I called Cynthia to help me prepare our home for sale. Our realtor's photographer was coming and we wanted the pictures to look great in an effort to sell the house fast and for top dollar. Cynthia was great about "shopping" the garage and closets for furniture and accessories that we already had to keep costs down. She was also tactful about the items that needed to go or be cleaned/dusted! I was impressed that Cynthia actually rolled up her sleeves and physically re-arranged furniture with me. I think we both worked up a sweat! She also told me exactly what stores to go to and described exactly what sort of accessories to buy to put on finishing touches... again, sensitive to what everything would cost. The photos of the house look great and more importantly, my family loves the way our house looks now. My only regret is that we didn't ask her to come when we first moved in! Overall, Cynthia is very personable, easy to work with and understanding / non-judgmental of how the house looked "before." I had never used an organizer/decorator/stager before, but I will definitely call her again when we get to our new place!!

During the visit, she walked through the rooms I wanted to focus on and suggested approaches or arrangements that would work better and make life easier. She was not a perfectionist and urged me not to be one. I found her good-humored, friendly, and realistic. After an hour during which she shared many ideas for solutions to my needs, we concluded that her services were not appropriate for me now. I was not ready yet because my mother had died very recently, and I was still emotionally attached to the things I had inherited. My need was for a less expensive "personal assistant" who would help me sort through my mother's and my own papers and belongings and decide what to keep and what to get rid of. She supplied me with the name of a trustworthy person, contacted her in my presence, and helped negotiate an hourly rate satisfactory to me. I recommend Cynthia. She is very honest and gives good value. She is a "systems person" and will not take a client's money if she is not the most appropriate person to handle the needs.
Description of Work: In my first contact with Absolute Organization, I emailed Cynthia Cunningham using the address provided on Angies List and described the assistance I needed. I did not hear back from her, so several weeks later I phoned her. She spoke with me about ten minutes to understand my organization issues and describe her work with clients, including her fee structure, and we agreed on a convenient time for a home visit. Before the visit, Cynthia sent me several short worksheets to complete. Telling me this would enable us to use our time well during the two-hour initial visit, she urged me to complete the forms but not agonize over the answers ("Have fun with them").

Cindy KNEW when I was hating doing something, especially dealing with divorce papers. She'd take over, provide support and made the task go by quickly. As we worked on one project, she'd be thinking ahead about what might be useful to tackle next in terms of preparing space for the additional members of my family. In short, we made good use of my Christmas storage closet, moved art supplies out of where they'd been literally stuffed in cabinets such that we could SEE what we had, we rearranged furniture with the goal of coming up with finding a "study area" for the kids in an area of the house where they wouldn't be disturbed. She helped with my bedroom, organizing kitchen supplies and took care of chores I wasn't willing or wanting to do such as picking up containers, makaing labels etc. She is extremely resourceful, energetic and overall we had a great time. That was just over a year ago and I still have a few more things to take care of, which were things she KNEW we were going to need to take care of. She'll do as much or as little of the "hands on" chores as you need her to do. It can be overwhelming, scary and draining depending on what you're needing to deal with - Cindy is a great suspport! :-)(
Description of Work: I was in the process of getting my divorce papers all put away (had been 2 years since it was finalized) and I had been dreading that and felt overwhelmed with all there was to do. I was also going to be getting married in a few months and was needing to prepare my home for an additional 2 children (4 in total)! So, I needed to get junck picked up, packed and stored away; come up with a system to keep up with the details of my own life as the primary parent for my two children; and just basically needing to get my life in order before starting over yet again!

My first meting with Cynthia was an introduction and planning session. Then several days later Cynthia did some shopping for me and gave me some duties. She checked with me about what she purchased, then met with me and her trusted assisted and moved furniture and put up shelving.. The next day Cynthia came over and put everything in order. The whole experience was better than I expected. I could not have asked for more.
Description of Work: Cynthia Cunningham came into my small apartment and rearranged and organized everything from towels to papers and hanging pictures. She did a fabulous job. It was worth every penny. I was making no headway on my own. Now I feel better, am able to live comfortably and am able to know where things are and want to keep my living space in an organized fashion. She gave me more than money can buy, peace of mind. I would highly recommend her services to anyone. Cynthia has a great sense of humor and she never meets a stranger.

Cynthia took a complete inventory of the items in the house and garage. She set up a process to review what things would stay, be sold, be donated, or be trashed. She had great partners available to do those things that she doesn't do, but even then she arranged absolutely everything and kept everyone informed along the way. I never knew organizing had this much involved, but I'm glad to work with Cynthia and Absolute Organization, Their name says it all! Would I endorse Absolute Organization? ABSOLUTELY!
Description of Work: Cynthia is the consummate professional. She is the perfect project manager on large-scale jobs. As you would expect, she is highly organized, knows exactly what needs to be done, who is best suited to get it done, and when is the best time to get it done (usually NOW!) :) I love her enthusiasm for her work, how much she cares for her clients, but most of all, how she is a bulldog to get the results you wanted all along. Procrastination is not an option!

Cynthia was always prompt for her appointments. Her estimate of cost was in line.
Description of Work: Cynthia assisted me in a major overhaul of my house. We started in the office and purged papers I no longer needed as well as organizing the papers I need. It was overwhelming. I never would have accomplished it alone. She also helped me organize the room itself. It is more effecient now to work in. Finally she helped me attack the closets and a lot of the items in there were used to decorate my house along with some new items. We also had enough items for a pickup load to the Good Will. Also I scrapbook and was totally out of control with papers, supplies, etc. and could never find anything when I needed it. Cynthis assisted me in coming up with a new storage system that works great and it is very efficient.

Cynthia developed innovative & creative storage solutions to meet my needs is my small condo. She listened to my needs as a wheelchair user and resolved the three organiztaional issues that were bugging me. My home looks and lives much better (and larger) as a result of her efforts.

Cynthia Cunningham, owner of Absolute Organization, is a master task master with an understanding and respectful approach to problem solving. She came with ideas, affordable organizational products, great referrals and a fun and spirited attitude. The process included an assessment of problem areas in the home and written feedback (including pictures) and a plan for tackling the problem areas. Between sessions we had achievable home work assignments that allowed us to make the best use of our time with Cynthia. In three half day sessions and a consultation, we have made progress in the appearance of our home, the organization of our important papers and in the management of action items. Beyond the concrete accomplishments, I am slowing gaining new skills that will save time, reduce stress and led to growth in my professional and personal life. The services have been well worth the expense and we feel linked to a valuable service that may aide us with future issues, such as managing the struggles of aging parents.
Description of Work: Cynthia Cunningham, Absolute Organization, helped us to set an organizational system to better manage all of our "paper", including home, auto, insurance, health and to manage the action items. She helped me to come up with a flexible and transportable organizational system for my contract work. Her assistance has allowed me to have a small, manageable system that gives me a sense of order without the stability and structure that an actual office would afford me. Cynthia also helped us to open up some spaces in our house, giving our home a more light, airy and less cluttered appearance.

Cynthia assessed my house and gave me very practical, helpful tips as she went through the first time. She took pictures and asked me what I wanted to focus on first. We decided on which room to tackle first and she came up with a plan. We worked first on the master bedroom - it looked and felt so much better. Then we moved on to the living room and again, it made a huge difference. My friends came over the next day and could not believe it was the same room - it looked great! She is very knowledgeable and worked with my budget, always trying to use what I have and not waste money on "new" things I really did not need. The next job was my daughter's room and the playroom, which were totally overwhelming. She completely transformed my daughter's room and again, simplified and tailored everything to our needs and our lifestyle. In the process of cleaning out the playroom, it also became an exercise room. I cannot say enough about what a difference her services have made to my peace of mind and my efforts to simplify.

It is hard for me to even know where to start. Cynthia is a miracle to me. First, let me tell you a little about me. I am by nature not an organized person, have very ADD tendencies, and have a hard time giving away and/or throwing away things I don t have any use for. I have always wanted to have a nice house that is warm, inviting, relaxing, etc. But, I could never make that my reality because I have too much stuff and no organizational system. When I would start to think about what needs to be done to fix up my house, I would get so overwhelmed that I would just be paralyzed and not able to do anything. I was nervous about contacting an organizer because I was afraid the services would not be affordable to me and because I was embarrassed at the mess I was living in. But, Cynthia is wonderful. She was open and up-front about her fees right off the bat and they are very reasonable. During our first conversation she put me at ease and even more so when we first met. She is straight-forward, honest, sensitive, not at all judgmental and has been pure positive energy for me. The progress I have made with Cynthia is remarkable. You would not believe the difference. There is no more paper clutter at all. I am using a great filing system that she suggested. Cynthia is also a home stager and she figured out how to arrange my furniture to give a more open, welcoming feeling. The areas we ve worked on are completely free of clutter, a miracle. Now I can do things that I had continued to put off, like painting, looking for things to put on my walls, etc; in short making my house what I ve always wanted it to be. Cynthia even helped me pick out colors for the exterior of my house and inside my living room (I asked for her opinion and she was willing to share, but she did make it clear that she is not an interior designer by trade - it all looks great, though!). Cynthia is 100% respectful of my time and my money. She doesn t stand by my side while I do things that I can do without her. When she is here at my house she is teaching me strategies, coming up with ideas, and helping me with the things most challenging to me. Cynthia is passionate about what she does. She has called me with ideas or thoughts from stores when she has seen something that might work for me, she has sent me e-mails and called with new ideas and encouragement. I have followed all of her advise and it has paid off ten-fold. She is truly an expert in this field. I will continue to use her services until I finish my whole house and garage. And, although I am learning from her how to stay organized, I will never hesitate to hire her again, after my house is done, on a maintenance basis or to tackle specific problems. Did I mention she is really fun to be with? The time spent doing what I would normally consider painful drudgery type work absolutely flies by. Whether your needs are small-scale or large-scale, I cannot recommend Cynthia highly enough.
Description of Work: It started when I called Cynthia the first time. She spent a lot of time talking to me and asking me questions so she could assess my needs. She was also very reassuring about what all we could accomplish. She then e-mailed me two forms with questionnaires to complete so she would be armed with more information when we met. We first had a consultation which consisted of her coming to my house and looking at all the rooms and closets and places I try to avoid on an on-going basis. She introduced me to a filing system which I absolutely love - truly every idea and suggestion she has is gold. We had a lot of discussion about what my needs were and where I felt I really needed help. I decided what my priority was (since we had a whole house to do, we had to break it down) and we scheduled our next meeting. She came back and we spent four hours together working on my living room, office, dining and entry areas. I m still shocked at what all we accomplished. Then I had homework to do before our next meeting when we wrapped things up for that area of my house. I am now whittling down another list of things to complete before she comes back and we tackle other areas.

I found Cynthia on the National Association of Professional Organizers website and connected with the way she presented herself and her business on her own website. She returned my first phone message promptly, and asked me questions about what I was trying to achieve in the way of organization. She then came to my home for a consultation where I walked her through and showed our problem/clutter areas. Cynthia is extremely professional, non-judgmental, and full of creative ideas. Even on her first visit, she brought some tools that she thought would help me. During her second visit we worked side-by-side to sort and purge paper clutter. A suggestion she had made about getting my husband to collect his receipts in one place wasn't working, so she made another suggestion. She really got down to work but also recognized when I needed a break. It's clear to me that Cynthia loves organizing, that she's good at it, and that she cares about her clients.
Description of Work: Cynthia came to my home for a consultation first and then we scheduled time to work side-by-side. During her side-by-side visit, we sorted and purged paperwork, receipts, and clutter from my home's biggest problem areas. She also brought and demonstrated a filing system for me to look at, which I ended up purchasing.
