ACL Painting

The Angie's List Big Deal that ACL was offering was very good. The owner also gave me a good price on the remaining square footage. The workers and their boss were all very polite and the value for the job was very good. They painted about 2500 square feet of interior walls, including two stairwells. No doors, molding or ceilings. I did have to touch up some places that were missed after they finished. (a section behind an interior door, one over a window, and a few "holidays" in a stair well) I had not noticed several missed spots due to the fact that I had various other contractors working on the site and so I was not as thorough in my walk through. I am sure it was distracting for them to have other jobs going on around them, also. So I just did the touch-ups myself after the house was empty of workers. Had I not had so much going on, and so many different workers in the house at the time it was being painted, those spots probably would not have been missed by them. The crew did a good job at cleaning up after themselves, and there were no issues with messy paint or inadequate taping. I was satisfied with the job and in particular the value of the service. The only other criticism is that I was asked for a sum of money in addition to the pre-paid Angie's List Deal before the painting began. They came and collected the additional funds but did not start painting until the next day. If they had started the day they collected, they could have finished up before the other work crews were on the sight. Not the most professional course of action but not a deal breaker. I would use them again because of their good price point .

Scheduling initially was quick. I moved all my furniture so they could paint and they never showed up. He had written down a different day so it was a misunderstanding between the two of us. Once we rescheduled he showed up on time. The actual service turned out fine.

Michael worked really hard to get us an estimate of the work we needed. Unfortunately we didn't have enough budget to cover the work we wanted, but if we had the needed funds we definitely would have hired him!

Overall, Not great service or job. I had to file a complaint with Angies list for Michael to actually orespond to my complaints that it was not finished and that job was poor with paint marks and missed spots. I filed a complaint after a month of trying to get Micheal to respond. He finally did respond and finally sent his painters back out to finish job and fix the problems. The painters did fix issues. Because of the poor communication with Michael and performance of painters on original job, I do not recommend them. I originally, reviewed and rated F in all catagories. I am changing my rating to D because they finally came back to finish and fix.

Michael came over and gave us a estimate that was very reasonable. We agreed on the project and it was started the next day, which was a saturday. His crew patched many cracks in our ceilings and then painted the ceilings and walls to a 1600 sqft house in 3 days with trim. Minor touchups were needed and they responded very promptly and professionally. Looking forward to hiring them to paint the exterior of the house in the near future.

Painter was excellent, courteous and professional. He covered all the holes in the walls before proceeding to paint. Also was careful not get paint on anything in the room to include door frames, closet doors.

I purchased a Big Deal for exterior painting of 1,600 sq ft. After two appointment cancellations they came and looked at my house. About a week or so later I finally received a quote that was fairly vague and they wanted 175% more, in addition to what I had already paid. This seemed excessive and after asking three times for the square footage used to calculate the quote all I received was the run around. I wasted over a month dealing with this company.

ACL performed a great job painting the exterior of my home. The entire ACL team was pleasant to deal with. Mike provided the quote, completed the contract, and communicated on a regular basis with me until the job was started. Then, Ron Jr/Sr. took over and accomplished the paint job. The job was completed on time, with no problems, and Ron Jr/Sr. were also pleasant to do business with.

It was hard to hook up and get an appointment. They didn't call me, I called them and we met I think may be a month later or so and described what what needed and we went over that and then the painters started as agreed and they did a great job. It was an older home, they did a good job. It was our rent house and a big house and so they did a good job. There are some details though that they did not finish and getting them to come back and do them and they have not done that and the weather turned nasty on us I think that is why they had to hurry up to get it finished. And so because of that they overlooked a couple of things, not major things but they have not yet come back to take care of that. Two guys came out to paint and it took them about two weeks.

Their service was not as good as I wanted. It said two coats of paints and I purchased all the paint and everything and there is places that were still missed. And down the baseboard and around window silts it wasn't done very well. I actually had to call them because they didn't returned my calls the first couple of times. I got less than what I thought I paid for. He was working on the job and he had to leave and he said he will come back and then he didn't come back and he's like, well, I'm going to be late. They were very polite, they were very nice when they came over and just the work was not exactly what I expected it to be.

Our experience with ACL was much better than we've had in the past with other companies. Michael looked at our project and explained some details about what would be done, and he seemed very eager to please and ready to begin the job. We had some delays due to the weather, but the guys (Ron and Ron Jr.) showed up each day and got the exterior completed fairly quickly. We had a few touch-up issues, but everything was completed as requested. Overall, the experience went well, and I have recommended ACL painting so several neighbors.

The service was very good. They were able to start the work very quickly. The owner of the company originally came out to look at the work. They came out the next day to t start painting. They were very responsive to our scheduling. And they did a good job overall.

After I bought the big deal on the 10th of November 2013, about 7 days later I got and email from Angie's List inquiring whether I was contacted by ACL Painting of which I responded with my answer of no, and requested assistance for contact. The contractor called and left a message on my home phone of which I did not check and receive until four days later. The contractor came out Tuesday the 26th of November 2013 and did an estimate. He took my email address and cell phone number, and said he would send me the estimate. I called him 20 minutes later to tell him to include my deck in his estimate. He called me back and hour later and told me no problem he would get the estimate to me by weeks end. He called me Wednesday to assure me he was almost finished and quoted me a price to for a minor repair to siding and I should have the estimate by weeks end. I waited and checked my email every day until December 2, 2013.

My kitchen/dining room area needed the ceiling scraped and wallpaper removed before painting could be done. This was completed in less then two days and it looks fantastic. The bedroom has an accent wall that was a dark purple so that needed two coats. Plus they had to touch up the ceiling a little bit because some of the purple had gotten on the ceiling when it was painted before. They came and asked me how I wanted to handle it and they took care of it perfectly. I am excited about the next job at the dad's house. There are cracks above one door and a seam along the ceiling that has been there since the house was purchased. It will now be fixed. Call them and get your house painted. BE HAPPY

All work was completed to our satisfaction!! The job was completed on time even with a couple of modifications to the job along the way. I would use ACL again and recommend their work to others1

I was disappointed all the way around with the work and integrity of the company. The painting was sloppy, with paint left all over the doorknobs, light switches, AC filter, furniture, with wall paint on the baseboards and paint over-spray on the floors. The painting crew forgot to paint the all the baseboards, closet door and trim in one room and missed whole areas that happened to be behind doors or otherwise slightly out of plain sight. In addition to the careless work, the painters left a big mess in the bathtub, kitchen sink and bathroom sink where they apparently cleaned up their equipment. I asked the foreman to come in and finish the painting and clean up the mess and over-spray. Someone did come by and throw some paint on most of the missed areas (one thin coat, that acually looked worse than no paint at all), but made zero effort at cleaning anything. Michael Ramirez, who made the initial estimate for the work, promised to pay for the cleanup but never followed through on this promise. In case you think that such work must at least be pretty cheap, it wasn?t: Of the four estimates that I got for this job, ACL was the next highest. If want quality at a fair price, better look somewhere else.

I didn't expect the service to be completed immediately. In fact, I just asked that they contact me to discuss a date that would convenient for them. Never heard from them. I contacted them thru Angies list several days later when Angies List sent an email asking if I had heard from the provider. Then 2 weeks after the purchase, I emailed them again. I still have not heard from ACL Painting. I have since figured out that for some reason I was being sent Big Deal emails for San Antonio and I live in Austin. But, the fact remains, that I never received any communication from ACL Painting. I wish any of you who have purchased this Big Deal luck.

We had some issues playing phone tag for a couple of weeks but that was both our fault and he had to cancel once the day before our initial painting appointment because of an issue with the painter......that is why I gave them a C in responsiveness. Other than that I was very happy with the work. They were on time and finished very quickly and with great results. Mike gave me info on how to get his discount at Home Depot which is where I bought the paint. My $210 was just for labor. The paint was another $80. I will use them in the future and would recommend ACL.

Mr. Ramirez wanted to tack on an extra 425 dollars of work. We could not come to any agreement.

Amazing work done and I'd use them again in a heart beat. The quality of work executed was beyond my expectation.

Michael was very nice during the contacts we did have.

Mr. Ramirez was wonderful! They finished the job in less than a day. They painted a pretty big family room, hallway and 2 bedrooms. What a great job they did, it looks beautiful! Mr. Ramirez even took the time to let my 15 year old dog out in the backyard and then he played with my dog! I will be using this company again. Thank you ACL Painting, for being so great to work with!

They were professional and had great flexibility.

Bought a $99 deal for 200 sqft of painting. Overall, painting was okay. Cutting in of walls to ceiling and walls to baseboard was fair, but expected better. No filling of holes or fixing minor imperfections in the walls were included. Ended up filling nail holes after he finished, and repainting. Would use again only if I had time to watch them during the cut in.

They were great. The did a neat and thorough job and were very courteous and professional.
