They determined the cause was low refrigerant. They only charged me regular pricing for a service call and the refrigerant that was used. Didn't charge extra fees although they were there within 1 hour.

I love these guys. Been using them for years. Always ready and able to help. The replacement of the GPS unit was accomplished the same day, even though the service man didn't have a unit in his truck when he came to do my spring servicing. Several options were offered to me on the GPS replacement, and I chose the one that best fitted my needs. Service people are always prompt and efficient. I can't speak highly enough about the staff from the appointment lady to anyone who's ever been at my house. I've used them since approximately 1995 and will continue to do so.

The unit continued to have issues but they came back out and fixed it without charging us again. The technician was friendly and helpful.

I liked their professional manner when we looked at the different types of equipment options based on the in-home inspection of the property. Their approach has been very professional concerning the details, recommendations and options they have presented. They are very good at different price points; asking what your budget is and then basing that determination on the options they give. They were good with that and the details of what the work scope would be and what it included and what it did not. If it did not include something they said we could do it for specific money as option costs. I knew exactly what I was getting, that's what I liked about that experience. When it came to the actual proposal that they presented me, I liked that. I also like the idea that they are only about 10 minutes away from my home so the proximity was good. After that they have come just twice to the house in response to some questioning that we had to do. They responded quickly so they have been a good provider. Based on the quality of work they do their price was fair and they are punctual. I would say that they are the lowest cost option because my decision was based on the clarity of their proposal and the professionalism of how they conducted the work. When they were in the home they were professional and told me exactly what they were doing. It was good and worked very well.

He was prompt and very nice. He fixed only what needed to be fixed, didn't even discuss extra options to beef up sales.

Air Star performs our regular maintenance work on our a/c unit, both in and outside the home. They are very professional and prompt.

The workers were all professional and installation was clean and smooth.

It has been about 5 years since I used Air Star, so can't give them a current rating, but I felt they did a good job in the past. I stopped using them because I now use a friend that has his own heating/cooling business.

29 I have to say this has not been pleasant dealing with Airstar. In my opinion, they are cutting corners. I just want the job done right the first time. And not calling me back and informing me of their plans is very unprofessional.

I bought a new AC/Heating unit from Air Star in November 2010. When the unit was serviced this spring, the technician examined the filter and said it looked good but would need to be washed/cleaned in about a month. He did not offer to wash and re-install it, but he did show me how to take it out and put it back in the unit. After he left, I wished I had asked him to do it for me because the location of the filter makes it difficult to remove and replace. I own a second condo in the same complex where I live, but I have it leased out. I have employed a different Angie's list company to service the AC/Heating unit in that condo. I feel that the technician from that company did a more thorough job -- and for less money -- than the one from Air Star, so I am considering switching to that company for my home unit when my current contract with Air Star expires.

They come, fix it, go away, and it doesn't break for a long time. Their service is one of the best I have ever dealt with.

David called when he was about 30-40 minutes away, and arrived when he said he would. He was neatly dressed in clean slacks and a company work shirt, with his name on it. I told him that the system was not cooling, and we ruled out the thermostat, since it appeared to be switching the system on okay. At the outside unit, David checked a couple of parts on the startup circuit, and pointed out that they might need replacement soon, as they were aging. He then checked the refrigerant level, and found that it was very low. We talked about the system, and he suspected that there might be a leak. After spending a considerable amount of time in the furnace closet looking for leaks with a "sniffer", he determined that if we DID have a leak, it was either hidden inside the walls, or very small. He charged the system up, and checked for leaks again, finding none. David mentioned that he could later add a dye to check for leaks, or even add a leak sealant into the system, if there were further problems. We talked about the quality, age, and performance of the system in general, and I also asked about the semi-permanent air filter that was built in to the bottom of the air handler. David suggested that we could replace that with return air grille filter kits at each of our two return grilles, and get better performance overall, since the fan would be working through less friction or static pressure. I had already come up with that idea when we first moved into the house a year ago, and I was pleased that someone else also thought it was a good idea! David was at our house for two hours, total, and when he presented the bill, I had a little sticker shock, since I was expecting a lot less. But, considering the cost of the 4 lbs. of refrigerant he used, minus the discount he gave us for signing up for the service contract, PLUS the cost of the annual contract itself, the overall price was reasonable. I would recommend this company, and look forward to their next contract checkup in a few weeks.

I'm using a different company now. The ultra violet thing was around $500 and it was probably a foolish purchase. They were prompt and good. I used them 3 or 4 times. I would use them again.

Great -as always - I have used Air Star for 15 years and trust them and their work. I decided to have so much work done - because it was needed and to take advantage of the rebates and tax credit. Air-Star arrives on time and works until the job is done. My ceiling developed a couple of cracks due to all the guys moving around in the attic. Air Star was quick to get someone out to repair. My house is now evenly heated and cooled, and my bills are lower. I believe you will like the service that Air Star provides. The technicians are friendly and will call if they are running late....

They are flexible about the appointments and come on time. They are also very responsive to my needs and make themselves available whenever I need them. I never had any problems with them.

Air Star Heating and Air Conditioning did a great job. The worker seemed knowledgeable and was kind. They did not try to overcharge or take advantage of me. They got right to work. They explained everything to me. They were trustworthy. They were great all around.
