The serviceman showed up on time and was extremely polite. He went straight to work and made sure I inspected all the work as he completed the job.

The communication between their handyman service people and their customer service was not very good at all. I had three different service men for one job and each time a new service man came they did not know what the job was. There was no good communication. I think I spent maybe $350. The price wasn’t what I was quoted, so I would grade them a ‘C’ on price. The work that they did was above average. It was fine. I would not use them again in the future.

When we first called Handyman Matters, the owner, Walter, made an appointment to survey the job so he would know what was required. We needed coating on one area of our church's roof applied to prevent water leakage. But then San Antonio got rain! So we had to wait about a week to set an appointment. Stephen came out to do the work. As I explained above it was a very satisfactory experience. Stephen arrived on time and performed what we asked him to.

l.Overall, an excellent experience. Fast, efficient, and thorough. No short cuts. Also friendly, even kind with my Mother and my dog Maxie. I was able to put the fans from Lowe's on the porch and he came around through my back gate to work on them so I didn't need to be home during my work day. One of the fans was missing a part so he put as much of it together as he could and then marked where the piece needed to go and also marked the directions clearly so I would know which step it was. He called me and let me know the situation. I was able to buy the part and finish the rest of the job with no problem.

Good results overall. We got the to-do list done and I'm satisfied. Our repair person was -unable to fix/find a bad outlet which will require an electrician, but we agreed that it will be best to follow-up via that route. Our person was on-time and was able to do the other 8 items on my list with good results.

Smooth overall. You may have to wait a couple of days for work to be scheduled. Not sure if there is a premium rate for emergency service

Izzy arrived early, looked everything over and gave an estimate, then set to work. He appeared to be very knowledgeable and professional. He explained everything. He wasted no time, worked efficiently, and was very pleasant to have around. He had to get a part and made an appointment to come back to finish the job. He was creative in solving a problem about placement of a hose reel and did a great job of installing it and making it secure in a precarious place. We were very happy with his work. The drawer still has some problems, but we know it was a difficult thing and he will come back to do the tweaking it needs. The office was easy to deal with.

Jose was terrific. He came on time to do the estimate as scheduled. Then he came promptly the day scheduled to start the work (he had to work around other workmen's schedules) and started right in. When he needed additinal supplies he went after them and returned promptly. (This was needed because we had anadditional problem come up after the estimate day so he couldn't know what was needed for that) He completed as much as he could the first day including regrouting one tub. The next day he came and finished all the work well before the time allotted in the bid. His work was excellent. He was very knowledgable in all the areas we asked him to work. We will deifintely call them again and ask for Jose.

I called Handyman Matters this morning because I needed to get some air flowing through my house until the broken A/C system could be repaired. It took a few hours before they could get a handyman to my home but Shannon quickly helped me fix the problem. I can now open and close the sliding glass door. He was very courteous and helpful and professional.

Service man came and first asked what was wrong, then immediately began taking care of the door. Getting it out, cleaning the dirt out, getting the rollers rolling again. I had no idea that they could get locked up that way! Then he cleaned the track and told me to not let it get that bad again. He also replaced a screw in the handle. He was here for about 1 1/2 hours and did a very good job!

The desk pull out portion closed was almost flush (~1 inch) with the desk top when they came in. The goal was for it to be flush. When they finished it has a larger gap -- (3-4 inches). If they couldn't fix it, they should have just left it.

I made the appointment almost a week in advance. Fifteen minutes after they were supposed to be there I called. They said they would check and call back. Fifteen minutes after that I called again. The started making excuses for why they never put it on their schedule. I told them to forget it.

The handyman, Jose, was a champ when it game to changing out ceiling fans. He changed out 6 ceiling fans (3 brand new ones and then moved two old ones, and change one downrod). They all operated properly after completion. I would have to say that I probably slowed down the work (they charge by the hour) because I did not have the rightsize downrods and one of the lamps on the fans was broken. We also did need a tv bracket mounted to an exterior wall for an LCD as well as wire fishing done, and he looked at the wall and didn't feel comfortable installing it. He was honest and said he didn't want the bracket and TV to fall down and he thought we would be better off with a specialist in home theater doing the mounting and running the wires thru the attic. To fix our door because it is not level, would be another 3 to 5 hour project and he recommended we call the office to establish another appointment for a full door project. So I can say that the ceiling fan work was excellent, we will see about the other handyman needs. I would recommend handyman matters because they are very professional.

The handyman who was sent out to my house was very nice and personable -- and terribly, terribly slow. When he arrived this morning, we went through the projects, room-by-room. I had a lengthy, but according to him, easy, -- list of projects and was a bit concerned that it might be too much for him to tackle. When I asked him if the list was too much he said no -- that everything looked pretty easy. I told him to let me know if he needed me to prioritize the projects, for time, to make sure that the important things -- the things that I couldn't do myself -- got done. He said no problem and got to work. While he did get things done, he also left many things undone -- some of the holes in the walls weren't patched, for instance, nor were the damaged braces replaced. Light bulbs weren't replaced, both indoors and out, and the projects that were "done" weren't entirely complete. When he came to me at 5pm, wanting to leave for the day, I understood -- he'd been working all day and, while he hadn't gotten everything done, he'd been busy. I paid the bill ($555 for 8 hours), as he clocked the time in, but the project list was 50% incomplete. Adding insult to injury, as I was walking the house to see what was left undone -- so I could make a plan to get everything done before our movers come in a few days -- I found trash and materials anywhere and everywhere that he *did* work. The packaging, instructions and materials for the bamboo shades were on the floor in the room where they were installed, for instance, and empty packaging was left next to each and every one of the projects. The work that was done was done well -- but there was little attention to the list as a whole, nor was there any effort to clean up after the projects that he did tackle. I appreciate the fact that Handyman Matters exists, but would recommend that anyone who's dealing with time sensitive projects be very clear with the dispatcher when scheduling the appointment -- and call mid-day if you think you need reinforcements!

We were very pleased with the overall experience with the company and the professionalism of the handyman. Shannon was running a little late but called in advance to give us a heads up. We were really happy with the quality of his work and all of the projects. After an initial assessment, the handyman was unable to do some additional (more advanced) plumbing projects - hooking up the water to an ice maker and changing a water faucet on an antique (non-standard) bathroom sink. He came back to our home on a later trip to do some drywall repair on a section of damaged ceiling. He fixed the section beautifully and there is no visible damage.

I called HM and discussed the scope of the project, providing quite a bit of detail around the things that I needed to have done to make sure that we got the right person for the project -- unfortunately, the gentleman that they sent out didn't have experience with either plumbing or electricity, which slowed our progress. He was here for eight hours -- which gets expensive, quickly, when you're paying by the hour! -- and barely got halfway thru the list. The work that was completed was done well, if a bit slowly -- although we ended up with issues that surfaced later (leaks on each of the faucets that he'd swapped out). I called the office after he left to find out if we could schedule someone else to come out and finish the list and while they said that they'd follow up... nothing. I was very disappointed, as previous experience with this company had been pretty good.

I think they were terrific. They fixed a rod that was pulled out of the wall, did some caulking and fixed a light in the bedroom. They were very prompt and nice.

They had a minimum charge for a certain time frame. They were easy to work with and pleasant to work with. The aerator needed cleaning but he didn't end up doing that when he was here. After he left someone followed up with me to see how things went and they sent him back out to fix it and they gave me a $25.00 coupon for future service. The young man was personable and did a lot of smaller things. The price and quality of service was good.

The end result was very good, and the price was reasonable. The handyman was upfront about all costs and did quality work. The only negative I experienced was that he sandwiched the different jobs in between other jobs and appointments he had, instead of finishing the work all at one time. I would have liked to be kept informed about when he expected to show up each day and have him keep to that schedule.

Izzy showed up early each day, put in a full day (often until after 6 p.m.), cleaned the area before he left, and finished the project on time.

Jose from Handyman Matters came out to assess the job a day or two after the initial call. Alicia was very friendly and helpful. Jose was very nice. I was told how much the job would cost complete with materials and labor. I believe it was a little over $700.00. Alicia told me that I could save the markup on supplies if I purchased everything myself so I agreed. I was given a supply list and recommendations by Juan on where would be the best place to buy. Juan came out July 28th and installed both doors but did not complete the job. There was something he said need to be customized to finish the doors. He left that tuesday with the intention of coming back that friday the 31st to complete the job. He has never returned. I did not receive a phone call or any communications concerning when he would come back out. I phoned the company the following Tuesday to make sure they had my cell phone number. Alicia said she would contact juan and give him the phone number so we could complete the job. Unfortunately no phone call so I contacted the company Monday morning 8/10/09 to let Alicia know that I had not received any communication so I was going to hire someone else to complete the job. She assured me not to do this and that she would get in touch with the craftsman(Juan). She called me back within 30 minutes to let me know Juan would be at my house Tuesday 8/11/09 to complete the job. Juan did not show up so I phoned the company at 10:30 to let them know and I was informed that they had just learned a few minutes ago that he was not en route to my home. Alicia also told me that he had worked a job until 5:00 a.m. and they knew he was working a job til 3:00 a.m. but it had gone over until 5:00. Alicia encouraged me to find a company that doesn't have human error.

They were very good, particularly the plumber. He was excellent. It took a couple of days to do the job, but I knew that. The pricing was fair and they were punctual.

Two men came late to move the furniture. The younger one complained the entire time about having to do it. The older man was nicer, but they were not really prepared with anything to protect our hardwood floors and such. We had to help them. The job did get done, however, and there were no major problems, except for them complaining about having to move furniture. HOWEVER, part of the reason we called was because we have several "handyman" jobs we need done. The girl in the office promised that the older mover would make careful notes and that the estimates would be emailed. WE PAID FOR THE ESTIMATES. After a week or so we called to find out where the estimates were--they didn't have a record of the request. She said she'd investigate and we eventually got two estimates on the two bathrooms we had asked for estimates on--however, the other 5 or 6 jobs weren't there and no one seemed to know what we were talking about. We'd spent about an hour and a half showing him the projects we need done, paid for estimates on the projects and never got the estimates. Overall, they didn't seem to want our business.
