AIR SYSTEMS A/C, HEATING AND REFRIGERATION

Holiday weekend but company still had someone answering their phone. I received a call back very quickly. The service person came out on a Sunday but the AC was going to need a replacement part. He came back early Monday morning after locating the part via AC company and had the AC running very quickly. The was also one of the Texas over 100 weekends. Service person was very polite and professional. I would use this company again even thought they are further away and will require a higher travel fee.

After having several problems with our A/C we called Air Systems. I found them on Angie's list and they came out right away. Our A/C system was about 17 years old and needed to be replaced. We called several other companies to get bids but Air Systems was the most reasonable. Carlos gave us a detailed bid right away. When the system was installed Rick and David did an excellent job. Each day they showed up early and worked late. They were very professional and polite. They went above and beyond for us and we are very appreciative. They took all of the old system and picked up after themselves everyday and never left any mess. We have already referred them to friends that were very happy with their work as well!

Once again, prior to finding Air Systems on Angie's list, I had never heard of them. From the great reviews I decided to use their services. I had my HVAC units inspected and I determained that two of the three units needed to be replaced (each were original to the home, 1997). Carlos had a written estimate for me, with several options, the next day. There was no pressure for me to do anything. I called and asked when they could start. I am sure there are several installers that work for Air Systems, but I must have gotten their best. Rick worked straight through until each job was finished. His workmanship was that of an airframe/powerplant mechanic licensed by the FAA, seriously, the work doesn't get any better than I received. I can't imagine why anyone would use anyone else for HVAC replacement. The whole experience was outstanding.

Our A/C went out last night at about 1030pm. After the hottest day of the year. The house was sweltering. Knowing it was going to be almost impossible to get someone out on a Sunday, I tried Air Systems on a friends recommendation. After reading their angie's list page, I decided to do it. Best decision I've made in regards to my A/C care. I will be using them exclusively from this point forward. I had become disappointed with a couple of other companies I had used based solely on Angie's List who did a poor job(reviews coming soon) so this was a great surprise. It was pricey, but when you are sweating in bed and it's a Sunday, you gotta pay the piper. I'm hoping I can still use their coupon at a later date as this was kind of an emergency call.

Excellent - on time, very through & quick.

Carlos and his team were professional, punctual and willing to work with us when things did not go exactly as planned. They provided excellent service and the gentlemen they sent to do the work were wonderful. It was not an easy job - much of it under our home and with space constraints. They also took the time to keep things as clean as possible. I would use them again in a heartbeat.

I found Air Systems to be a well qualified and professional business on whom I will continue to rely for my home heating and air conditioning needs. Mr. Carlos Jimenez, General Manager, provided me with heat load calculations to confirm the size of the air conditioning unit we needed. He recommended a range of replacement equipment and options to choose from that included repair of the existing system and several replacement options with varying energy efficiencies. Mr. Jimenez annotated his proposal with Federal tax credit and City Public Service rebate information to demonstrate their effect on offsetting the up front cost. He followed up his proposal with a discussion during which he answered my questions with direct and informative answers that lead to my selection of new equipment that meets my needs. He personally inspected the work of his technicians and obtained all needed city building permits and city inspections. Air Systems conducted the work according to a timely schedule they provided to me in advance. I am an engineer by trade and found the work and materials provided by Air Systems to be of excellent quality. Air Systems provided needed information to San Antonio City Public Services for me to qualify for a $900.00 rebate (which shows up as a credit on my CPS bill). Air Systems also provided to me the needed documentation to support claiming an energy tax credit on my next IRS tax return. Service went very well, the service, Dave, showed up on time. he was efficient and cleaned after him self. Great job!

They did a very good job with the repairs and cleaning up afterward. They were professional and courteous. However I did not llike the fact that even though I had a coupon for $65, they refused to honor it. They said that it wasn't good after normal working hours. I did call early that morning and they did not get here until 7:30pm so I don't consider that my fault. Also there was no such restriction on the coupon.

David was great, explained in detail what the issue was and how he suggested correcting. Very thorough & professional.

I was surprised my A/C was not cooling as it was only 2 years old. I did not get any other estimates. The diagnostic charge was applied to the repair. The expansion value was broken and fortunately was under warranty, but the labor was not. Once they got the part in, they were able to come back out the next day to repair it. He also found that there was a leak at the evaporator and freon was leaking out. He repaired that also and added more freon. He cleaned up the area after the repairs. I asked about something on the wall near the vent and he didn't know what it was. After he left, I realized it was sout from the welding and there were pieces all over the living room. Otherwise, everything went fine. My A/C is cooling and working well.

I paid for the spring/winter check as it was more economical. While Rick and Mark were cleaning the outside unit, they noticed my garden hose was spraying everywhere and they put in a washer for me! I was so impressed as that wasn't really part of their job. I had the washers, but I was not able to get the hose off. This small effort was over and beyond my expectations!

When the repairman arrived, he inspected the unit and found the problem. He then explained what was needed, would get us an estimate and above all, would be able to repair it the same day (we had 90 deg. weather). We accepted the price and he was able to complete the job the same day. I have used this company before and found them to be reliable. As to the cost of the job, since this was an emergency I did not have time to get estimates from other companies/

They showed up on time, diagnosed and fixed our issue with minimum fuss, and all at a reasonable price. It turned out our HVAC system was originally installed in what can only be described as a haphazard fashion, probably with time and budget constraints (the home was built during that construction orgy around 2005-2007). In any event, the fix was simply switching to output ducts around on the cooling unit so that the room that was having issues got the majority of cool air. Simple fix, and it worked.

Rubin, the technician, called to let me know he was on his way and he arrived on time. Rubin put on his shoe covers and came into the house. My phone was ringing so I went to answer it , and it was Rubin. He had called me when he put his phone into his blue jean pants pocket. Rubin turned the a/c system down to keep it running while he checked the inside system. Rubin ran a gas through the drip line to make sure it was open. Rubin then checked the current draw ond looked at the blower wheel. Rubin said it was very dirty and suggested a cleaning for something like $221. Rubin gave me his flashlight so I could see. The fins were almost all clean. I declined the cleaning. Rubin took a picture of the fins. I asked if he could send me a copy of the picture. Rubin said he would try. I said there was a difference between trying and doing. Rubin said he was not to technical about his camera and would ask someone to help him. He never asked for my e-mail. Rubin checked the outside unit and said the freon was good and the capacitors were fine. Rubin asked to borrow my water hose to rinse the unit. Rubin was rinsing the coils from the outside-in by spraying the little vents in the outside unit. Rubin said you don't have to rinse the coils from the inside-out unless the unit has a lot of animal hair or leaves in it. I asked Rubin when I should call for the fall cleaning and he said late August or the first of September. I said should it not be just before winter? Rubin said the first of November would be better. I asked Rubin to put the freon pressures on the invoice so that the next technican would have a history. Rubin said they don't normally do that , but that he would. I paid Rubin and he left. I checked the inside a/c and Rubin had left it turned down so it would keep running while he worked. I put it back to its normal position. I picked Air Systems because of thier rating on Angies List. I do not trust Rubin. I will ask for a different techican on the Fall check up. I have since looked on Angies List to see what other a/c companies preform on there maintainence programs. Just look at Tex-Perts A/C program. This is the first Angies List referral that I have not liked. I will try Tex-Perts once this prepaid contract is over. Tim UPDATE 5/22/2013 The owner Carlos called me to see what happened and why I rated his company so low. Carlos wanted to come out that day and bring a different technician and do the job over. They showed up around 5:00 PM and came into the house. What a difference! Rick, the new technician was excellent. Rick went to work with a great deal of confidence. Rick started on the inside air handler and found a large old moldy envelope holding installation instructions in the right hand side blocking air flow to the blower. Rick did find light accumulation of dirt on the blower wheel and he recleaned the drain line. Rick checked all the wiring and loads and everything checked out just fine. All three of us then went out to check the outside unit. We found two capacitors that needed to be replaced. Carlos even let me have one for free. Then they cleaned the coil from the inside -out and put everything back together. They both were very professional. I am scheduling some additional work with Carlos due to poor air flow to my back two bedrooms. I feel very comfortable with both Rick and Carlos. It is a shame to have gotten off to a bad start with Air Systems. Carlos will send Rick for future service. I did not rate Air Systems an A, because how do you blend a D- with an A+. My AC unit was not cooling. I decided to call Air Systems after seeing good reviews about them on Angie's List. I was advised by the repairman that my AC unit's motor was stuck in a frozen position. He was able to get the motor runing again, however, he indicated that the motor may have a bad bearing seal and advised me to call the office to get pricing on a new motor. The repairman was knowledgeable and courteous. I also found the service charge to be reasonable.

Showed up on time, quick diagnose and fix, professional. Reasonably priced.

Very thorough and expert services. All recommended services performed.

High summary - will different use this service again.
