Mark Chambers was so polite, so efficient and we could not be happier! We had a coupon for the $40 service charge and he came fixed the attic door in no time and he said you are paying $70 an hour what else do you need me to do? We said WHAT?? No one has ever done that! So he fixed our ceiling fan for us! We are going to recommend this company to everyone we meet. What wonderful service! Not to mention as soon as the holidays are over we are making a list as of right now and we are calling them back and oh I almost forgot they also have a 1 year labor warranty! I could go on forever but instead I am posting about this on FaceBook!

Fabulous. Marc called asked if he could come early, which was great. He was very friendly and professional. My husband and I would have argured on how to take it off and get it out of living room. Money well spent. Marc had it off and in the gargage in 20 minutes. I have project for Marc to do after the holidays. So glad I used them. They are on speed dial

Bruce installed five smoke alarms and repaired multiple cracked walls and ceilings in one room. I plan to use this provider again for many other projects.

They were easy to work with, from the design of my unusual request, through to completion. I purchased a salt free water softener, which was mounted to the exterior of my house (it's much smaller than a salt-type water softener). I would have had it mounted in the garage, but it would have cost about an extra $2000 for the plumber to run the water pipes the length of my house, to be able to set it up in the garage. The water softener needed to be covered to protect it from the damaging rays of the sun, which would make it ineffective. When I started looking for a solution, I emailed a picture of the water softener mounted to the side of my house. They emailed me back a drawing of what the cover could look like and how it would be mounted. I then set up an appointment for them to come out and measure the area. We then scheduled a convenient day and time for them to actually build the cover onsite. The results work great and look great and I'm very pleased.

Marc Chambers was very professional. He arrived early, which is great, and began working immediately. He even cleaned the mirror that he hung because he was worried about staining it with his fingerprints. This was overall a great experience. I recommend this company, and Marc, to anyone in need of a handyman.

I originally called and left a message on Oct. 7 which wasn't returned until Oct. 9. The gentleman who returned my call apologized for the delay and I explained that I needed a new exterior door to my patio preferably with a flap for my medium-sized Dachsunds. He explained that a craftsman would come to the house, take measurements, and get the door then return and hang it. He estimated 2-3 hours at 65 per hour plus materials. We then scheduled an appointment at 1230 on Oct. 14 (one week from the date of my original call). The craftsman came to my house, took measurements, said he would return with the door and NEVER CAME BACK. I have called their number at least 7 times since the evening of the 14th and have left 2 messages. Nobody ever answered the phone; it went to voice mail every time (and at least 5 of the calls were during their business hours as posted on the website. In my second message, I let them know that if I didn't hear from them by close of business on the 15th, I would be calling someone else to do the work. I am now writing this review at 6 pm on Oct. 15, thoroughly disgusted at a week's worth of time wasted.

Bruce was on time and did a great job. He also came the Saturday before and put a tarp on my roof so it would not leak prior to the repair on Monday.

I am so very impressed with this company. Bruce was scheduled to come give me an estimate and walked in and said oh this isn't much, I can do this now. And proceeded to fix the floor which had been poorly installed (it was installed way to tight which caused the buckling along the length of the floor). Bruce is awesome!!!! Will definitely use Handyman Matters in the future! Yayy no more tripping over the floor!!

Bruce did an excellent job. He was punctual, courteous and explained the process before he initiated the job. I would recommend him to anyone requiring service.

The provider removed a bedroom door (offered and hauled it away for us for no extra charge); cut 1/8 inch off new flat door (which I had purchased), perfectly carved grooves for hinges and door knob, helped select correct paint choice from samples & professionally primed & painted the new door (with paint which I purchased). Marc kept the work area vacuumed himself because he was worried about wood chunks or splinters being found later by bare feet (bedroom) and worked carefully so that the paint stayed in the protected area he created with plastic and cloth. Now, the door swings and latches perfectly, the paint is flawless, the whole finished product is perfect! Marc knows and seems to love his craft. He was friendly and courteous without being imposing. Brandy, who answered the phone, arranged and scheduled the time and the craftsman; she was friendly, efficient and cooperative. It seemed that she was as concerned as I at working out the details. Even though the project was more expensive than I had hoped prior to calling for estimates, it was less than the estimate Brandy gave and was about 1/2 the cost another Angie's list contractor quoted me. We will look for other projects which are wanting. This was a wonderful experience.

The entire process went well. At first I thought I'd have to replace all 3 upper pieces of wood. However, Jerry (Settles) showed me that the only thing needed was to recaulk and paint the trim. I appreciated his honesty. Quality of work by him and his associate was excellent. Can't say enough good about these two hard working "handymen." Superb job by both! Thanks.

Mark called prior to his arrival to confirm our appointment and arrived right on time at 10:00 a.m. He was quick to review my list of items I'd requested to have completed and went straight to work! Mark was kind enough to even do small things along the way like tighten loose toilet seats that he noticed were quick to resolve. He was extremely professional and friendly. As a very busy family with two working parents, infant twins and an active 9 year old, having someone come over to handle the things we've been forced to put off was a huge relief! Marc is very professional and punctual. I had gotten so behind at the house while attending to my elderly mom, chasing grandkids and teaching. He repaired a gate that I thought I would have to replace. It works like new. I will continue to work with this provider until I am caught up. What a relief.

1) I had an old ceiling fan that was wobbling and making noises. I called handyman matters and they responded very promptly. The workman they sent to do the job was a certified electrician who quickly removed the old fan and replaced it with a new one. 2) They did such a good job the first time that I called them to repair my shower door. They replaced the 6 foot steel hinge quickly and efficiently. The first job cost about $130 and the second one about $110.

We found this company through Angie's List. We always contact two service providers for estimates. Stephen with Handyman Matters provided the first bid. He showed up on time with a genuine smile and demeanor. He spent a lot of time walking around the house with my husband so we could identify the many issues needing attention on the exterior. We liked him from the first moment we met him. The second service provider came a day or two later, was late for our appointment and had a surly attitude. He quickly walked around the house and provided a competitive bid a few days later with much less detail than the bid we received from Stephen. For us, it all came down to our gut feeling for the person who showed up and their reflection of the company they work for. Obviously, we chose to go with Handyman Matters. Much to our happy surprise, Stephen was the craftsman who showed up to start the job on the designated day at the designated time. The extensive repair work and painting have taken a few months as we have elected to split up most of the repair project from the painting project. Our home in Terrill Hills was built in the 1930's and after living in it for 17 years and putting kids through college, etc. we were ready to address the many years of wear and tear neglect. We are completely satisfied, actually elated is a better description, with the outcome. The quotes from Stephen have been detailed and precise. The work quality is perfect! Stephen is a perfectionist and is the most conscientious person we have ever had perform any type of work on our home. We still have a long way to go to get all of our dream projects completed but we know exactly who to call when we're ready to move forward. Also, Brandi who works in the office is so friendly and helpful. She schedules the work and keeps us informed at all times. The invoices are detailed and accurate. I feel certain any craftsman who works for this company will be great but we're so happy we met Stephen and Brandi.
