Rick, handyman, called prior to coming to confirm, showed up at time and completed excellent work & was very good mannered

I was able to get ahold of them immediately to schedule an estimate and decided to move forward with them as the provider. The work was estimated to be completed in 2 days, largely due to area of ceiling that needed to be corrected. Bill arrived punctually and began work for fixing the door. When he said it was fixed I noted it opened fine but it still required some pressure to close and he proceeded to fix to work perfectly. On the bathroom though, he indicated he didn't have the tape required to apply the bottom shower door strip so he'd have to get that and apply the next day. I would've thought he'd come prepared having been the same person to provide the estimate. When he finished the caulking it looked like a first timer did it; it was thick, clumpy and not professional grade at all. I asked him to work on making it look better (smoothed out, thinner) and he looked at me like I was crazy, then eventually said he'd give it another shot. He did improve it but it was still not good; I could've done a better job and I don't know what i'm doing. Throughout his work on the ceiling he seemed to feel unsure of the job ahead of himself and this made me uncomfortable as I would've expected his discomfort to be provided during estimate and just tell me flat out if he didn't think he could do it. He eventually completed the first phase but when he came the next day it was still wet so he had to come again the next week due to conflicts in his schedule. He installed the shower strip at this time and asked we don't use shower for 24 hours. This was on a Friday. When we used it after the wait period, water was streaming out of the shower. When Bill returned the next week, I mentioned this and he said he'd try taping again, but then he realized he didn't buy enough tape and he wouldn't come back again for 2 days...so now I had no shower for another 3 days. In the meantime, Bill completed the ceiling drywall fix and painted. When Bill came last to fix the strip we had to leave another 24 hours before using the shower. Again, it kept leaking. I called Handyman Matters and indicated my discontent with the work in the shower and how it was obvious this is not Bill's strength area. I wanted someone with experience in bathrooms. They sent Steven who came to checkout the problem with the strip, he identified the issue and himself indicated the caulking was terrible. He proceeded to fix it and it looked great, the expected builder grade caulking job. Ultimately, though Bill was polite and punctual and the company was responsive, I can't trust that they won't send one guy to do all the work regardless of experience in an area. It was obvious Bill didn't do showers, this was a simple job and it became unnecessarily cumbersome.

Rick was on time. He is very competent. He works fast and reasonably priced

Excellent! This is the best handyman service I've used. Marc was punctual and friendly and worked quickly and efficiently. He asked if I was happy with the placement of the shelves before he hung. I changed my mind several times on the placement and he gladly accommodated. The quality was professional and I have received compliments on his work. Ultimately, I will call again for future jobs and would not hesitate to recommend Handyman Matters.

Damon came out initially on March 13th to evaluate the scope of the job. He was punctual, professional, and offered very helpful recommendations. He returned on March 20th, 21st, and a short period on the 22nd to complete the work. He is meticulous about his work and left the area in good condition at the end of each session. All in all, it went very well.

Damon Jagge was very prompt, professional, respectful, and kind. He went above and beyond, not only working on the window that had leaked, but also checking and fixing up the surrounding windows, all in a very reasonable amount of time.

It was a challenge but he was able to put in back in a matter of minutes. I plan to hire him again for some repairs in the future.

The faucet had rusted parts and was difficult to remove, but my handyman was able to tackle the job and get my new faucet up and running. He was very prompt, polite, and kept the working area neat. Because of the difficulty in removing the old faucet it took about two hours from start to finish, but I was very pleased with the work and the price. Plumbing companies had quoted much higher prices for a kitchen faucet install. I used the $49 Angie's List coupon too.

This is our third experience with Handyman Matters and with Rick. We are very impressed with both the company and with Rick. The company is run very professionally, and Rick is always prompt, knowledgeable, and friendly. Highly recommended.

Been having problems with the new door since it was installed. Had the handy man come over once to fix. All we got was a patch up job. I think that I would had been better to hire someone from CraigList instead I trusted Angie's list.... what a joke

Damon Jagge did the work for us. He was meticulous in his work, and returned the next day for follow up floating. His work was neat and clean and, in fact, left the room cleaner than it was before he got there. Workmanship was great and Damon is very friendly and professional. The workman did a good job on the painting but took his time in working on the gate. They get paid by the hour and can sure manage to squeeze extra time out by moving very slowly. It took him over an hour to put a new gate lock in because he did it wrong the first time. I ended up paying for his inefficiency and lack of expertise. I will be looking for someone who charges by the job and not by the hour from now on.

Two days before Christmas... only six days before moving out of the house... I was desperate to find someone who could replace a broken window before leaving the house to contracted buyers. I had received several highly expensive estimates because "replacing one window is costs a lot more than multiple windows." Handyman Matters visited me with an estimate at a small fraction of the cost offered by other providers! They were able to order custom built double-pane glass from a local shop to drop into the existing window frame, and presto -- within six hours of first arriving for the estimate the new window was installed and the job was complete!! They were the only company to give a fair estimate, based on the real cost to fix the problem at hand. I would hire them again without thinking twice and recommend them first to others!
