We had a very positive experience! Air Care provided some of the best customer service I've ever had! They made themselves available to help us in any way possible. They offered to install a temporary AC unit in the home to take the edge off the heat until their crew was able to get over here to install the new unit. They also offered to review other quotes we'd received from other companies to help clarify any uncertainties we may have had and help us make a decision. Their crew came out for the install as quickly as they could. They were very respectful, professional, and hard working. They made a very great impression. Management stopped by throughout the day for quality control. They kept me informed and up-to-date on their progress throughout the day and asked for my input/preference when certain unforeseen issues arose. They're definitely upfront, honest people, who you can tell don't try to sweep anything under the rug or cut corners on anything. They take their time and do the work well. Later in the evening, long after their crew was finished and had left, they contacted me again, just to make sure that the unit was working well and that I was satisfied and didn't have any other requests or questions about anything. I had a wonderful experience. They weren't the cheapest option that we had but their customer service is hard to argue with. My advise is to use Air Care for your AC needs. You won't regret it. They're a great company that obviously values quality over quantity.
Description of Work: We needed a full AC unit replacement.

They’ve been my provider for a while. We are going to continue using them.
Description of Work: I’ve had an A/C replaced by someone we had just bought this home and the heating was going out and so we had to get it replaced and the person that did the replacement of our whole unit, the A/C and the heating, did not do a good job on the duct work in the attic and the city did not approve it so we called Air Care. They came out and fixed the duct work that had not been put in properly and since then, we continue using their services.

They’ve been my provider for a while. We are going to continue using them.
Description of Work: For heating and A/C, I’ve used Air Care Home Solutions Air Conditioning. The last time I used them, they did a complete changeover of my A/C and heating because our A/C went out completely and it was an old system so we were going to need a new A/C so we just decided to replace the whole system.

We've been pleased with them sever since. Oh A, every time I use them. I can remember our air conditioner wasn't cooling and he had a very hot day so boy they were here right away for us. Their pricing is very fair. They usually give us a window and they come within that window of time.

Had scheduled install for a week out. 1 day later called and could do it next day.(our system is in attic) since it was to be cool. They arrived at 7 as scheduled. Very professional team. They worked efficiently and were totally finished by 1:30. This included instructions on using thermostat and they also sealed around two vents in Familyroom that looked as if they were leaking. A side note: when salesman quoted unit he immediately stated that they would have to remove attic door, opening was much to small. This was $250 and was done by very good carpenters. Since they were taking out 40 yo door we requested a new one which the carpenters picked up for us. We didn't have to take care of anything. I will be using these guys again and recommending them to my friends.

We contacted Air Care about 6 months ago to have them service the furnace in my greenhouse. Ken Jackson serviced the system and was so professional that we decided to get a bid for the semi annual service of our 3 HVAC systems. The bid was for less than the maintenance contract that we had had for the last 10 years, and Air Care declined to sell a service contract, explaining that they only wanted to charge for work they actually did. Mr. Jackson came out for the Spring service and did a much more thorough and professional job than we had ever had before. He made a suggestion for an inexpensive addition to the systems to insure that any future clog would not cause an overflow to our attic (and consequent damage to our ceiling). We agreed and Mr. Jackson came out last week to attend to this detail. We cannot say enough good things about this firm. Mr. Jackson is always prompt, he calls before he comes, and he always wears coverings for his shoes to keep dirt and debris from the house. Mr. Jackson is very courteous, and works quickly to finish his work so that my wife is not required to spend all day waiting. We highly recommend this firm.
Description of Work: We have employed the provider 3 times now and have engaged them to do our semi annual service on our 3 HVAC systems.

Response from Air Care & Canyon Lake Air Conditioning, Inc.
Mr [removed member name]was quoted the price prior to any installation & agreed to have the work completed at a total of $404.95. Our technician did provide options of a basic thermostat or a programmable touch screen. Since the other two thermostats in the home were touch screen he chose the thermostat that was $350.00. This price does include a programmable touch screen Trane thermostat, labor for installing the thermostat, and a one year parts & labor warranty. We carry multiple thermostats on all service vehicles and this is the thermostat that Mr [removed member name]chose to be installed. We carry top of the line brands that we trust in and are able to give the best service around due to our high level of expertise. Our licensed technicians have many years of experience and all attend year round continuing education to stay up to date with the latest technology. Mr [removed member name]could have chosen to go to a store of his choice to purchase a thermostat & install it himself. He then would have been required to only pay only a diagnostic fee of $54.95. However, he did request to have us make necessary repairs by our licensed technician who had the thermostat ready and available at the time of service. Our technicians are available 7 days a week and 365 days a year. We do charge a $54.95 diagnostic fee on every call and we will always provide a quote prior to making any repairs.

The home owner told the tech that his son tried to clean coil which ended up damaged. We did not charge for consult. Recommended new coil because coil was to damaged to clean and we did not want to waste there money when it would not have improved performance. We considered the best option that would not continue to have problems with the performance would be to replace the coil and we provided an estimate. We have been in business since 1974 and will continue to provide answers to problems for customers. Sometimes the answer might not be what the customer wants - as in providing bad news about the problem but we have to be honest and give the customer an honest assessment how to fix the situation. Some fixed can be costly but it will take care of the problem.

My A/C system died after 17 years. My house has an upstairs that never cooled and was 10 degrees hotter than downstairs. Some of my ducts had holes that I didn't know about so the A/C was not going through the house very well. I called Air Care in San Antonio, TX and they responded on the same day. Rather than fix an old system - again - I opted for an energy efficient new system. The gentleman went through a book showing me all the different options I could choose with costs and rebates. The installers came out 2-days later, (due to having to order a part). It was an all day installation outside and in the house. They installed an emergency off switch next to the A/C unit on the outside wall of the house. Just perfect. I hated having to lift the panels on the furnace to get to the filter and usually cut my fingers. I'm getting too old to lift those nasty things. I mentioned it to the installers and they fixed a vent in the wall so I could open it and easily insert air filters. The A/C was quite powerful and they realized they needed to install another vent. They also noted that the A/C closet was freezing cold and air was flowing like ice. They came back and checked my ducts and found holes. They cut a section out of the ceiling and plastered and taped the holes. It was totally amazing the difference in the air flow through the house. I have air flow in the upstairs bedrooms. I have never had air flow up there. They installed a digital thermostat that I just love. The rebates are amazing. TRANE and CPS Energy both gave me great rebates and I get to use it for tax purposes as well. The ladies from the Air Care office took care of all the paperwork to get the rebates for me and that was a really fast turnaround. They actually came to me instead of making me come to them. I needed to call the office a couple of times with questions and they were very friendly, helpful, and professional. The installers were terrific guys. Very friendly and professional. They explained everything. What a great company and my A/C system is great. I would go to them in a heartbeat and I highly recommend them.

Not well. While I liked the salesman, Comfort Air was much higher in price, told me I needed a larger unit than was necessary, and never called back to schedule the install. Comfort Air had originally installed the hvac system in the house when it was new and I have had nothing but problems since the first time I tried to turn on both the air conditioner and also the heat. Because of this, I wasn't too upset that the salesman didn't call back to schedule. When I got much less expensive pricing, I decided to go with someone else.
Description of Work: I asked Home Depot for a bid on replacing my hvac unit. They sent Comfort Air. They came to my house and showed me the different units and prices in a notebook. They explained the tax credits/rebates. Because Comfort Air was the company that had originally installed the units in my home, the salesman said he would call back and verify the size, he thought by looking at it that it was a 3 ton unit. He called and left a message the next day saying it was 3 tons. In fact, a different company had come out, removed the exterior from the unit and upon looking at the compressor volunteered that it was a 2.5 ton unit, so I knew right away Comfort Air was trying to sell a larger unit. He also didn't leave any paperwork or call back to schedule the work.

Air Care and Canyon Lake Air Conditioning, Inc. have replaced both heat pumps over the years. The last one was $10,000. They do the maintenance as well as the installation. They are pretty responsive, and professional. They come out in a truck with signs painted on it and they guys wear uniforms with the logo on them. Over the years we've had the same technician, a fellow named Randy. We've been here 13 years and I guess we've used him the whole time. And the previous owners used him before that. They are a Train dealer. That is primarily who they market is Train air conditioners. I could probably find people who are a little cheaper, but you get what you pay for.

,They serviced the unit on 12-5-12, and gave me the price for the seal job, which was 1/2 the price quoted on the Spring 2012 service call back in May. The 2 reps arrived promptly early in the 2 hr time frame and did the job promptly . So Far, it seems to ave reduced the dust. The reps Trent and Preston appeared knowledgeable about their business, and were courteous and prompt.
Description of Work: Sealed off the bottom of the closet under the unit filter and blower at the air return grills, which are on a wall corner, to mitigate the dust problem. One opinion was dust was being sucked by the blower from the attic down a side wall which was not completely sealed down to the concrete base. You could see the insulation flapping in the wall opening when the blower was on.

Randy was able to get the brackets locally and was back out in the afternoon to replace them. It took him about one hour to do this after we got the power shut off to the heater. The old brackets were all cracked and one was completely broken. Now the fan is very quiet and you can't even tell when it starts or stops. Much better, and I don't have to worry about it breaking on the coldest night of the year, or the hottest day of the summer.
Description of Work: The brackets holding the blower motor had cracked over the years and were causing some fairly significant noise when the AC and heater fan started. Once the brackets broke completely, the motor could fall and it would make a mess in the blower housing. They needed to be replaced. We discovered this during the winter heater service and inspection.

I have used Canyon Lake Air Conditioning (the Canyon Lake Office on FM 2673) on several occassions. They have been prompt, diagnosed my problems quickly and accurately and been reasonable in price. The technicians have been polite and personable. I will definitley be using them in the future
Description of Work: My most recent encounter with Canyon Lake Air occurred when on a cold day our heat quit working. I called after 5 and a technician was there early the next morning....I was asked if it was an emergency and I said "No." A breaker was the immediate problem, but after helping me put in a new breaker (the old one was installed by another company 20 years ago) the breaker again flipped. It was discovered that one of the compressors had gone bad. By the next afternoon I had a new compressor and a working heat pump, and they were able to track down my warrenty to pay for it.

Overall, very well and I will call them again for any Heating and A/C issues. Thank you.
Description of Work: I used their website late Thursday night to submit my issue and they called me first thing Friday morning. They said their tech would be there between and 10 & 11AM and he was at my door at 10. Their tech checked my entire system and was able to diagnose the problem, a bad 220 circuit breaker. He did not have the part, but was able to get it later that day and install it while I was away from my house, which we had arranged for prior to his leaving. The system worked as it should. Their tech did accidently loosen a 220 wire from another system, which left us without our bedroom AC for the evening, but they promptly came back on the next day and fixed it.

I was very impressed that Air Care was out to assess my problem with the failed air handler unit on a Friday and available to install the new unit the following Saturday morning. They came out promptly as scheduled at 0800 on Saturday morning right and installed the new unit. The installers were professional, courteous, and cleaned up after themselves and even hauled away my new unit for me. I was also impressed by the Air Care’s honesty, because they didn’t try to sell me a complete system. They told me up front that I could use my old Carrier compressor with my new Trane air handler unit and that both units would be compatible (this saved me a considerable sum of money). I did take their advice and go with a variable speed air handler motor in the unit for reduction of operating noise, energy efficiency, and regulating humidity better in the house. I paid a little more for this unit , but feel in the long run I will have a better system. Air Care really exceeded my expectations and I intend to use them in the future for my regular maintenance of the units. I like their honesty, responsivness, follow-up, and overall attention to customer service. I will definetly reccomend them to my friends and neighbors.
Description of Work: I purchased my home new about four years ago and experienced coil failures on both attic air handler units (I have a two-story house and have a unit for the downstairs and one on the upstairs) . Both units that came with the house were made by Carrier . The downstairs unit air handler coil started leaking last summer and had to be replaced. At that time, I was using Airtron for my HAVC service provider. The unit was still under a parts warranty with Carrier, so I had to pay the installation charge for the new coil ($1,350.00), which I felt was excessive for a coil that was less than three years old. I also decided to install a whole house air filtration unit on both air handler units with U/V lights (U/V lights are a big waste of money). When the second coil failed in the later part of June 2012, I decided it was time to look elsewhere ( I was fed up with Carrier products and Airtron) so I contacted Shafer Services and they recommended that I contact Air Care & Canyon Lake Air Conditioning – I am extremely happy that I did. The Air Care Technician came out and assessed the situation and it turns out that the reason why both my coils had failed was due to formicary coil corrosion caused by contaminants in the air that collect onto the condensation that forms on indoor coils during a cooling cycle. These contaminants turn into acids when they are exposed to the moisture, etching the copper of the coils in a manner that looks like tunnels in an ant farm. Eventually, these etched areas of the copper become thin enough to start leaking as the copper becomes so thin that it becomes porous. I decided to replace my old air handler unit with a Trane Hyperion varible speed all-aluminum coil, which is exponentially more durable than standard copper coils that are susceptible to formicary corrosion. I had a Trane system in my previous home in Arizona and I am sold on Tranes durability, reliability, and warrenty.

Air Care was highly recommended by a friend. I had looked at positive reviews on Angie's List and also checked with BBB.Technician was about 30 minutes late but went right to work checking first the attic and then outside. The capacitor was blown and this was evident by it's shape. Once that was replaced, the unit was turned on but the fan did not start. RJ thought it might be due to capacitor issue causing the motor to overheat and we waited several minutes for the motor to cool. It still did not turn on. Rather than off to replace the $500 motor, RJ ran the garden hose over it to further cool it and the motor then started up.

If they say I need something, I know I do. I never bother to get a second opinion. If more companies ran this way, we wouldn't need BBB, government reporting agencies or Angie's list.
