My Story:I had made an 11:00 AM appointment for the Day of October 4th 2008. At about 11:45 I had heard no word from Ace Movers, I started making the calls, called a few times no answer - the answering machine didn't even have a name or indicating who it was. Well the owner, Jason, finally calls me back and says he will find out what is going on with the movers. He calls me back 15 or so minutes later saying the movers are finishing up their last job and should be about 20 or 30 minutes away. So that turns into an hour. I start making the phone calls again - He never would answer my call. He called me back and said the movers ended up having to do this other job and it will be another hour and a half!! I am nice person and say OK I will wait but I am not happy about this situation, So at this point he offers me a discount and says he will try and throw in another guy and not charge me taxes - so I am ok with this. That turns into 2 hours! I start making the call AGAIN! I am getting frustrated at this point Plus he Will Not call me back - I am thinking they have bailed out on me since it was closing in on 5:00. He finally calls me back - takes him about 45 minutes to do so. And says they are unloading the last items, a washer/dryer, they should be just another 15 or 20 minutes. I have waited this long why not wait just a little bit longer. Well ANOTHER hour goes by - so I made a call to another moving company and set up an appointment for first thing in the morning, extremely disappointed, I was really excited to be in my new home (MY very first home) Thinking I would have all day Saturday to set it up. I gather some of my belongings and plan to blow up an air mattress in the new house, since that is where everything is, beside all the large furniture. I am driving away from my apartment and I see a Big run-down truck pulling up, with a Huge hole in it....It is 6:30 by the time they arrive at my apartment.... The movers are tired, want to go home, as would I. So they handle my belongings like crap, drop my grandmothers table. Once we get over to the house, they want to try and take the fridge apart - because they didn't want to go around the side of the house to a large door. They also tried to take the door apart..... they eventually had to go around the the side. When it is all said and done with it is 9:30PM!! They then demand $225.00 cash. They said something about someone wallet being stolen and sitting on a bunch of checks.... Originally it was going to be $160.00 - that isn't including the discount Jason had promised me....
Description of Work: The services were terrible. First of all the movers were 7 hours late! They dropped my grandmother's table and tried to take all kinds of shortcuts Then on top of them being Super late they charge me almost double from what we had agreed! I want to try and stop other people from having to go through what I went through! I went and did some research on this company and apparently there are TONS and TONs of other people with the exact same story as mine! Something has got to be done about this company!
