate form for me (I should get $480 off my CPS bill and the CPS website shows I should qualify for a $300 federal tax credit for 2013). Carlos also will register my units for the Trane warranty on the Trane website. Also, while David was in the attic checking my duct work he found out my new 3 year old gas hot water heater was venting into my attic due to an improper installation connection. He took a picture on his phone and showed it to me so I could call a repairman right away. Both David and Carlos, while in my attic, pointed out some other issues that my original builder had done incorrectly so I would know about it. I greatly appreciated that! For twelve years I had been using another AC/HTG company (big company that covers SA and Austin) but I sometimes had the feeling I was being taken advantage of. After looking at Angie's List comments for Air Systems I decided to try them. They are now my new AC/HTG company and I will be using them for my twice yearly check-ups. I feel they are very straight forward, friendly and honest professional guys that do QUALITY work. I have already told my next door neighbor about them! And I am excited about my new high efficiency Trane system (the outside compressor unit is definitely quieter than my old unit)!

We obtained bids from two companies, Air Systems Inc. and the company which currently had our service contract. Air Systems employees stood out in all aspects of the analysis and bidding process. They were clearly more thorough in examining our current systems and duct work. Their explanations of the problems and repair alternatives were far superior. They showed us exactly why the existing duct work was inadequate to service the master suite. The work was accomplished over a two day period. The owner, Carlos Jimenez, and his employee, Rich, delivered the major replacement components, and Rich replace the outdoor unit on the first day. Rich and Dave installed the indoor unit and upgraded the duct work on day two. Ruben came in to replace the thermostat. The four of them were very respectful of our home. They kept everything neat and cleaned up as work progressed. For the first time since we had this home built, the heating and a/c delivery to the master suite is just as it should be. Air Systems Inc. is an outstanding, professional company.

Originally came out as a second opinion after another Angie's List contractor had condemend my two heating units as unsafe. Rick inspected my units which had both failed after the coldest day of the year (Jan.4th).He spent approximatly 3 hours trouble shooting the systems. After that time, he came down and told me that he could get the main heating system to function intermittently and would speak with his supervisor, Carlos, about what he would consider for the ultimate repair. On Monday the 7th of January I recieved both a phone call and an e-mail cost from Carlos, for replacing the defective boards, or if I so chose, a price to replace both furnace systems. Carlos also stated that the technician, Rick, told him that my systems appeared very clean and felt that the board replacement would be sufficent. He also told me that if the new control boards did not fix my problem, I would not have to pay for them. The bords had to be ordered from Trane. Rick returned on1/14/13 to install both boards. After installation it was determined that one of the gas valves needed replacement, also. The job was finished to my satisfaction on 1/15/13 after an inspection by Carlos, the invoice was paid. Both heaters have preformed extremely well since that date. They preformed will from Rick always showing up on time with his booties to the final follow up. I will use them in the future for my HVAC needs.

Fantastic company! The only issue I had was in the scheduling process, and that was ONLY because of me. I am unable to have a cell phone on me while working so we were playing phone tag for a few days before I could get my appointment scheduled, but the folks at Air Systems were incredibly flexible and made every effort to contact me when I was available. I actually ended up being able to schedule my appointment after their office hours because they made themselves available to me. The service technician was incredibly professional, very friendly, and did what he was supposed to in an efficient manner. He installed a cap that I needed and showed me some preventative maintenance I could/should do to ensure mold does not grow. Overall, I was incredibly happy with the service from start to finish.

Air Systems did an outstanding job from start to finish and I highly recommend this company for your HVAC needs. Carlos and his installation crew (Rick and David) were timely, thorough and professional throughout the process. These are the highlights of my experience. Estimate: I received 3 estimates to replace my existing HVAC systems and Air Systems came in at middle of the pack. The company with the lowest quote told me things that seemed too good to be true such as it only takes 3-4 hours for installation, a 2.5 ton system costs the same as a 5 ton and he tried to pressure me with "better act now" phone calls. On the other hand, Air Systems (Carlos) gave us three options of varying price, explained the specifications of each system and at no time did he ever try one of those tired sales gimmicks. Installation: The installation took place in two stages. Carlos had the outdoor unit installed earlier in the week since he did not require access inside the house and I would not have to take time off work (thank you!). The second stage was installation of the indoor unit. Carlos and the Air Systems crew were scheduled for 8 AM but arrived early to pull everything they needed from the truck so they were ready to being work right on time; impressive. Before work began, drop clothes were laid down so as to prevent damage to the carpet or floors. Whenever I poked my head into the attic I was welcomed over and showed what they were doing and what still needed to be accomplished. They finished around 4 PM and, considering all the work it takes to install an HVAC system, the previously mentioned company's estimate of 3 hours was ridiculous. Quality control: a. The new thermostat was smaller than the old one and exposed a portion of the wall that was not painted. Carlos asked me if I had some touch up paint (I did) and he repainted the exposed portion of the wall to match. b. The gas was shut off as part of the install and David relit the pilot light for our water heater. c. Air Systems work was inspected and passed by the CPS representative who stated "They did good work". Air Systems also completed and filed the paperwork required for the CPS rebate ($800) and provided me the document I need to file for the Federal tax credit ($300). Communications: Carlos was proactive in his communications with me. Not once did I have to call him for status. Summary: These guys are great! I highly recommend Air Systems for your HVAC needs based on their honesty, timeliness, professionalism and quality of work.
